The starting point is this: Has your heart been Circumcised by Christ?

[Rom 2:29 NLT] "No, a true Jew is one whose heart is right with God. And true circumcision is not merely obeying the letter of the law; rather, it is a change of heart produced by God's Spirit. And a person with a changed heart seeks praise from God, not from people."

Though Paul is writing to Jews in the above passage, the Gospel is the same for all people. Our hearts must be changed by God, the Spirit, and by Christ . . . our Triune God. Deut 30:6, the above passage, and Colossians 2:9-15 shows that all three of the Godhead take responsibility for Circumcision of the Heart.

This is the basis by which True Christianity rests. There are no more important Seven verses in the Bible than what I have pasted below. Memorize them. Write them upon the Tablets of your Hearts. These passages will provide light to not only your entire life, but to the entire Bible. The Bible was written around Colossians 2:9-15.

[Col 2:9-15 NLT] "For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. 10 So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority. 11 When you came to Christ, you were "circumcised," but not by a physical procedure. Christ performed a spiritual circumcision--the cutting away of your sinful nature. 12 For you were buried with Christ when you were baptized. And with him you were raised to new life because you trusted the mighty power of God, who raised Christ from the dead. 13 You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. 14 He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. 15 In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross."

To understand the Gospel, we must be able to EXPLAIN the following:

1) The Purpose of Christ
2) The Work of Christ
3) The Effect of Christ

What are the definition to being a Christian?

There is only one True definition as far as I know ------you become a Christ--ian -----when you receive Jesus as your Lord and Saviour ---

There are many other definitions I am sure ----but that is what the Word was meant for in Scripture

The Word Christian is used muchly and very loosely today ------and really means not much of anything to a lot of people ---They just like saying the word Christian --I think it makes them feel like they belong to the right Man made Religion -----just my view

But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (John 1:12,13)

Showing someone Christianity in a few verses is like trying to tell someone what marriage is like in a few verses. To complicate it is to realize that what God thinks Christianity is and what each of us humans thinks is usually a bit different.

Christianity changes a life or it is only words. It is a way of being and living. For one person the words “make Christ your Lord and Savior” explains it all. What the world tells the Christian to do means nothing any more, Christ leads all the moments of his life. To others it is a true doctrine of Christianity, but has nothing to do with how to live.

I think the most convincing way to use the bible to show God’s plan for them is to take them to the very beginning of God’s plan to save them from the death that Adam and Eve brought to them when they ate of the tree of knowledge and opened sin to our world.

God immediately gave blood for our sin as it explains in Lev. 17:11. To show this to Adam and Eve, God sacrificed an animal for the skins to cover their nakedness.

For over 4,000 years, animals were used as the sacrifice that prophesied the sacrifice of Christ. Christ fulfilled that prophesy, and we use the sacrifice of Christ for the forgiveness of our sin.

Romans 1:2-5 the gospel he promised beforehand through his prophets in the Holy Scriptures 3 regarding his Son, who as to his earthly life[a] was a descendant of David, 4 and who through the Spirit of holiness was appointed the Son of God in power[b] by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord. 5 Through him we received grace and apostleship to call all the Gentiles to the obedience that comes from[c] faith for his name’s sake

When we give up living under the ways of the world and accept living by the way’s scripture explains are God’s ways, we are living as a Christian. We are given, not only scripture, but directions within us through the Holy Spirit that we can contact through prayer.

you said -------t is to realize that what God thinks Christianity

God won't have any thoughts about what Christianity is -----as God has No Religion and Christianity is a Man Made Religion --the word Christian was used by the some non Believers as making fun of anyone following Jesus Christ ------Paul kept the name -----

Acts 11:26

This verse notes some of the origins of the term "Christian." It was almost certainly coined by non-Christian Gentiles. Although "Christ" is Greek, "-ian" is a Latin addition, as in Marian or Herodian. This suffix means "of the party of…" and was used to mean those who imitated or supported some figure. To some extent, this made the term "Christian" an expression of sarcasm or derision. Peter hints at this in his writings (1 Peter 4:16

Christianity changes a life or it is only words. I
Christianity is only a Religion and cannot change a life -----Only Jesus can do that -----and please know --that No where in Scripture did God the Father or God the Son say Follow our Christianity Religion ---or Judaism Religion or Catholic Religion or any other Religion ------God is Spirit and has no Religion --Jesus actually criticised the Religion of Judaism of the Jewish people the Pharisees and Scribes added their own rules to God's Laws and Jesus was not happy with their man made rules ---Christianity is no different than Judaism or any other Religion -----

Jesus said Follow My Way ------and the Disciples were Followers of The Way ---Not Christianity or any other Religions ----

How a sinner is transformed into a disciple is more fundamental to the "definition". See John 3.
yeah he’s asking for a simple way to explain it is the thing. The simplest way to identify a Christian is they are by definition disciples of Jesus Christ

he is thier lord and teacher they are his followers who believe in him and his ways

...to be Christ like is what a Christian is defined as...

1 John 2:6
Whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.
1 Corinthians 11:1
Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ.
Ephesians 5:1-2
Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

Yes christian means being Christ-like , you beat me to it, but sometimes its hard to detect in some "christian" people.

Christ called the disciples to follow him and taught them that he was the Messiah which is what Christ means. So to follow Christ was to be a Christian because that's what the Greek word Christianos means.
