If they would actually just read the scripture rather than import their own ideas, I would agree with you. But mostly what I see is people who impose themselves upon the scriptures. So if only it were sola scripture.
I believe it's a Pre-Determined denominational snitch

You have Baptist that are die hard Darbyites in a pre-trib rapture

Catholics in believing Roman Catholicism is the only true church

Liberals proclaiming christianity, believing women can be pastors and leaders

The list is endless

The battle is in the spiritual, for the souls of men

After Blackpowderduelist said, "Athanasius was bishop of alexandria", you said in response,

Your claims are false ...
and...

Athanasius I of Alexandria ... was the 20th bishop of Alexandria
It's quite easy to refute many of your claims. It's quite funny when you refute them yourself.

You have denominational religion, cult groups for everyday of the week, there isnt going to be harmony and peace

Hope ya stay around :)

Constantine built the original St. Peter's Basilica, And Also Built The "Lateran patriarchate" where the Popes have resided.

Constantine is the foundation and father of Roman Catholicism the State Church, a (Fact)

Wikipedia: St. Peter's Basilica
Old St. Peter's Basilica was the 4th-century church begun by the Emperor Constantine the Great between 319 and 333 AD.[26] It was of typical basilical form, a wide nave and two aisles on each side and an apsidal end, with the addition of a transept or bema, giving the building the shape of a tau cross. It was over 103.6 metres (340 ft) long, and the entrance was preceded by a large colonnaded atrium. This church had been built over the small shrine believed to mark the burial place of St. Peter, though the tomb was "smashed" in 846 AD.[27] It contained a very large number of burials and memorials, including those of most of the popes from St. Peter to the 15th century. Like all of the earliest churches in Rome, both this church and its successor had the entrance to the east and the apse at the west end of the building.[28] Since the construction of the current basilica, the name Old St. Peter's Basilica has been used for its predecessor to distinguish the two buildings.

Wikipedia: Lateran Palace
The Domus Laterani came into the possession of the emperor when Constantine I married his second wife Fausta, sister of Maxentius. Around 312, Constantine had razed the imperial horse-guards barracks adjoining the palace, which was known as Domus Faustae or "House of Fausta" by this time; the equites singulares Augusti had supported Maxentius against Constantine. He commissioned the construction of the Basilica di San Giovanni in Laterano on the site.[2] The Domus was eventually given to the Bishop of Rome by Constantine.

As Byzantium grew less able to help prevent Lombard incursions, the papacy became more independent of the Empire. Prior to the early eighth century, the residence of the bishops of Rome was not called a palace, but rather the "Lateran patriarchate".[3] The incentive to refurbish the Lateran patriarchate as a true palace was to create an imperial residence from which the pope could exercise not only spiritual but also temporal authority.
Constantine stopped the christian persecution, legalized christianity, and made it the official religion of Rome. Began this process around 310-313AD

The Edict of Thessalonica (also known as Cunctos populos), issued on 27 February AD 380 by three reigning Roman Emperors, made Nicene Christianity the state religion of the Roman Empire.[1] It condemned other Christian creeds such as Arianism as heresies of madmen, and authorized their persecution.

So in about 70 years Rome took control of Christianity, creating a false christianity. They stopped the percecutions for about 70 yrs while they hijacked the christian faith, and then re-institutioned the persecutions.

This Christian Rome , alliance of Emperor and Pope was the beginnings of the 1st and 2nd beast of revelation.

It began in 380AD and the Church (corrupt) and State (empire) ran unchecked until about 1640 when The colony of Rhode Island was established which established separation of Church and State. This was the begining of the end of imperial state and church.

1640 AD - 380 AD = 1260 years or 42 months.

Modern day democratic government began with the foundation of the colony of Rhode Island w/ Roger Williams. Roger Williams saw it correct that Constantine was worse than Nero for Christianity.

In what world do 1260 years equal 42 months?

1. And how's that "democratic government" working out? It'll collapse within our lifetimes.
2. Are you saying you'd rather have lived under Nero than Constantine? Really??!!

Freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of information, freedom to vote, peace in the neighborhood, job opportunities, infrastructure to get wherever I want and need to go. More food and supplies than I could ever need in the grocery stores, and online.
I am so very grateful for this freedom and government that we have.

It'll collapse within our lifetimes.

Fact is Constantine brought pagan tradition into his State Church, used to control the masses

The Church was well aware Nero was the enemy, Constantine was the wolf in sheep's clothing

Another mention, Constantine invited 1800 Bishosp from his empire all expenses paid, to the 325AD Council Of Nicea, only 318 showed up, this let's you know the Church fathers opposed Constantine and his new State Church

Christianity was alive and well, before, during, and after Constantines life, he polluted the church, bring pagan practices into it, Easter, Christmas, and Sunday observance are a few mentions
The Didache (from the 1st century) is the earliest source about the apostles changing the day of observance from Saturday to Sunday.

Yes he removed seven books from the Catholic Bible - Baruch, Judith, 1 and 2 Maccabees, Sirach, Tobit and Wisdom. He also wanted to remove Hebrews, James, Revelations, Jude because they do not fit the faith alone teaching according to him.
And parts of Daniel and Esther.

This forum has pretty much convinced me of the futility of sola scriptura. Everyone reads the Bible with their own interpretations. I think they're honest for the most part. Honest disagreements. But the result is that everyone has a different view of things and they wind up fighting about everything. What's the point?
Amen

God used Constantine for good that we need to see as well as to understand how Constantine affects our church today that opposes God's ways.

God wants us to look to scripture only for instructions, and Constantine used the councils and the church to look for instructions. We need to check ourselves to be sure we follow God and not Constantine, scripture not church doctrine or not check results of church councils.

Constantine said all the Jews and their ways were evil, we should not follow them. The Lord said that anyone who blessed them would be blessed and cursed if they were against them. We need to follow God, not Constantine. It is true that gentiles are not obliged to follow Jewish custom or to be circumcised in the flesh, but that is not saying "if the Jews do it we may not do it". We are to follow the Lord.

You are judging the man, Constantine, and scripture asks us not to do that. Rather, we are to look to scripture and check actions and we may judge the actions. I think it is important to check our actions and beliefs that are the results of what Constantine taught. We need to be sure we follow scripture and not Constantine, but we also need to leave the judgment of the man to the Lord.

Before Constantine, Christians were murdered because they were Christians and Constantine stopped that. Do you think that was done by him as a wolf in sheep's clothing? Some things this man did were used by God for good. Some things were against the truth of the Lord.

Constantine stopped Christian persecution, because this causes the church to grow

He played the phony conversion to unify his empire, and christianity was spreading like wild fire, he had to make a move, and he did

Constantine was a wolf in sheepsclothing, he controlled the State Church that he created a (Fact)

He amalgamated the pagans into the watered down church, that is now Roman Catholicism

Save your breath on trying to silence my opinion :)

what does Rhode Island have to do with papal influence over the Roman empire?

why not point to Martin Luther's 'two kingdoms' doctrine, dating from 1523 (('On Temporal Authority'))?
you know Anabaptists after him - in the actual lands that Rome had great influence over - for hundreds of years were preaching that Christians should not involve themselves with politics at all, and politics should not involve itself with the church?
and several wars in Europe in the 16th-18th century were fought over ridding secular government from Catholic church control & manipulation?

so why Rhode Island? wasn't the reformation kinda significant?
i can't see any reason other than trying to fit the number 1260 into something.

The Didache (from the 1st century) is the earliest source about the apostles changing the day of observance from Saturday to Sunday.
nothing was "changed"

Christians aren't gathering to keep sabbath. Christians are gathering to remember and worship Christ, who rose on the the 8th day, which is the 1st of the week.
the Feast of Tabernacles wasn't '
changed' to eating lunch at Applebee's after meeting. the church isn't under the Law of Moses.

You seem a little mad or something. Since Genesis, the Sabbath was always the day given to the lord. The apostles changed it to Sunday according to the Didache to reflect the fact that Christ rose on Sunday. I have no idea what your talking about regarding an 8th day.
