Does God want us to have children?
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. (Gen 1:27,28)

BE FRUITFUL AND MULTIPLY = HAVE CHILDREN

If you want to post pictures with your breasts half exposed on Facebook that is between you and their Admin however it is completely inappropriate here thus the picture being removed and a warning issued.

This is a heresy that originated in the second or third centuries with the Gnostic Gospels.
My apologies about my old DP...I didn't realise that would be an issue

My mistake. Is the concensus that Christ had no children?

Recognized scripture (that which is found in the Bible) does not support Christ having been married let alone having children.

Yes, God does want us to have children but I do not believe it is a command. However, I don't believe there should be a "decision" to have children; this is something that just happens. If a couple marries and copulates, children naturally occur. For singles, there is no "decision" to have children as this is generally not regarded as an option.

Of the flesh? No. Unfortunately, this notion led many to claim a divine right to kingships back in the past, which led to conflicts.

However, considering that the Messiah is called the "2nd Adam" and that we are considered "hidden in Him" and "of His body" and "born again", indeed He has children. The Messiah, the visible God, is the Everlasting Father of every believer.

Isaiah 9:6
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 53:10
Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.

Not for me!

It's a personal choice for the individual

I think Catholics don't use contraceptives might be other Christian churches are fine with it

Not if you take Genesis 1 seriously. God has a reason for everything. Interestingly enough the Muslim population is growing by leaps and bounds in the West, while the Western population is shrinking. That is by design, and a part of the Muslim Jihad against the West.

It is between you and God.

I'd say no.

God said be fruitful and multiply when the world was young. When there was a lot of time.
But God also said
Mat 24:19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!

Jesus's advise is to not be with child when the final days are apon us.
When the times of tribulation come.

I don't know the day or hour of His return but the world has become so evil and the problems so common that i would feel guilty bringing a child into it.

I was told the same thing by a missionary in that region. It is a long term plan to take over peacefully because they will have numbers to win votes and take over governments. A 50 year plan in the States.

As this is only an Earthly plane, and we will be with God in Heaven if we believe. Also, if we have children we increase the chance of more people not getting into Heaven.

I do not think it is moral to risk sending someone to eternal suffering. I am not anti-natal, however. What do you all think?
Regarding the Title of your OP: The answer is YES!

Elsewise.......there would be NO MANKIND for Adam and Eve would have never had children...........

Sometimes questions appear here that are simply ........... well .......

Agreed.... assuming one is married, of course.

Reproduction was extremely important in the beginning for the reason cited. I think the primary objective has shifted to the Great Commission today, though. We are to reproduce Spiritually by letting God use us to lead spiritual children into the Kingdom of God.

John
4:35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and [then] cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
4:36 And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.
