Let's not go OTT. They have a handful of differing verses in the New World Translation not 'nearly every verse'.
And no, I do not endorse The NWT or JW doctrines.

What we can say is that annhilationism is espoused by JW's.
And some form of it also by SDA's, Mormons, Christadelphians & Christian Scientists which are all Christian cult groups.

Some theologians and a few Christians historically have also espoused the view.
I don't think it would be fair to call them heretics based on this issue alone.

That said, it should be noted that the majority view among Christians of all continents & ages, the Orthodox view-
is that of eternal torment. The annihilationists are the challengers, not the norm and I haven't yet been convinced
by any of their arguments. Especially since some of them misrepresent my view entirely.
Good points, but I have found that those who deny the everlasting Hell fire also deny that Jesus is God. Very Satanic!

Rayzor, your thoughts seemed to be disordered--when you write it's as if someone else is typing alongside you on the keyboard.

If a pig is completely covered in mud--is the pig now mud? Jesus is called the 'spotless lamb' who takes upon the sins of the world. Spotless means perfection/without flaw.

How is sin the devil? Satan is a person. Sin is an action. Sin is anything that is done that is against God's moral law.

We know that Satan is the enemy of Christ. How can Christ then be Satan? Are you able to see the incongruity of your statement?

A better rendering is, "For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ."
I think JW's should confess that they are indeed JW's. Unless they are ashamed or trying to deceive.

Hi everyone, OP here.

I think I have changed my view on eternal torture. It's what we in the West have mostly grown up on. It's what we learned since we were young. But after paying more attention to the Scripture and what it truly says, I think I am officially leaning more towards annihilation.

So you reject eternal life? Eternal life and everlasting punishment are the exact same Greek words. Satan would love to have your company in Hell fire "forever and ever".

Your world/worldview is very small.

Irenaeus said that the soul is not immortal by nature, but it can become immortal if it lives according to God’s law.

His work is one of the earliest explicit affirmations outside of Scriptures of the final annihilation of the wicked.

There were believers and even influential church fathers (like Irenaeus) who held to conditionalism/annihilation. Methodist writer Leslie Woodson, while defending the view of hell as a place of eternal torment, concedes that “there have always been individuals and small groups who held to the doctrine of annihilation of the wicked and repudiated eternal punishment."

Perhaps also look up John Stott (<= link :))

Outside the Scriptures? Why would you believe an unbeliever who is deceived by Satan?

The eternal judgment of the dead is just that--eternal. Eternal torture, no, but the eternal strike of God's gavel. Just like the judgment of a condemned death row inmate remains after they are long dead (you can view the judgment and death certificate) and remains so for eternaity, so it will be with the annihilated unsaved. They will be no more, but the judgment and their death remains forever the outcome of their unbelief and sin.

No one denies that hell fire is everlasting. Your post is known as a strawman fallacy.

You think believers never wrote anything aside from Scripture?

Such a teensy weensy world view you have!
I'll stick with the Bible.

Revelation 20:10 (NKJV)
10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

Wise move. It's always wise to accept what bible says rather than what this person or that person claims.

LOL the only way I would join Satan in Hell is if I rejected Jesus as my savior. I don't and won't. Me beliving in annihilation does not nullify my belief in Christ. Get real.
