I have given my life to the lord, I am very happy and filled but I know this feeling will not last, I still have many trials to face but one thing I do know is if anything ever seems so very strong and tempting is I must pray and tell that whichever is tempting NO, but I’d like some advice maybe even a prayer? God bless you all

You are correct in saying you still have many trials to face. Take comfort in the fact that God will neither leave nor forsake you. My advice about prayer is to talk to God like in a conversation. That's mainly what I do. The only prayer I generally say is the Lord's prayer and make it a point to say it once a day before I head out the door to face the world once again. Glad to have you onboard with us. God bless you too. Welcome to CC.

~ Welcome ~
I love new believers ....I want to be one ....That is a great way to start each new day....
You start off with the same abilities that that the seasoned believers have.... only with a refreshing mind set to conquer the world ....Don't ever loose that.
Sometimes I get so wrapped up in research I loose sight of the simplicity of the Word.... which is based in love...and love never fails. Trust God and live love .....and everyday wake up a new believer. ....I think that is going to be my moto from now on.

Welcome, thanks for your testimony. The most important thing for us is complete dependence on Lord Jesus. We need to see that we can do nothing without Him. Our course for each day is set in the morning, when we spend time with the Lord. It has to be our highest priority. We need to know his Word as revealed in the Bible. Even more important is to get to know Jesus. He is real, alive, invisible yes, but He longs to be your friend. He will reveal Himself to you. All you have to do is ask.

Hi Isaiah
it was a real blessing to read what you said. I have been walking with the Lord for 26 years or more now and have suffered many trials. I would say that finding a good church where they really do preach the Bible and they have the love of God in them is very important. You need the prayer back up and also you will be a blessing to them just by being there. It will also regularly feed you, also.
It’s true what others have said here, that we totally depend on Him in all things. I am very encouraged by listening to Charles Stanley on Youtube.
Also the Bible tells us to be filled with the Spirit, and I do ask Him to fill me, throughout my walk it is something I do, because it says that the true worshippers worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.
Most importantly is reading the Bible... I don’t always find this easy... I often ask Him where I should read from or to help me read; I can get easily distracted. The difference though, reading the Word makes, is phenomenal, and there are times when I’ve really got into reading it and it’s been so amazing, and even speaks to me about personal stuff going on in my life. The deeper I study, the more blessed I get, very often. Also the more I seek Him in prayer, with Him as my First Love, the more blessed I am🤗

He will help you, just keep asking. Keep loving Him, keep trusting Him. Keep your eyes looking to Him, trusting, no matter what the circumstances in life are. God bless you. And well done for asking this👍

Nice to meet you and glad to have you joining in the Forums with us😆 Good advise above to start the day with a prayer and also to cast off imaginations and anything that goes against the knowledge of God 2 Cor 10:5. God bless you!

I should be the last one saying this, but...

Trust, even when it makes absolutely no sense. This is maybe the hardest thing for any Christian to do, yet it is imperative. Satan wants you to push Jesus aside, and he and his minions (demons) will fill your mind with all sorts of BS about God's faithfulness and goodness in those times. You must hang on.

Temptations are going to come. You will resist some, fall into others. God will not condemn you, as He promises in Romans. BUT... don't take that grace for granted (we certainly wouldn't want anyone doing that to us). Be truly repentant, dust yourself off and resume your walk.

Christianity is not, contrary to the world's idiocy, for sissies. We are called to defy gravity, not fall. We are called to swim upstream, not let ourselves go with the current. We have to defy our sinful nature, the world surrenders to it. Who are the wimps?

Keep plugging, keep pushing through no matter how bad (or good) things get. Lose sight of Christ in neither state. Don't think you need Him any less when things are good than when things are not so good.

I could go on, but this is already becoming a treatise.

I would like to see this finished as an essay perhaps. You're onto something!

Welcome to the family of God!

I'm going to tell you something so that if something like this happens to you, you will not be surprised or discouraged. It is not uncommon for new believers to experience a time of extreme suffering and testing after they are saved. I was saved in 2016 (though raised in a Christian family) and the years after my salvation were extremely hard.

Christ promised we would have trials and tribulations in the world. Suffering is part of the deal. God uses suffering and difficulty to shape His children more into the image of Christ. If God sees fit to allow such in your life, be patient and endure, understanding that you are being counted worthy to endure suffering as Christ did.

Rom_5:3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

Jas_1:3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

And if you don't have trials in your life at the moment... great! Be thankful for that and enjoy the good times, but don't let them distract you from the big picture.

Yes... the enemy will try to discourage you early on.

DO

NOT

LET

HIM

You are going to mess up. That's why it's called 'grace'. God is ready and willing to pardon the screw up of any sincerely repentant person.

Stick with it, ignore the mental attacks of the enemy, and grow to become a thorn in his side :D

God doesn't give you a temptation you cannot bear. 1 Corinthians 10:13

Trust the Lord to strengthen you. You can do all things in Christ who strengthens you. Philippians 4:13

We are to go through a refiners fire and be strengthened and purified by trials and tribulation.
