Or you organised or an organizer?
Do you make the rules or do you follow someone elses?
what do you like to be?

Or do you prefer things to be a bit random and chaotic?

im a librarian. I was having thoughts about the dewey decimal system. In some ways, its good, but in a lot of ways, its so frustrating! Whoever Dewey was, I dont think his system works for a lot of people these days when they try and find books! (I dont use dewey for church library for example. its just extra work)

what other 'systems' frustrate you which you would reorgansise if given the chance? for example, houses. Some houses are really badly laid out. would you knock them down and start again or just put up with someone elses bad design?

hmm
nobody organises anything?
well I will if nobody else does.
Im throwing out Melvil Deweys decimal system. Outdated, american and biased. Children dont pick books by number, or discipline, or whether its is broad or specific. they pick books cos they like a topic that interests them.

I am a great organizer.
I leave everything exactly where I am when I finish.
Now if I could only remember where I finished.

I like for things to be organized but I don't like organizing them. So I find ways to simplify instead.

I threw out all my socks and bought 24 pairs of black socks. Life is too short to spend so much time looking for the match for this sock. Now I just grab any two socks, and they go with anything I'm wearing.

Too expensive to rebuild a house just because of a horrible layout. Especially with wood prices going up here.

true
I guess some things you get stuck with.
I recall working in a new library that had a horrible layout from the start and us librarians were not consulted for the design. the workroom was way too small, it was long and narrow, there was inadequate ventilation, there was a wind tunnel...so many things we could see was wrong, yet millions were spent on the new build.

i would get a pair of scissors and cut the Bible in two where the old testament ends and the new testament begins,
and then i would tape them back together with the new testament at the front.
(i tried to read the Bible when I was 19 years old. I read 500 pages and gave up. and I never got to Jesus.
when I was 35 I read the gospels and absolutely loved them and was upset no-one had ever pointed me to them before.)

(btw that's not quite true really... really, after the cutting part i would throw the old testament in the bin, because of what God said on the mount of transfiguration and because Jesus cursed the old fig tree and said nothing would ever grow on it again, but that's just me.)

I'm a total neat-freak and keep everything in order. The system that frustrates me the most is the disorganization of my mom's house, and she's NOT a neat freak. To fix it, I'd rent a large dumpster. 😂

Lanolin, does this giffy drive you nuts too? 😂

Jesus is in the Word from Genesis through the final amen of Revelation inclusive.

The first assemblies of the Messiah for centuries only had the OT from which to learn of Him. Perhaps, having read the NT and understood, rereading the OT will open up to you.

haha looks like the hoarding ladies house. her one I couldnt even get in the door.

she had a plastic bag system where everything was in plastic bags. But I cannot cope with such a system where everything is in plastic bags.

I always thought the Bible would be better divided up into a partwork folders and in ringbinders, so that the different 66 'books' could be read separately and put in different orders. And also some loose leaves for writing or colouring in as well...

Then I suppose it would be more like a 'choose your own adventure' Bible, you come to the end of Genesis and there are two or three options. Turn to John page 846 if you want to find out about the beginning of the Word. Turn to Revelation page 982 if you want to skip 2000 years. Turn to Exodus page 78 if you want to carry on out of Egypt.

However, this does not apply to things like salt and pepper (still in separate containers) tops and bottoms (I do not wear onesies) and books (I cant colour coordinate my books, I need to put stickers on them and THEN sort them by coloured sticker, but if I sorted them by colour cover, or spine colour , nobody could find anything unless they wanted a book on green that was green. )
