Hi,you will get a ton of different opinions, but try not to get confused.
It's not a part of salvations plan so take everything with a grain of salt. Then take it to the Lord, the Spirit can give you any answer you seek if it's God's will.

Sons of God (angels - actually fallen and/or disobedient angels). Daughters of men - what it means, women born to Adam and his descendants.

Sons of god another name for angels. Just like in the story of Job---1:6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them. Daughters of men speak for themselves

It is my understanding that whenever the phrase bene ha Elohim, translated sons of God, is used in the Old Testament, it is referring to angels.
Genesis 6 talks about the sons of God finding the daughters of men attractive and taking them as wives. These angels were called Watchers.
The children of these unholy unions were called the Nephilim and were, I believe, the root cause of the great flood.

I really like to let my mind wander when I read this Verse:
There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

It's the portion about
became mighty men which were of old, men of renown that i find most fascinating.

We know about Goliath and the Ancient Philistines. But before the Flood, every Nation had these Men of Renown. They were legends.

When we think of legends we think about the Ancient Spartans of Greece and their fabled tales against other Ancient Warriors. We think of Alexander the Great, or maybe about Samurais Warriors, and there's many to list.

But here in Genesis Chapter 6, the Holy Spirit tells us these Nephilim became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. I am a big fan of Ancient discovery like the Pyramids, and many other Ancient Ruins. I could see these mighty Giants being able to build great structures that the Flood destroyed.

Sons of God were men and part of the priesthood of rulers like Melchizedek. They were to only do what God showed them to do. Instead, they married any woman they wanted, even women of no place in God. There has never been nor will there ever be sex between demons and men. They are incompatible.

Christ came to restore this priesthood. He is now the High Priest in the order of Melchizedek. And all sons of God (men and women) are charged with the same standard: do only what they see their Father doing.

one of the big errors of translation is trying to make the same term in JOB mean something in Genesis 6. The word is the same but the context are not.

Sons of God with satan = angels the book of Job contextually
son of God with the daughters on men = men with women in Genesis 6. contextually.

funny I don't see a biblical response to refute the comments made in disagreement with your understanding of Genesis chapter 6.

Maybe in an hour huh?

The LORD saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. The LORD regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled. So the LORD said, "I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created-and with them the animals, the birds and the creatures that move along the ground-for I regret that I have made them."

I guess it's it's just my feeble attempt at trying to get people to be civil and allow others to believe what they do...I should know better!

Here’s a question, if in Job 1:6 Satan is named among those who are called the “Sons of God” and he’s given jobs and responsibilities then why are the children of the devil not viewed favorably in the New Testament?

In Revelation 12 there’s a war in heaven and the devil, also known as Satan, is cast to earth, and is the “god of this world.” So the war in heaven must have already happened. Right?

I’m mostly interested in hearing any disagreements with this. Not to argue, but to get a different perspective. Thank you.
