God Speaks so much wisdom to us by increasing our understanding of his word, so that we clearly discern his will for us. He may impress our hearts by His Holy Spirit as to what curse of action be best for us through friends or by shaping events and circumstances in such a way as to reveal His will. However God has given us intelligent minds and He is honored when we make use of them in solving the problems of life under the guidance of the HS.

"Any man be he minister or layman, who seeks to compel or control the reason of any other man becomes an agent of Satan,"

Would you agree?

We only have one Master, So I my self can see this as a true statement.
Come let us reason together....

Meany times bible study is more about trying to prove their point of view but when we over step our bounds by trying to force a believe on someone you become out side of Gods will.

I think the best way to handle A different point of view is start where you "do" agree and work from there. Even if its not about the bible, anything in common with a person can help repour. Jesus teaches us that by filling someone's needs before He gave them the law it helps to work the ground before the seed is planted. Meany times we see Jesus healing and forgiving sins before telling them go and sin no more.

Generally, I agree with you.

However... I recall a couple of JW's visiting several times. They wanted to talk about how we "agreed" on issues and use that "agreement" as the basis to proselytizing. It is good to find areas of agreement, and it is also good to ensure that you are actually agreeing on the meanings of key words, and not allowing the fallacy of equivocation to be employed against you.

True,

I think God has a counterfeit for anything that God made for our good.

Is.1:18 Come now,and let us reason together saith the Lord. Though your sins be as scarlet they shall be white as wool.......

I love this verse bc the Lord gives us a common ground or starting point.

When we can not communicate,we can not be effective for the Lord.

Reasoning is NOT argumentive, but is a give and take conversation.

To have friends a man must show himself friendly. When we refuse to listen as well as talk we lose much.

It doesn't mean we don't stand firm in the word but that we have a meekness and gentleness about us,willing to show love to those who seem unlovable.

Reasoning is of sound mind which the Lord has given us!

I have been reading Mark 4:20 talking about the different amount of fruit and John 15:8 being a true disciple.

These are really hard places, bearing fruit as a true disciple.

Many miss the mark on both.

If I'm an apple tree,I should bear apples not pears.

The fruit is not just the fruit of the Spirit but goes further into reproducing another disciple for Christ.

The disciple is NOT greater than his Master but saturates and then imitates him.

What did our Master do?
Feed the hungery, healed the sick, taught the unlearned, befriended the rejects of society.

We MUST IMITATE HIS LOVE,which covers the ugly in people!

Yes, that is my desire, but we must make sure it is centered on God's truth.

2 Timothy
2:14 Of these things put [them] in remembrance, charging [them] before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, [but] to the subverting of the hearers.
2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2:16 But shun profane [and] vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

It has been my experience that any statement about an interpretation of scripture is read as "forcing your will". This is especially true about discussing any obedience to law. It is as if demons work at changing these posts into a poster bragging they obey all law. I have even have someone respond by asking me if I obeyed every law.

If its is a chapter an vs then its not our will but Gods word, I try to remind folks. Then I remind my self we water the seed and God gives the increase!

And all things work together for Good for those who love God.

I think its natural for us to have a attuited of disbelieve at first other-wise everyone would just believe anything. so taking care of someone's needs first often takes done the distrust.

I always say if you don't stand for something you will fall for anything.
