I would not call the KJV corrupt. I would call it not perfect. There is no perfect english bible.

The bible was meant to be read. Its over all message should tug on your heart and mind.
Then we begin to search the scriptures and study to see if it is true.
As the scriptures say, a little here a little there.
We are not capable to digest the whole bible content but it will bring us to the truth of the Christ and of ourselves.

The KJV is not corrupt.

But the band of Onlyist devotees committed to destroying the faith of other Christians is corrupt.
You know who you are.

I think this particular thread might be clickbait to attract their attention.

What you call "destroying the faith of other Christians," I call exalting and defending the word of God.

Fair points. My mom taught me from the KJV... but then she also taught me Shakespeare, also written in Early Modern or Elizabethan English.
Interesting. My mother used the KJV but disliked The Bard. I like Shakespeare very much but dislike the KJV.
The reason being that in reading Shakespeare I have a different cap on - so to speak. It's a leisure pursuit.
My Bible reading is for serious research (not that it has no poetic value) but the 2 areas of study have different purposes.

I like correct English translated from the entire pool of original language manuscripts.
We are fortunate to have some very good translations at our fingertips. The KJV being one of many.

King James and the Bishops who created the King James Bible had an agenda. They wanted something that would supplant the Geneva Bible which they felt gave people the wrong idea that they had a say in what they believed rather than being dictated to by the "church." In that sense yeah, I'd say it's corrupt.

It has the Textus Receptus going for it but as an English language Bible it's just mediocre. The language was outdated even in 1511. The only people who still used it were high literary types like Shakespeare. It wasn't so much a translation as a revision of previous versions. Translation was part of it but not a huge part.

Thanks for your opinion...God used this "corrupt" version to spur on the greatest world evangelistic outreach in history. The greatest preachers through the years believed it was THE word of God preserved in the English language. You call it corrupt.

You can call your warfare on other believers anything you like.
Do you have a bible you will defend and exalt as the word of God? Why defend something that has mistakes? What claim a version is the word of God when it has errors?

Okay.

Think about this John. If God spurred an evangelical outreach I'm quite sure it was by His Holy Spirit not the King James Bible. That's what people had so that's what they used. But God is able to raise up out of the stones children for Abraham.

Seriously? You do NOT give God MORE CREDIT THAN THAT? That He would ALLOW a group of men to take His Holy Scriptures and CORRUPT THEM?

I do not know what God you pray to, BUT MY GOD IS FAR MORE POWERFUL than a group of men translating Scripture from the Hebrew and Greek.

Now, IF ANYONE here was present while the translation was being done, and they have firsthand knowledge that those translating the Scriptures were themselves motivated by corrupt spirits and NOT the Holy Spirit. THEN, they may have an argument to make.

Otherwise.................get over it!

The KJV and the Complete Jewish Bible were certainly NOT translated by the same group of men, YET, they are ALMOST a mirror image of each other.

I believe God will PROTECT HIS WORD

You're a fanatic and don't have any common sense. I'm wasting my time even typing this right now.

I give my life to the Word of God. No problems doing that.

God's Word IS NOT CORRUPT!

Any who say it is, is not worthy of Him IMO.

There are several Translation of Scripture from the Hebrew and Greek one can choose to read..................HOWEVER, to choose ONE, and then CONDEMN the other as CORRUPT is not the act of a Christ led spirit IMO.

Do you have a bible you can trust? Every word? If not, I understand your position. You become the final authority on what God has said.

A fanatic? Yes, A fanatic for GOD!

Now, if you are implying I am a KJV ONLY person, you are dead wrong............

Since it was published, people have been trying to disprove the KJV Bible, and prove it to be corrupt and not truth............yeah, wonder how that's going for them?

The KJV is STILL HERE, and they are not.........and those who disparage it today will soon be gone as well. But the KJV will still be here...........

His Word stands as Truth.

If your goal is to prove that Gods Word is corrupt, then YES! You are wasting your time, AND OURS........

Gods word was written over 2000 years ago.

What you have today are translations of Gods word.

Some are very good translations. Others are lacking. But there is no perfect English bibles..
