Look at the Samaritan example in Luke 10. He believed in loving his neighbor, who being a Jew was the enemy of Samaritans. Could Love do less for him?
This is not the gospel . This is not how we are saved . Later Jesus really did go to the cross and the plot moves on . You are going backwards without understanding where the timelines are .

I do not save myself. Love saves me. This is the same as saying God saves me.
No God saves those that believe the Gospel . 1 cor 1.21 . If he said 'love was required to be saved this verse would have said 'love '.

what has that verse have to do with you ?
If we believe in loving our neighbor as the Samaritan did, I will then inherit the kingdom of heaven. If I don't believe in loving my neighbor, as did neither the priest or the rabbi, I will then not inherit the kingdom of heaven, but instead will very likely be among those at the judgment seat saying: "Lord, Lord...", to whom the Lord will reply, never having known them.

So you believe an atheist who does not believe on Jesus, does not believe that Jesus died for his sins has not recieved Jesus ,or recieved the Holy spirit ,so long as he loves his neighbour he will make it to heaven ?
If an atheist who says he does not believe in Jesus, believes IN love, that atheist then does believe IN God and Jesus, though unaware of it.

Yes, God saves those who believe the gospel; and the gospel is to love God/love with all you have, and to love your neighbor as yourself.
If you believe in your heart IN either, you then believe IN the other. Why don't you believe in the examples the Lord provides with the Samaritan in Luke 10; and the sheep in Matthew 25, who loved their neighbors?

Luke 10 is before the gospel happens.

God is love (1 John 4:7-8 & 16), who saves me.
Jesus died for the sins of the world . Thats him loving us . That's love . nothing compares . He loved us to the point of dying on the cross for us ,fully paying for all our sins to redeem all those that believe THAT . Faith is the prerequisite. Believing what he did saves . Thats what God wants everyone to DO ..believe. If all you had to do was mow your neighbours lawn ,Jesus need not have died .

Luke 10 is before the gospel happens.
Are you claiming that people who loved their neighbor before Jesus came around entered, get a special pass? That is not gospel.
Then we have the sheep in Matthew 25, who consist of many after Jesus came around, who are awarded the kingdom of heaven for having loved their neighbor.
