The Word of GOD gets planted in us. Reborn with the spirit of knowledge in Him.
Amen

“and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭1:15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“if so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: that ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

and be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

and that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:21-24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It's not a good sign when someone can only be literal.
You can think whatever you like, but your position is not biblically sound. There are parts of Scripture that are non-literal; Genesis 3 is not one of them...

i think it means they don't have The HOLY SPIRIT Interpreting for them.
You certainly don't have the Holy Spirit interpreting Scripture for you. That's painfully obvious.

Wait, are you someone else that can only be literal?
If by someone else being literal, you mean Jesus when He said "it is finished" then yes I believe what He said was literal. From now on be careful before you go around teaching that Jesus is literally crucified more than once.

Obey-JESUS has a similar teaching to DanielLL in that they both focus on the knowledge of good and evil. They both showed up around the same time. Just sayin...

JESUS was put to the same test in the wilderness with satan. The difference being JESUS passed.
“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.

For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners,

so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭5:12, 14, 19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: for God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭3:4- 6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

….and saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: And in their hands they shall bear thee up, Lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; and saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭4:1, 3-4, 6-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

he tried hard to beguile and tempt Jesus also but Jesus remained with Gods word. Where man has failed Jesus became a man and did not that’s where the new creation begins

“For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4:15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:1-2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
‭‭John‬ ‭8:31-32‬ ‭KJV‬‬
Wow, did you see the rest of the thread? We were talking about Everlasting Life. Your Verse is screaming that Righteous Intentions through the Reborn spirit is The Way to have Life.

You also have scripture about Truth here, this comment was from another thread:

Is entering The Kingdom of GOD a Relationship with CHRIST!?

You want a relationship with Him in Spirit and Truth. Spirit/Life is in The Blood ....is Truth ...The Water because it cleanses ...washes away the lies and corruption? Repentance.

John 3:5
Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Is this the same water we need Reborn with?:

John 19:34
But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.

Upholding His Image is Obeying Him in a Relationship that includes The Way, The Truth, and The Life. It is how His Righteousness is bestowed on you ...it is how you Overcome ...it is how you are Covered in His Blood.

The Way = His Righteousness
The Truth = Overcome the lies
The Life = Covered in His Blood

The Water is also linked to us Joining CHRIST in His death ...through Baptism.

This is the second time you attack me, for the record, I disagree with OP, but I didn't have time to respond, this guy is convicted because I rebuked him on his free grace, and told him that: God will not justify sinners, per Exodus 23:7 and Proverbs 17:15. Im lucky I caught him misrepresenting me, but if you see him talk about me, don't believe him, ask me for my views, he doesn't know me.
There are parts of Scripture that are non-literal; Genesis 3 is not one of them.
And how do you know which ones are literal and which ones are "non-literal"? It is your own understanding that decides?
Why not be consinstent, and receive the Word as it is written, as a literal Adam and Eve, and as literal waters above the firmament, etc.

Jesus is the Bread of Life, but He is not "knowledge".
“And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭5:20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, according as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”
‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭1:2-4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

You must be struggling through life with only one eye and one hand, having gouged out/chopped off the other. Any other thoughtless comments you'd like to add?

Next time, read carefully what I wrote before responding to me.

LOL! You keep rolling out clear straightforward logical truth . . . and . . . more of it . . . and the same thing another time . . . hope the effort brings results! . . . .

Do you have an old self ...or are you still fallen? CHRIST can't forgive the sins your refuse to hand Him.

Rom 6:6-7
We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin.
For one who has died has been set free from sin.

2Co 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Colossians 3:9-10
Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

The basic principle is to let the Bible interpret itself. The NT is full of quotes and references of the OT. Unless you understand the OT, especially the Torah, you’re not gonna understand the NT. Don’t take the verse-by-verse reductionist approach, find the connections and discover the patterns, see the forest first before you focus on each tree.

"Grace" by definition, means UNMERITED favor.

If Grace is not free, we are ALL doomed.

Right, you are caught in your inconsistency and your answer is attacking my person, which is why you can't see it.

1 John 2:9 He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.
11 But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.

1 John 3:15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
1 John 4:20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
