Greetings and God bless. My name is TC, I live in Michigan USA. I have been a Christian for a number of years, and I think I used to be on this forum 8 or 9 years ago under a different name (which I can’t remember). But after 5 years absent, I think a person is considered New.

I grew up outside of Detroit and later in the Lansing area. My daughter still lives in Michigan in Grand Ledge which is outside of Lansing. Moved to Florida in 1985 and recently relocated to Tennessee. I will pray that this site is as much a blessing to you as it is to me and that you will be a blessing to the other members that reside in our community. Glad to have you back in the fold. I see that you were smart and got out...I am currently in the White Lake/ Highland area...Nice in the Spring summer and fall, but I just cannot readapt the winter.....kind of an attitude thing.

Winters in Michigan tend to be long and brutal. I also lived in Maine for 8 years, by comparison winter in Michigan is mild. I really didn't know what cold was until living in Maine. Yeah, lived on the coast and had to deal with days and days of fog too. Dismal. Living in Florida for 25 years meant no change of seasons. In Florida there are two seasons, hot and hotter. Oppressive humidity. Leaves are either green or dead. Tennessee has 4 seasons but the winters tend to be of short duration with less snow to deal with. I am very much looking forward to spring.

Welcome Michiganite. I've lived nearby in Chicago for over a decade. Been all around Michigan too, gave presentations relating to my field of software engineering in Calvin University / Grand Rapids, and had some snowboarding friends from Kalamazoo who swore by Upper Peninsula skiing.
