I don't know if anyone's been following the Doreen Virtue saga, but I had a couple of observations so I thought I'd start a thread on it.

For those who might not be aware, Doreen Virtue was a famous New Ager who claims to have had a vision of Jesus in January of 2017 which thrust her into the world of Evangelical Christianity. Since then a great controversy has arisen over whether her vision was real or otherwise. That's the nutshell version; but there's much more to this story, which we can get into if there's interest.

What I wanted to comment on is the vision itself. The following image is a painting of the vision which Virtue had commissioned. What's the one thing you notice about "Jesus'" hands? Answer: no nail marks.

The next image is from the cover of a deck of cards Virtue had published the preceding year in 2016. It bears a striking resemblance to the vision Jesus.

As a New Ager, Doreen Virtue's world would have been filled with many such images of Jesus and angels with light coming from the heart. One of the most iconic Catholic images is Sacred Heart of Jesus. In Virtue's Jesus vision, I don't see anything but a New Age Jesus.

I've been following this pretty much from the get-go and it's all very bizarre. I believe she stumbled into Christianity by accident (though with God there are no accidents). If she's sincere that's good. Justin Peters and others have been leading her away from her notion that she actually had a vision or visitation (as she sometimes calls it) of Jesus. In one interview she said she initially wanted to go into the New Apostolic Reformation and become a prophet; now she's a Baptist.

However, I believe she's jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire. She has been surrounding herself with people involved in big box Christianity; many of them associated with the NAR. She's already mega-wealthy from all her New Age book sales and I think she heard "cha-ching," and realized she can be a "Christian" acquire more wealth in the process.

I wish her well. I pray she realizes some of the people she's been surrounding herself with are wolves. I'm talking about the ones from the Reformed camp and the NAR.

In one interview Doreen stated that she hated that all her old books and cards are still out there. She wishes there was a way to recall them and get them off the market. But I wonder if she still takes royalties from them; I haven't heard anything about that. And I wonder if she plans to take all the money she's made from them and give it to the poor. That's what her mentor Justin Peters said Benny Hinn should do with the money he conned people out of. Or he should return it, I believe was what he said.

The guy on the deck of cards looks like a white dude, while the top one looks like he could possibly be middle-eastern. Regardless- an accurate representation would have the marks.

Dreams do tend to be hazy (at least for me), and some details tend to fade out... but I don't think I would hire an artist to paint a dream either. It is what it is.

The description of Jesus in Revelation makes it sound like he was resurrected as an albino version of himself. (Remember that the disciples could not immediately recognize him)
Which would be pretty cool, but I won't be disappointed if that's not the case.

I wonder why they try to convince her she didn't see Jesus. I could see a few reasons for "keeping it on the down low" (as the cool kids say), but not trying to convince her it didnt happen.

I dont doubt the potential for people like this to be converted, but if she just intends to assimilate Jesus into her witchcraft I hope she doesn't make money doing it, because then all the new-age false prophets will do it... You know I never realized how a "New Age Anti-christ" would work until just now. Which means this whole thing with new-agers converting is nothing new, because I tend to be behind the curve a little.
