Talk about having the heart circumcised.
You're being funny, right? You realize that this has nothing to do with the Circumcision of Christ, right? Acts 2:37 references the heart in a different kind of way. It isn't related to Colossians 2:9-15 at all.

If you can't then I say you need to critically study the word instead of thinking you already know it all.
Scripture says even an humble child can understand.......yeah yeah,i know i gave you my 999 thumbs down.😂😂😂😂😂😂 Nothing is sadder than a man past forty that you have to say to GROW UP!
And you're my example to follow?

Sorry, but the way you berate me does nothing to my psychology. You're opinions of me are not so powerful and great that they have any effect upon me . . . in . . . the . . . least.

That said, if you'd like to continue to show your true colors, here, to put on display for all to see . . . have at it. I couldn't care less.

Oh . . . I am the recipient of your 135th thumbs down! You're so sweet. I'm sure that you'll lay down your head tonight and feel like what you've done, you did it to Christ.

Matthew 25:40 NIV - "The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me."

The bible contains 66 books by 40 different authors inspired by God.
With in these books we have 4 which we refer to as the gospels.
Now have you ever considered that you also are writings a gospel? Maybe not a pen to paper sorta thing but as you live your life in Christ what have your examples been? What words come out of your mouth? Your actions suggest?
What would your spouse say? Your neighbors your friends? Your children?
The 4 gospels are full of knowledge, and wisdom, and truth but if they are read just as a story we would see that it involves common people embarking on a journey of faith just the same as you and I.
The gospel tells us of their beliefs and unbelief. Their fears, their doubts, and failures.
Nothing has really changed other than we cannot see Christ in the physical....but that's suppose to be our part..( a talk for another time).
So what does your gospel say about life in Christ to others?

Your life is composed here...
The gospel according to.....bob the truck driver
The gospel according to ..... Carol the hair dresser
The gospel according to.......fred the store manager
The gospel according to........????? You
I was visiting a church in Carson City Nevada one time and the person teaching the Bible lesson said. You may be the only Bible someone ever reads. It was a profound statement that I have never forgotten and believe me I don't remember many church sermons and this wasn't even a sermon but in the Bible lesson study group... It does make you stop and think what kind of an example am I putting out there?

The gospel is not a matter of knowing scripture it is the matter of knowing jesus.
The Pharisees knew scripture, the scribes, the rabbi, well acquainted with the scrolls.
Little did they know the scriptures pointed to the one who they rejected. How sad.
God wanted us more than ever to know his son, to hear him, to follow him.
In turn jesus said to know him is to know the father.
In the old testament God guided the nation of Israel with super natural interventions, miracles beyond our imagination. He has scared the land as a testament to his glory and judgement.
History cannot deny and the dust of the earth has given up proof of the existence of the all mighty.

Then behold God comes in the flesh, his word becomes flesh, his truth becomes flesh. Why?
Because God wants his love to be seen and shared throughout the world.
Jesus has not only commanded us but also enabled us to do this.

Any author of a good book wants to introduce his readers with a captivating scenario that can be imagined as well as seen as a possibility. .....(creation) .
He then leads his readers to the first devastation and it's ripple effects and discloses a mystery....(the fall)
He then leads us to a pre conclusion with a glimmer of hope.....story of noah.
He then opens up the story line.....from abraham to Christ.
Then introduced is the hero.... Jesus
Against all odds he prevails, teaching by example. Knowing that the task at hand is time sensitive he gives charge to those that believe in the cause to carry on the ministry.
He departed in full confidence of his charge with a promise to return.

thats where we are right now but what are we doing?

I like your points...it's not What you know it's Who you know. If you know the Who you will automatically do What is expected such as the Bible study and helping our fellow men find Jesus so they can know Him too. Therefore creating more followers of Jesus and more living Bibles reflecting Jesus.

It was kind of sad to see a lovely post about reflecting Jesus turn into a Gospel fighting match. We all need a lot of improvement on the reflecting Jesus and being the readable Bible that will lead people to Him....

I appreciate what the OP was trying to put out there and I wish more people got it.

Agreed. It was a great thread, but then the wolves come out. Many of us are intellectually assaulted on a daily basis by today's modern-day "christian."

