Salvation has two parts. God did His part on the Cross. Our part to walk (not work) in the light. Works are actually things that God accomplishes through us when we walk in love and light. See Ephesians 5:2,8.

Ephesians
5:1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;
5:2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
5:3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
5:4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
5:5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
5:6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
5:7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them.
5:8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now [are ye] light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
5:9 (For the fruit of the Spirit [is] in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)
5:10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove [them].
5:12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.
5:13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.
5:14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
5:15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
5:16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
5:17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord [is].
5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
5:19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
5:20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
5:21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

It is not the work, but the walk, which pleases the Lord.

Amen to this great post of we take it all in it will lead us to a wonderful place !!!

“Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend

that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭3:12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

we have our role to follow after him and he’s done his part to provide our direction and salvation all that’s left is to believe and start taking those steps that call us out of the boat. Even if we fall he’s going to save us and set us back on solid ground

“And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.

But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭14:28-31‬ ‭KJV‬‬

he’s gently calling us out of the boat to walk by faith and he’s always there to rescue us in our weaknesses as well we just hear and follow after him when we hear him calling us forth we should step out and follow him

we walk by faith and faith comes from hearing him calling us out and trust him rather than seeing the waves and winds and the fact we’re walking on Water like men shouldn’t be able to do we’re walking to him looking at him trusting in his word to keep us afloat

bekng called here

“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭3:13-15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

In the book of 1 John 4:8 it states that God is love. I believe that this is is an instrumental foundation block to start with in finding out who God is and what He is about.

Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?

My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.”

amen ... such amazing truth in these verses. I would only add that these verses show the steps the believer takes in this life:

The first step is to walk in love. When we first come to Christ we no longer partake in those things set forth in vss 3-7 because we love the Lord Jesus Christ ... and this is a process all believers go through. The things (sins) we used to enjoy actually cause us anguish because we are convicted in our hearts when we turn from Christ to the pleasures of the flesh.

Then we walk in light (vs 8) because in our walk in love, we put off those things which darken our path ... the works of the flesh. We learn God's Word and His Word brings light to our life so we are able to recognize if/when we stray to the right or to the left. We stay on the path laid out before us. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path (Psalm 119:105).

Then we walk circumspectly (vs 15). To walk circumspectly means we are careful and accurate.

The word "circumspectly" is translated from the Greek word akribós which means extremely accurate, very exact ... The root (akrib-) refers to gaining exact information with the highest level of accuracy ("exactness") and is acquired by probing investigation to provide a comprehensive circumspect (precise) view in strict adherence to the facts (HELPS Word-studies).

So we start with our walk in love ... which leads to our walk in light ... and once we have the light to shine on our life, we are able to walk circumspectly ... to place our steps accurately and precisely as we follow in the footsteps of the Lord Jesus Christ. We follow Him as He leads us through this life.

walk in love ... walk in light ... walk circumspectly :cool:

If we obey the law to love we don't need any other law. If we love we do not murder, lie, of steal.

amen

Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.

But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭13:8-14‬ ‭KJV‬‬
