So much is posted about the law, sin, morality and what constitutes righteousness. A lot of it misses a vital point. We need to know that death comes before resurrection. Lord Jesus did not just die to pay the price for sin. He died for the sinner, the one who commits sin. And that is everyone who is born of Adam.

Much is debated about the Law. This is what Paul had to say: Galatians 2:19 "For through the law I died to the law so that I might live to God."
Who imposes any laws on the dead? Who would take a dead person to court, even if they were known to be criminals? The law does not change, but death renders it ineffective and pointless

What about sin? Christians are dead to sin also. We do not try to die. That is impossible. God credits the death of Jesus to us. When sin comes along to tempt us, we can say, "Leave me alone. I'm dead."

Romans 6:9-11 "For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, He cannot die again; death no longer has dominion over Him. The death He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life He lives, He lives to God. So you too must count yourselves dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.…"

"Count" means to consider or reckon. It has its basis in truth. If I have money in the bank, I can use my debit card to pay even if I have no money in my wallet. I count on the money in bank account. In the same way, we can count on the death of Jesus as our death. It's a real event in history.

The world is our enemy because it is Satan's realm. The world demands our loyalty. It tries to distract us from the Kingdom of God. It has its own morality, which changes according to how much evil worldly people will accept. What was intolerable even ten years ago is now being normalised. The world punishes those who stand against it. How do we deal with this?

Galatians 6:13-15
For the circumcised do not even keep the law themselves, yet they want you to be circumcised that they may boast in your flesh. But as for me, may I never boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. For neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything. What counts is a new creation.…

When young David went to fight Goliath, King Saul offered him his armour. David refused it. He did not need it and it did not fit. The world seeks to impose its values on Christians. Right now, there is a battle for our children. The state seeks to undermine the authority of parents. Fornication is commonplace and the world approves. It is no longer acceptable to discipline children. These attitudes have crept into the church, where they do not belong. We need to know that we have no business accepting the world's standards and that we are immune to its influence. Again, what harm can the world do to a dead person?

Decades ago, I met a farmer who became a preacher. He was mocked and ridiculed a lot. He was no longer one of the farming community. He was not a polished product of theological college. Someone asked him how he dealt with the insults and mockery. He shrugged and said, "You can't hurt a dead man" Oh how we need to die so that we may live.

There is one more aspect to cover. I'll post that separately.

The warfare that the born-again face takes place in the mind, that is the battleground.

We are bombarded daily with sin attacking our minds, and if we don't have a plan set in place when these attacks take place, we will fall to that sin.

You have made an excellent point my, friend! I have no idea how many times a day I say to myself, "I am dead to sin and sin will not have dominion over me." I also say at times to myself when the destroyer comes, "Christ died for my sins and delivered me from sin that I don't have to sin." It helps me by placing my mind on Christ when the temptation comes. I've made it a practice for many years now.

This is an excellent post, and there are several other points you have also made that need to be discussed for those who want to live a Godly life.

We are not under the law, are dead to the law, and are delivered from the law as concerning condemnation (Romans 6:14, Romans 7:4, Galatians 2:19, Romans 7:6, Ephesians 2:15-16, Colossians 2:14, Hebrews 7:18-19, Galatians 5:18) not obedience (Hebrews 8:8-10, Hebrews 10:16, Romans 8:7, Romans 8:4, 1 John 5:3, 2 John 1:6, Romans 13:8-10; Romans 5:5; 1 John 2:3-6, 1 Corinthians 9:21)

Also, while no one can keep the letter of the law (Galatians 6:13), it should be clear that we have been delivered from the law so that we might not any longer be bound to the letter but might be set free to obey the spirit of what is written (Romans 7:6).

And that, if we walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit, the righteousness of the law is fulfilled in us (Romans 8:4).

I get the sense from the Holy Spirit that I may be over-sowing this verse;

But I also get the impression from Him that this is necessary since hardened hearts are rejecting this seed and therefore it may be necessary to sow it in the parts of hearts that are soft soil to receive the word.

Not one quote of Jesus Yeshua.

How about John 14:26, 16:13 as it relates to 2 Peter 3:15-16?
Jesus declares directly that He has not come to abolish the law but to complete it.

Now not being stupidd about it, I studied the law in the Torah, and I understand the laws that cannot possibley be followed now because of Jesus Yeshua. You are intelligent enought to know that all that falls into the realm of loving and serving God the FAther is yet to be followed. The rest of those laws are fulfilled by Jesus.

Do not toy with the Word by personal interpretations. Hear only what the Word is from the Lord.

The point being that Jesus indirectly substantiated Paul's writings when He said that the Spirit would guide the apostles (and those who would receive the Holy Spirit) into all truth.

...dead to sin, but alive to God
There you have it. But "alive to God" is the key. And Christian baptism makes this clear: Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. (Rom 6:4). So the focus is not so much on the death, but on the *resurrected* life after baptism. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature. Old things have passed away. Behold all things have become new".