Now some may get this some not but in the book of revelation the Lord said
And the names that were not found in the book of life were cast into the lake of fire.

We enter in by faith which is described as evidence not yet seen.
We are a part of that evidence that is not yet seen...(Jesus).

I'm curious . . . do you feel that you're in any sense of danger with the Lord as you openly mock people on this site? You do it recklessly; seemingly without care or concern . . . and am thus genuinely concerned for you.

Jesus Said:
Matthew 5:22 NLT - "But I say, if you are even angry with someone, you are subject to judgment! If you call someone an idiot, you are in danger of being brought before the court. And if you curse someone, you are in danger of the fires of hell."

I mean, I could list out every church that I've attended, but I don't think that you quite understand what I'm getting at.
Every church you've been in teaches penal substitution, which I'm sure you know is the belief that God exacted justice for sin by punishing his innocent Son instead of guilty sinners. That's heresy.

And what I'm getting at is this . . . you didn't share the Gospel. In fact, you didn't even come close. Sorry. I'm not trying to be rude or cruel; I'm just telling you the truth.

If you want to know and understand the Gospel, you can simply described it; you have to explain it.
I know you're not trying to be rude or cruel. I'll explain the gospel very plainly. Our sweet Lord didn't exact justice against wicked men , who contradicted him, spit on him, beat him, mocked him and nailed him to a cross. He bore all these sins without ripping their stupid heads off!!! That's called GRACE. Giving the ungodly time to repent for committing horrible sins against our Creator who visited us as a man. That's very good news!!!

When you can answer the three below questions, this will be the Gospel.

1) What is the Purpose of Christ?
that your faith and hope might be in God. 1Pet.1:21

2) What is the Work of Christ?
This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

3) What is the Effect of Christ?
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

My best to you also.

I never joke about the filthy godless unmerciful unrighteous sin that was heaped on Jesus who would forgive it all. I told you if that doesn't cause a circumcised heart, nothing will. Acts 2 has Peter interpreting the scriptures correctly, which caused a change of heart within people. That's the beginning of the work of the Spirit on people.

Well, all I can say is this: We're not going to be able to resolve any of this through keyboards and monitors. We would apparently need to have a sit-down, face-to-face conversation and go over Scripture one verse at a time without bypassing any of them.

Take care.

I told you if that doesn't cause a circumcised heart, nothing will.
This statement isn't rational. It makes no sense. Things don't cause Spirituatual Circumcision . . . Jesus performs it. Some Bibles refer to this act of Christ as an Operation of Faith. What you're teaching is that things can perform a heart transplant. Doctors perform heart transplants, not things, concepts, experiences, or ideas.

I've given you the Scripture that makes these things clear, but you're not even acknowledging them. When this happens, there is absolutely no sense in continuing. If we continue, it is likely that we'll just spin in senseless circles, you may become upset, call me a "know it all" as some do, here . . . and that's not why I'm here. I am here to converse with folks whose minds are just as open to learning as is mine.

@Journeyman ,
It's a fruitless and thankless waste of effort to try and tell some the truth.
They instead do the very things towards you they accuse others of doing to them.

Little minds you know can't handle big ideas, they get stuck on certain words or a word and everyone else is wrong but them.

Might do them good just to read and study awhile what people say. The ones you talk to are NOT going to do that though, they've got to be HEARD bc they are RIGHT.

I noticed you put a frown on this post and I just wanted to say that I am sorry you are sad. If we keep our eyes on Jesus He can turn that frown upside down and put a smile on your face. Hope you have a great day and smile it looks nice on you.

Oh my dear sister, I am sorry. I thought that emoji was just sad and I was in agreement with you that it turned sour.
I apologize if any thing I said was offensive to any.
There are people here that are one liners in what they believe and REFUSE to see truth when it presented to them.
I respect @pottersclay and meant no disrespect to him.

I understood the gospel correctly long after I thought I knew it. I simply put the scriptures a Jewish man shated with me under a microscope. It still amazes me how wrong I was.

Jesus did circumcise my heart by what he did. He cut me long after I professed to know him.
