There is a difference between spending money and losing money. There's a chance to win on a gamble, but in this life we have to earn our way.

Spending money is profitable, losing money is unwise. If you have a chance to work then pursue it. We all have to earn our living, generally speaking. There is a profit in working because a living can be earned.

I have heard it taught God is not in favor of seeking something for nothing as in gambling sine in order for one to win someone else needs to lose, and He desires we ALL prosper in Him.

At the end of the day though, money is just a tool. And like any tool, its value is in how you used it to effect change.

It sure is a really popular tool though. Everybody wants it, and everybody is sure he knows best how to use it.

Like any tool though, it takes practice to learn how to use it well. You need a plan instead of just bashing away like a kid with a hammer.

In this world we need some money, but generally speaking we got to work for it. Whether we are pay in currency or trade assets, either way we the goal is to earn something.

Gambling is often an example of losing money rather than spending money. The odds are usually in favor of the house and it exploits vulnerable people who can't afford to lose money.

In the long term, it's almost always more profitable to just work for a living.

I agree. A measured response is an appropriate and mature way to use the tool of money. The Hulk Smash method of finances can end badly especially if someone puts all of their eggs in one basket.

Long term gains through work is a more stable and safer method than short term losses in risky ventures.

Money is energy. It must flow. Spending money to get something that you need in return is letting money flow with gratitude. But losing or gaining money thru gambling is manipulative. It is not happy money. Unhappy money will also bring unhappiness. Happy money will bring more abundance, gratitude and contentment.

Isn't receiving grace from God, since it is unmerited, something for nothing.

Also, when they say..."instant credit"...

don't they actually mean "instant debt"?

is this a call for baby boomers to stop consuming? Or to keep them consuming? After all if nobody spends any money the world would collapse!
lol

will they listen...probably not.

The kids are not expecting any inheritance any more anyway. Their financial futures have already been totally destroyed.

Doesn't have much to do with money though. It might be taking a nap in the middle of the day on your day off. Monday is my day off and it's not complete without a nap. THAT'S my version of living life to the fullest. :giggle:
