time for people to wake up, and KNOW Jesus is coming...do NOT be a coward, and check out Spencer Smith's research on the Christian music, and I suggest getting his book on the lie of Christian Rock n' Roll, I read it in ONE day and have had a knowledge that God has impressed on me! I KNOW there is no rapture, and he believes in the rapture, but his research on music, I know God has shown him!!

There are only a relative few contemporary Christian songs that I like (the more doctrinally sound ones). And of course I like the old hymns.

I get it, I did too, and not going to lie, I have a few on my MP3 player singing the old hymns because their voices are good, however, we honestly should NOT condone sinfulness and allowing these people any type of recognition is that reason why I said what I said. Plus many people do not realize the wrongness of this type of music.

Ah, such confidence. Funny how countless Christians believe in the rapture just fervently as you do not. And for exactly the same reasons.

I play the guitar. Decades ago the Lord warned me that music can be a great blessing or dangerous. Way too much music appeals the emotion, the soul, rather than edifying the spirit. I've turned the sound down on some meetings and looked at the crowds. No one would know that it was Christian.

1 Corinthians 14: …39So, my brothers, be eager to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues. 40But everything must be done in a proper and orderly manner.

Verse 33
For God is not a God of disorder, but of peace--as in all the churches of the saints.

A rock concert atmosphere is hardly orderly or peaceful. Liberty is good, but not when it is a near riot set to music.

Howdy 1John and welcome to the forum.

I have heard many preachers preach against many things they don't like, from coffee to tennis shoes. Then a preacher's own wife said, "Aw hush Frank, you never did like tennis shoes."

Just because you don't like something doesn't mean it is evil, and it doesn't mean people who enjoy it are doing wrong.

having grown up with recorded music in house full of sound I can tell you that much of that was recorded to make money for very fat music executives. If it was Christian it would have been recorded for the 'Christian market' as that is how the music industry works. I couldnt really tell the difference as a lot of contemporary christian music just sounds like secular music except with a few christian sounding lyrics...not, as you might expect, a 'heavenly sound' or even in harmony.

I dont begrudge musicians trying to make a living from their music but the music industry does feed off them and sucks away their soul.

Justin Smith is a clown.

But I agree modern, so-called Christian worship music is simply a way to put people ($$$) in the seats. It's all big business; nothing at all to do with Christianity.
