God gave the task to Moses to change the multitude that followed him from a mixed crowd to people who knew and obeyed God. It was a staggering task. The way the Lord had Moses do it was to relate everyday tasks to living for God. They were tasks of the flesh, but each had a spiritual teaching.

They were to cut flesh of a newborn baby, so he was marked as belonging to God. The fleshly part of his life was cut, for God is spirit. They were given commandments to follow that they would have followed if they lived the law of love.

When Christ came, He would destroy all that Moses built, even his priesthood and temple. In its place was the fulfillment of all that was of Moses. Those who belonged to Christ became the temple, Christ became the high priest. Circumcision was done in the heart. The diet restrictions of food for the stomach was now food for the soul.

We are to learn from the laws of Moses, follow them in spirit, not in flesh.
those laws were given by the Lord, they are holy.

Because the flesh of the commands has been given to us in spirit and truth through Christ, we are not to refuse to learn from the commands given to Moses by the Lord to help them learn of God. Nor are we to follow those commands in the flesh.

Acts 6:14 ‘for we have heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place and shall change the customs that Moses delivered us.

And in the very next chapter, Saul, soon to be named Paul would help to take Christianity to an entirely new level . . . really causing some serious issues regarding those laws of required, physical circumcision made by the hands of men.

Some of your posts are just strange, Blik. Here's the FULL context of Acts 6:14, where we see that the words you quoted were spoken by paid false witnesses.

Act 6:13 And set up false witnesses, which said, This man ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and the law:
Act 6:14 For we have heard him say, that this Jesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Moses delivered us.

But here is what Jesus said:

Mat 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

However I agree that we fulfill some things spiritually and not physically, such as circumcision. Physical circumcision now profits nothing.

Jesus said he would destroy the temple. Also, in the passage below, note the discussion about the temple made by human hands . . . this is what I wrote about myself. She knows what she's talking about, bro. :)

Mark 14:58 KJV - "We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands."

This concept of things made by the hands of men and things not made by the hands of men . . . tis a deep clue to the True Gospel. :D

It seems to me that all scripture is all from God and God is a spirit, so there is spiritual meaning in the physical that we are told of. The temp;e made pf stone always symbolized the spiritual temple.

Right, Blik . . . what was written upon stone couldn't change anyone, but Laws engraved upon human Hearts . . . these are Effectual Laws.

2 Corinthians 3:3 NLT - "Clearly, you are a letter from Christ showing the result of our ministry among you. This "letter" is written not with pen and ink, but with the Spirit of the living God. It is carved not on tablets of stone, but on human hearts."

There is a reason for why God was not angry with Moses for shattering the first set of stones that contained the Laws "of Moses." They would eventually be done away with because of the Work of Christ and the Effectual Holy Spirit sent by Christ.

Our Bible is so amazing.

I see what you're saying. Spiritual versus physical interpretation.
It’s why we have a New Testament and the old is no longer preached.

flesh commandment

“Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:

Spiritual commandment of Jesus that cleanses our heart

but I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:27-28‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭7:12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Flesh command of the law

“Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:

Contrary spiritual command of Jesus

but I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:38-39‬ ‭

it’s impossible to follow both testaments. They are contrary we can follow either the flesh or spirit

“For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

we need to move out of the flesh covenant and hear and believe the spirit and life of Christ and his word which is the new covenant

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭6:63‬ ‭KJV‬‬

he himself is “the spiritual interpreter “ so we just need to believe him. But just like we can’t follow “ eye for an eye “ ways of Moses and also follow “ turn the other cheek “ ways of Jesus . the two covenants are set contrary as contrary as flesh is to spirit and they don’t mix together.

Moses law is for this purpose

“Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭3:19-20‬ ‭KJV‬

the gospel is about this

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:24‬ ‭

we want to convert to Christianity and not mix it together with Judaism. What Christ says won’t lead us into sin but will lead us to freedom from it.

the new covenant is ours, the old is equal to the rest of scripture it’s useful for learning about Jesus and the subjects of the ot that lead us to him.

Spiritual commandment of Jesus that cleanses our heart

but I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:27-28‬ ‭KJV‬‬
Oh, wow, this verse is handy for me right now. i'm trying to figure out the difference between soul and spirit. Heart is looking like "intentions". So in your verse, someone intended to commit adultery!

If your heart's intention (spirit) is to be for yourself (soul) instead of GOD, you worship death ...self-idolatry ...pride.
Biblical Love is about your hearts intention ...not animal like the carnal mind knows about.

Proverbs 16:2
All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the Lord weigheth the spirits.
Proverbs 21:2
Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts.

Hebrews 4:12 NKJV
For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Romans 8:1
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

amen if we follow the spirit

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭6:63‬ ‭KJV‬‬

there’s no condemnation

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

but if we keep trying to live by the law that condemns the flesh we’re going to be in this boat and struggle

“What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.

