Example: 1 Kings 19:5-8, esp v.8. He went in the strength of that food 40 days and 40 nights as far as Horeb, the mountain of God.

It was heavenly food. It was spiritual food. The Word of God read and meditated upon, in our daily quiet time or family prayer or on some other occasion, becomes food for our spirit and food for our soul. It nourishes and strengthens us.

This verse 8 is not a direct promise (like Isaiah 41:10, 43:2, etc), but it becomes a promise when the Spirit speaks to us! Hold on to it.

Psalm 119 is the longest chapter in the Bible, and its subject is the Word of God. Read the Bible daily, have a Quiet Time with God, have family prayer, and study God’s Word on your own.

Elijah had a very long journey to make. He was a dispirited and crushed man (19:3,4). He was a man frail just like us (James 5:17). How wonderfully God reached out to him. He removed his despair, and gave him strength for the journey ahead - a very long journey in the desert sun. And he was commissioned for new tasks ahead.

God spoke to him in a still small voice. Do you hear that still small voice in your daily devotions? Don’t be carried away by false doctrines. God does not come by the intellectual route; He comes by His Word and His Spirit. So cast aside the intellectual junk that Calvinist Bible schools dump into your head. Cast aside all isms, Pentecostalism, Calvinism, etc.

Humble yourself before God. Come with a sincere heart. Say, Lord, speak to me, 1 Sam 3:9...and He will speak. Wonderfully!

This is kinda frightening! No response to the above thread, except by pottersclay (bless her!). Are folks on CC more interested in discussing silly and offensive threads like ‘Did God Create Sin?’ (Vicky) than on responding positively to a Biblical thread on the voice of God?

Friends, if you are not hearing God speak to you, it is clear that you are spiritually deaf...and, yes, spiritually dead!

Let truly born-again believers respond. We are here to ‘build one another up in the most holy faith’ — the faith that comes from the most holy Bible!

sigh

spanking people in this forum will not go over very well

as you might have noticed

the best way to engage others, is to post in other threads, so that they get to know you and then they might respond better

quite a few people will come in, new people, post a thread and think voila! everyone will respond. it does not really work that way

You are welcome to your opinions. Others don't necessarily share them. Sometimes, the people who ask the craziest questions are the ones most in need of help in their walk with God.

Friends, if you are not hearing God speak to you, it is clear that you are spiritually deaf...and, yes, spiritually dead!
Um, no. "Spiritually dead" is unsaved.

Have you participated in other threads, building people up? Or are you just offended that few have responded to yours? Don't walk in and expect others to heed your beckon call. You get what you give. ;)

You read this post as a spanking, I read it as questioning myself if I fed myself today with the word of the Lord.

I hope Chrarish will post as God leads him/her and not as we lead.

Thank you, Sophie, Dino and Blik. I understand.

I believe I am one week old on this site. Still learning.

Not everyone here is born again. They are Christians, but in an outward way. It’s because of my born-again experience that I am eager for others too to hear God’s Word and be led by the Spirit.

I am not perfect. I fail, I fall, but I am up and walking!

Christ, the living Word, speaks through His written Word!
