One thing I find especially curious is how so many Charismatics insist on the Holy Spirit only; yet on the other hand they're maniacal about their degrees and titles.

What's even more curious is how so many people fail—or refuse—to notice their glaring hypocrisy.
When push comes to shove, those, or we, who comprise the Body of Jesus Yeshua may only be taught of the Holy Spirit. This occurs directly to the individual from Him or via someone sent sharing the Word.
I believe if you believe it can only be by the Holy Spirit. As for higher education, it has little or nothing to do with learning truly the Word.
Keep in mind we all know what we have been taught by Him, and no one, other than our Lord, knows the Word perfectly. Where we are missing, faith fills in our need until what is missing is built upon from the Holy Spirit.

Because they want people to think they are smarter than they really are. They want the image more than the knowledge itself.

the disciples spent 3 years of their life following Jesus. They did not go back to their fishing jobs. It was three years totally dedicated learning from the Master, where they lived ate and breathed in His presence. A
When they had completed this course...they were THEN sent out only after they received the holy spirit.
The holy spirit was like their graduation gift.

YES there were drop outs. Some failed...Judas anyone? Some turned away. if they didnt receive the Holy Spirit then it was all for naught, they had to be there...but NOBODY receives the Holy Spirit without at least some instruction on what to do. Even the eunuch needed help to understand scripture and Phillip was there to help him open his eyes (as jesus actually did with people). Mary was told it was vitally imprtant that she listen to Jesus even more than doing housework

I am rather tired of people who dismiss the importance of literacy in education, formal, informal or otherwise.

if people want to LIE and fake claim they have received a doctorate when they havent well its on them - they'll soon be found out!

Some people do receive honorary doctorates but its because they are recognised widely for the work or scholarship that they have done.

It's funny you should ask this because for the last six months or so I've received mail that addresses me as doctor. lol

I'm even pre-qualified for a loan to broaden my practice.

How's that happen?

I suppose there are legitimate cases of honorary doctorates well deserved. It is possible to know much more on a subject than someone who has a doctorate. One can be self taught and have read all the same books and many more in addition to the ones required by the student who earned a doctorate. And that same one could have spent an additional 30 years studying the manuscripts in extant and should be teaching in a seminary and is looked up to by professors with doctorates. Such a one deserves such an honorary degree.

I have seen it abused in real life and where it was given to a false prophet who was dumber than a box of rocks when it came to interpreting just about any scripture he presented to teach false prosperity nonsense. That was so annoying.

I could be wrong but if someone calls themselves a doctor, who has a website advertising their ministry, and they don't have any information about where they earned their doctorates it is probably because it is not respected and they don't want it to be open to ridicule. Why else wouldn't they post that information. If they can't tell you where they earned the degree they shouldn't use the title.

Now I hope they read this forum and amend there ways, but I highly doubt it. LOL
