I don't put words in God's mouth. So it is not me saying it ...it is His word!!!

Please, then you tell me what this means....;

1 Peter 3:21
King James Version

Evmur is a super, super nice person. Why be so aggressive toward him?

Romans 12:18 NKJV - "If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men."

I have known Evmur from another Christian site, and not once have I ever seen him be disrespectful in any way, shape, or form . . . ever. Not once.

Please show that the Lord has given you a tender and responsive heart.

Ezekiel 36:26 NLT - "And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart."

This is the same heart that causes us to Love our Brothers and Sisters in Christ.

Stop trying to divert when someone has violated God's word.
God has..as I have responded. There is no PC when we deal with God's word.

You need to speak to that person who is violating the Bible.

Romans 12:18 NKJV - "If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men."

It is not possible to walk away? Didn't Jesus go to the cross for you . . . taking a beating? Is it not possible for you to be kind?

Ephesians 4:31 NIV - "Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice."

Colossians 3:8 NIV - "But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips."

It isn't up for debate. You are to Love your Brother.

1 John 4:21 NIV - "And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister."

1 John 4:20 NIV - "Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen."

1 John 3:10 NIV - "This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God's child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister."

Eph 4:14, That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
Eph 4:15, But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
Eph 4:16, From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

I was quoting God's word ..."not that Jesus Himself baptised but His disciples ..." " I [Paul] was not sent to baptise"

Jesus Himself was baptised ... were His sins washed away? was he thereby saved?

It might seem a small point to you but I think it is significant that the full verse of what Jesus says in Mark. 16 is "... he who believes and is baptised shall be saved but he who believeth not is condemned already"

... I think that Jesus did not say "he who believeth not and is not baptised ..." is significant.

Whether you like or not multitudes have been baptised [in one form or another] but have not been saved and multitudes have been saved but not water baptised.

It's just the fact ... The Salvation Army does not baptise ... I think they are wrong, I wish all christians would be baptised in accordance with scripture.

Baptism does not save.
Surely Jesus did not say one thing and then change His mind in the next sentence.
Consider what Mark 16 indicates. If a person gets baptized without believing it is necessary they are doing something void of faith in God's word. Believing the entire gospel message and being obedient to it is required of all.

Someone pointed out that it is possible that Jesus did not water baptize to avoid confusion. John stated that he was baptizing in water, and Jesus would later baptize with the Holy Ghost.

We know that Ananias told Paul to wash away his sins in water baptism. (Acts 22:16) Therefore, it is highly improbable that Paul's comment meant water baptism was not required. It is more likely that his primary mission was to preach the gospel message while others performed water baptisms, and others prayed with people to receive the Holy Ghost. This truth is witnessed in scriptures such as Acts 8. Also, relevant is that members of the church body differ in their functions.

As for Jesus' baptism, He was sinless. He told John to administer His water baptism to fulfill all righteousness. His example is one we are to follow. The OT initiation of priests required washing from head to toe, and anointing with oil. Children of God are members of the royal priesthood. (1 Peter 2:9) Obedience to the NT commands outlined in Acts 2:38 parallel the requirements for one to become part of the priesthood as noted in the OT. (Ex. 40) Notice that both the high priest and his sons went through the same process to become priests in Exodus 40:12-16.

WOW...he doesn't have to say that...it is clearly in Acts 2; 38 et al.

If you rely on your rationale...then we don't have to repent because in the same vain it doesn't say that ...does it?"

Until you accept Go's word for face value...we are done here.

Bless you to better understanding.

Jesus was without sin from before He was born.

If this had not been the case, then His sins would have indeed been washed away (Acts 22:16).

He got baptized as an example for us to follow.

1Jo 2:5, But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
1Jo 2:6, He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

You have a problem

If you say you have been saved by baptism in water [or were you sprinkled as a babe?] you need to testify to your experience.

