Nope! Not falling for that! (In the moment colloquialism)

What does that space really indicate? Am I reading too much into what you "didn't" write lol? ;)
The space? I was unsure of what it all meant, and then thinking about my uncertainty made me laugh.

I prefer the :giggle: to the  or  ... I have started using the latter two more recently than before, though.

I would not say you misunderstood it entirely :) I am not sure who coined it or the circumstances surrounding what precipitated it, either. I was simply pointing out that it has more than one application :) The case of someone's love being unrequited... probably some of those instances could not even be called love, but infatuation, obsession, fantasy, or delusion. Hopefully people learn from those experiences too. Like, what not to do LOL
Yes, this is exactly what I was trying to say. Lol. That if someone doesn’t love you back, then it isn’t worth it! It might not even be real love more like infatuation and delusion. You explained it much better than I could. ;)

For some reason I am thinking of that saying about the butterfly... do you know the one where someone sees a butterfly struggling to free itself from the cocoon following metamorphosing from a caterpillar, and, seeking to ease the butterfly's passage, helps it out of the cocoon, only to discover that the struggle is necessary in order for the butterfly to strengthen its wings enough to be able to fly? I guess it relates to this idea of loving and losing being better than not loving at all for those of us who need lessons in love: recognizing it, knowing what it is and what it is not, how to honor it. Some people seem better equipped than others in this regard. I was not one of them ;)

I think loving and being loved is the most amazing thing!

We each have unique personalities and sharing those with others can expand our view as well as theirs.

True love cannot be measured nor resended.
If you've loved and it didn't work out,you should not count it as loss.

Love is something that should be given freely with only the expectation of faithfulness to be returned.

I have loved many times but never regretted having given it nor when it was through!

When we allow what happens in our lives to make us cold or bitter,we are killing off a part of why God created us.

I definitely learned a lot about love when my grandma died of cancer four years ago. I am learning more now that dad is battling lung cancer. God teaches us through our pain.

I didn’t know that about butterflies. How amazing!!

Butterfly, such a beautiful creature, what else could I name such a
love as you
Fairy-tale spirit so light and sweet, how could I help but want you
Choose your direction as free as the wind, cast your affection
wherever it blows
Charming the eyes of all who can see because you're free; You're
free to do so
What beauty inspired by freedom could ever be tamed
What manner of man could possess you, what would be his name
How such beauty is cursed, so alluring and yet so frail
Your love is always wanted yet a different thing to be held
For to be held is certain death no matter how gentle the hand
And your love is a selfish notion that would fade in the hand of
this man
You must forgive me, but for you I have longed to have and
to hold
My desire has been to possess you, how could I have been so bold
Now you must fly for are free, I must let loose your wings
So as you fly, honey I can see, you are free to land as you please
And if I gaze sadly up at the sky and somebody asks me why
I'll say, won't you pardon me, I tried to catch a
butterfly

I love butterflies! Probably more symbolically that in actual fact, because although beautiful for sure they are still an insect LOL. AT least they don't bite! ;):giggle: I often cannot consider a panel finished until a butterfly or two (or four, or seven, or any random number really) is on it, and sometimes I will leave them off just so every single one does not have butterflies on them :D Symbolically they represent transformation: change to a higher state as pictured by an earthbound worm morphing into a multi-colored winged creature. Love has that effect on people too. At least emotionally. A good relationship will enhance both people though. It is not unusual for people to want to be better for their loved ones. I hope you get to talk to your dad :) Hold his hand... tell him you love him... and hope he truly belongs to Jesus.

Well, my scaly friend, may your... uh... inner fires never be quenched!
I wish they would be, since it seems I will never be able to quench them in a holy manner.

I know exactly what you mean. It is quite frustrating... meanwhile, I'm not getting any younger or handsomer!

I'm trying to take Tim McGraw's advice to "Always Stay Humble and Kind," to not get jaded and cynical, and to keep hoping. I'm hoping the one I'm looking for is out there, and that I'll know her when I meet her.
Yeah, the waiting and the silence in the waiting is the hard (as in 'difficult') part :D

I was sitting at my living room window one morning when a hummingbird approached me. Having no idea what it was, but seeing this flapping creature whose wings were making an audible buzz/whir sound, I immediately put up my hands to fend it off in case it was going to try to enter my apartment LOLOLOLOLOLOL. God forbid a bug that size should get into my suite! Haha, it took a startled moment before I realized what it was. Apparently it was attracted to my bright pink bathrobe :geek: Hummingbirds have approached me like that since then, too, but none were as large and noisy as that one. I don't think I would really enjoy a butterfly flapping around my ear like that either  Certainly preferable to anything else with legs like that, though ;):giggle:

I love pollinators. We have hummingbirds here in Maryland. I hope they have 'em down in Tennessee or I'll miss them.

At my brother's wedding, I was the best man. Everyone was laughing afterwards because a butterfly fluttered up and landed on me and was there the whole time, but I was so focused on making sure the ring handoff went smoothly that I didn't notice, haha!

The more swan plants you grow the more butterflies you will have
so, you dont really lose the butterflies.

If you can grow swan plants and other butterfly food all year round, the butterflies will stay.

At least, that is how I observe things working in nature

If you can provide a good home, and food supply most animals will stick around...you dont have to keep them chained up or fenced in. Thats really only for babies to keep predators out.
