I used to say "If I knew then what I know now......" However, at 55, and divorced after 20yrs of marriage, I realize it never really mattered!

Yeah', loneliness sucks...

But I never felt more "angry and alone" than I did the last 5yrs of my marriage! THANK GOD THAT'S OVER!

ooh

well welcome to singledom

I think there are pros and cons to marriage and some people are definitely conned.

Personally I dont see the appeal of being in bondage to someone and for women, often it can be like slavery, and I dont really wanna be a slave to anybody (husband, house or children) . it is hard enough being just a daughter! (of course, daughters are expected to be PERFECT. Mothers want nothing less)

Enjoy your freedom. :)

I can relate; being unhappily single is far superior to being unhappily married.

Howdy and welcome to the forum.

Marriage seems to accentuate everything. If you are unhappy, you will be more unhappy. If you are happy, you will be more happy.

Mind you, this is only what I have observed from others. I've been single my whole life and I'm not really in a hurry to change that.

The scale seems to go:
BAD--unhappily married--unhappily single--happily single--happily married--GOOD

I am currently at happily single. Come on up! We have cookies, soda and pretzels up here.

Ah yes!.. Married and alone is no fun. There are others here with similar experience. Don't get in a hurry to jump back in.

Five years single now, lol! No, not in any hurry!
That's actually what I mean by "Age, Religion, Politics......" The odds are against us from the start and only get worse lol.

On a high note, I've really learned to enjoy cooking :)

Ah, THAT'S what the title had to do with it! I was curious, but not curious enough to pester you about it.