Our faith is first of all an event, an experience before it becomes a doctrine. Doctrines are formed by the experiences of all the saints of God down through the ages, revelations they have had first hand.

First we are saved then we learn the doctrines concerning salvation, the same is true of sanctification.

So what has been YOUR experience? we need to hear your testimony for you say you were saved by being baptised in water.

How did this salvation manifest itself in your life and experience? how were you changed inwardly? how did the new birth happen to you?

In what way was your life made forever different to the life you had before you were baptised?

We see here typical new age religionists who cast scriptures aside in violation of the Bible...in attempt to support their new age religion bible writings and interpretations.

My doctrines are orthodox.

In Acts 2:38-39, we find a conditional promise...the Holy Ghost is promised to those who will fulfill the condition established in the passage...Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ (of Nazareth, Acts 4:10-12) for the remission of sins...and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

The promise is remission of sins and the Holy Ghost...the condition: repentance and baptism in Jesus' Name.

I do believe that the promise of the Holy Ghost = salvation; based on Romans 8:9.

Notice in Acts 2:39, that the promise is to as many as the Lord our God shall call.

If anyone really considers how this concept applies to what we find written in Romans 8:30, I believe that they will see a doctrine...that Acts 2:38 baptism is necessary for salvation.

Sometimes I bring in a soft sell and say that you can receive the Holy Ghost by simply asking, seeking, and knocking (Luke 11:9-13).

The only thing I would say about that is, how does one walk through the door after he has knocked on it?

Jesus is the door; and we walk through the door by identifying with Him in His death, burial, and resurrection; thus confessing Him before men.

Now read Matthew 10:32, and Luke 12:8.

WOW..what a adventurist...and a wrong one at that. You probably accept sprinkling as ok by the Bible....it is not.

I was water baptized at the age of 42., so go guess wrong again as a way to ask a question.
If you would have asked for information I would have given it to you.

And yet Cornelius and all his household were saved and baptised in the Holy Ghost while Peter was still speaking [ ... before he could get on to conditions such as baptism, so many of us perceive]

This is why we affirm positively that salvation or for that matter the baptism of the Holy Spirit does not depend upon water baptism

We never the less believe we should be baptised in water in accordance with the scripture.

The church at the time of Cornelius was in a time of transition...Gentiles were not yet accepted as being able to be members of the body of Christ.

If God had not proven that Gentiles could be saved by giving Cornelius and friends the gift of the Holy Ghost, the circumcision group would have never allowed them to be baptized; or else that would not have recognized their baptisms as valid if Peter had gone ahead with them apart from God first proving that they were saved; by giving them the gift of tongues.

God knew that each one of those whom he gave the gift of tongues would immediately baptized; even as occurred in that story..

In that instance God gave them the remission of sins through baptism in Jesus' Name...while they already had the gift of the Holy Ghost.

In Acts 2:38-39 and context, the people received the Holy Ghost (salvation) even as the result of baptism in Jesus' Name.

I would contend that the instance with Cornelius was an exception to the rule.

I myself received the gift of tongues before I was baptized in Jesus' Name.

Because I had the Holy Spirit, I did not reject baptism in Jesus' Name when it was offered to me...for the promise that was offered to me, while I already had the gift of the Holy Ghost, was remission of sins.

Remission of sins and the gift of the Holy Ghost is absolutely promised to those who will fulfill the condition of the promise in Acts 2:38-39.

That condition is repentance and baptism in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth for the remission of sins.

If you have doubts about whether you have one or the other (either the gift of the Holy Ghost or remission of sins), then it is good for you to surrender to baptism in Jesus' Name; so that you can most assuredly receive the promise.

You folks have to PROVE that you were saved by being baptised in water. The common consensus of the church down through the ages [each one testifying] is that they were saved when they believed the gospel message.

HOW did water baptism save you? in what manner did you become new creatures? how did the new birth manifest itself at the point of baptism forwards?

All these things are testified to by believing the message and calling upon the Lord in faith.