But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.

For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.

And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭7:7-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The answer to that conundrum is to hear and believe the gospel that sets us free and gives us life

We are given Life by becoming Born of The SPIRIT ...and then our spirit reaches for The Tree of LIFE.

Is JESUS Speaking Heart Intentions with His Words? That sounds right to me. They are Life because They are The Way to The Tree of LIFE.

“And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and to all, just as we do to you, so that He may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints.”
‭‭~I Thessalonians‬ ‭3:12-13‬

//Establish our intentions blameless.

Is entering The Kingdom, Sabbath Rest? It is rest for your spirit (intentions) ...It is rest from sin slavery/death/worldliness.

Heb 3:17-19
Now with whom was He angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness?
And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey?
So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

||| You can't be sinning and believe at the same time ...and enter His Rest.

Heb 4:3
For we who have believed do enter that rest,...

||| We have to OBEY:

Heb 4:6
Since therefore it remains that some must enter it, and those to whom it was first preached did not enter because of disobedience,

Wow, I LOVE this translation. It makes the Power and Control of God stand bold and clear (especially if verse 11 is included). It is also but another passage to add to my "collection" of verses that work against the idea of free will. And, it is but another passage that involves Spiritual Circumcision of the heart. These verses are Power Packed!

Free Will is about the freedom to call out to GOD at any time. Free Will is a thing ...you are not considering that GOD sees the future and made The Plan AFTER you made your choices. i think GOD even knows the outcomes of the choices we didn't make. We get Judged on what we chose.

The above idea of yours wouldn't be a "Plan." Instead, it would be God simply reporting what He saw. When the Lord created an Eternal Plan, it was that Plan that He set into motion.

God isn't a bystander . . . He is an Enforcer.

this is what mans heart is like since the fall and this is why we sin at all

“For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: all these evil things come from within, and defile the man.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭7:21-23‬ ‭

Jesus is speaking into us a new heart so we can be free from the motivations in our heart that is the reason we ever commit any sin at all.

if we do this it do wierd the strongholds in our heart that make us captive and is the reason we think we can’t be free from sins dominion over our lives

“(for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭10:4-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

As we hear the gospel and begin to retain and believe he is speak g righteousness into our heart and removing the roots of sin like lustful ideas which lead to adultery , hate d fridge bearing which causes us to sin against those we hold grudges and hate for , he speaks the evil oir of our hearts and then the actions change

.it’s an operation of faith because man operates outwardly by what’s inside of us what we allow to swell
In our hearts and minds leads us to actions whether right or wrong.

“And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; and should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.

For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself;

first the blade,

then the ear,

after that the full corn in the ear.

But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭4:26-29‬ ‭KJV‬‬

man operates by what’s inside us whether the gospel which creates pure hearts leading to right living just because we accept and believe or then there’s this

“but every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.”
‭‭James‬ ‭1:14-15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

everything is inward but to be healed inwardly and have our heart made right the actions are just like a fruit growing from a tree of the tree is a good tree it will bear good fruit and if the tree is diseased and corrupt the fruit will be

the fruit is our deeds but the reason we do everything we do is inside based on what our faith desires and clings to

to believe the gospel operates in us like this

“Now the parable ( luke 8:4-9) is this: The seed is the word of God.

Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.

They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.

But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭8:11-15‬ ‭

if we let Gods word the gospel into our belief and don’t let anyone take it away or let the worlds lust and temptations choke it out , it’s going to change us by faith including outward actions and we will start bearing ten fruits of the spirit and won’t be struggling with sin anymore all thanks to the gospel and believing

in e end we can’t say we are the reason but all glory will always be his for changing wicked hearts and minds to pure ones producing a bear Ed of righteousness gifted to believers

God gave the task to Moses to change the multitude that followed him from a mixed crowd to people who knew and obeyed God.
There is no "kingdom of Moses". Israel was meant to be a theocracy in the land of Canaan, with God as King. Moses did not have the power to change the mixed multitude, and that was not his mandate. He was to lead the Israelites into Canaan. But because of their constant complaining and rebellion, they made Moses so angry that he failed to follow God's instructions in speaking to the Rock (which is Christ). Instead he struck the Rock twice and as a result forfeited entry into the Promised Land. This was the water of Meribah (striving).

It seems to me that the issuance of the Ten Commandments would have been designed to induce change. And then there is the "Veil of Moses," which demonstrated a change of heart between when the Veil was lifted and when it was lowered.

I'm with you, Blik.

The largest mystery was all of us being with God\SPIRIT with no beginning or ending that boggles the mind reduced to flesh and blood souls, with Spirit asleep in it, the unbelievable application of stories is about you from all experiences and more than one life your puzzled about with impossible knowledge, the best clues are movies and famous man and woman who mentioned life is a play, impossible destroyed by faith that over powered doubt, just remember head home before 12pm.
