And then again Taiwan could be just a little piece of candy at the moment to China in that after SWIFT and the island it has Russia on all they would need to do is wait,,,,,,,and then stop exporting all goods from China to Europe and the US and instantly we would no longer have 300.00 dollar 55 inch tv's at Walmart,Kmart,,,no more Dollar stores and no more 3M mask for a dollar. We would then need to reverse things like us making 20.00 an hour and outsourcing our manufacturing back to 3.65 an hour or less. In short if China waits,,then stops sending us the stuff they manufacturer with slave labor then it will crumble everyone's economy but China's. So Taiwan,,,why not dominate the earth?
China is on a knife's edge trying to keep 1 billion people fed. The idea that they can just "wait" is not realistic

Ukraine was once one of the oligarchy of the USSR. In fact it was considered the crown jewel of the USSR power.
Putin wants it back.
Sure they have had issues with corruption...they were once part of Russian isolationism.

However...things have changed...and been changing. They were cleaning up the corruption but by bit. Sure a few people were wanting things to remain as they always have been.
And the Russian disinformation campaigns have been going full tilt for over two years now. Many people in this thread are repeating that nonsense verbatim. If it wasn't so easy to spot it would be of a better quality.

Russia has been planning this for the last four to five years under Putin. He was waiting for Trump to leave office and he then had the hiccup of Coronavirus. But he used his disinformation campaigns to create mask and vaccine fears. (It didn't help much)

Ukraine was increasing it's alliance with western civilization through trade and trade agreements...it didn't want to trade as much with Russia because the money was lousy. (Indeed they have some great products at great prices including computer chips)

The Ukrainians themselves are actually the most valuable resource there. Highly educated and skilled population. And as their trade with Europe evolved it was coming out of poverty. Which is what was Russia's biggest fear. It wants access to those goods as well. Without them Russia is no better than Saudi Arabia...a single product country. Ukraine's unemployment was dropping with every new trade deal.

So... Russia has been working heavily towards annexation of Ukraine.

However, most of the people there are tired of Russian influence. They usually are a peaceful people. But now due to Russian brutality they are forming civilian militias. This is going to cause occupation instead of annexation. Another Afghanistan for them. (They failed under Carter when they invaded Afghanistan and Carter almost pushed the big red button)

Same story here...
Sure there's a lot of short term stuff that makes for headlines. Ignore it. The end of Russia is coming. The sanctions, air flight restrictions, and shipping is getting cut off. They are going to be impoverished and broke. When soldiers don't get paid they don't follow orders. And very very soon Russia is going to be broke. Watch the gold market... Russia is dumping gold to shore up the Ruble...when it reverses and they begin to buy gold they will be in real trouble.

You can't impose a blockade on Taiwan if the US keeps the shipping lanes on the East coast open, hence my point concerning the three navies of Japan, the US and Australia
If. How will the alliance keep shipping lanes open without going to war?

I think Taiwan is a red line for the US. The US can no longer be a superpower if Taiwan falls to China and China controls the best computer chips.

So the real question for China is are they going to go to war with the US over Taiwan?

China wants Taiwan and they know they can't get it without taking out the US, Russia wants the Mid East and they know they can't get it without taking out the US. Iran wants to destroy Israel and they know they can't do that without taking out the US.

So it is a critical time to have very strong astute leader for the country, we are in very perilous waters.

Whoa! Whoa! You are talking about a guy who drove an 18 wheeler, worked in the coal mines, stood up to Corn Pop, freed Mandela from prison, and who has had 30 years of foreign policy experience, knows both Xi and Putin like they were his sugar daddy, the same guy who was going to crush the pandemic.

He brought dignity back to the White house, no longer do we have mean tweets at 3am, in fact he has put a complete silence on any communication from the Whitehouse after 5pm.

And don't even get me started with all the things he had to overcome from the last administration. Afghanistan -- Trump's fault, rise in oil prices that was anticipatory knowing that Putin would invade all because of Trump, the invasion of our Southern border, again blame that on Trump (requires Psaki to explain this one, I'm not that advanced in spinning the truth).

I am paying attention to my friends that I personally know from the region. Some are in Ukraine, Slovakia, and Russia. (One from Hungary but he moved to Slovakia)
Currently those in Ukraine (can still get cell phone calls through) are often hiding out in bomb shelters. Spending a major part of their day inside. Many people evacuated. Men were not allowed to leave. But many are choosing to fight...they feel like mice against a lion...but they don't feel they have any choice.

Correct. Putin is a KGB thug. And no matter what excuses he may present, he has attacked a sovereign country to grab it. Had there been (1) a genuine strong president in the USA, (2) a serious defense pact among the countries West and Northwest of Russia, and (3) a sincere desire in the West to stop Russian aggression, there would have been to war in Ukraine.

After all that we had to endure during the Trump administration people should appreciate Biden more.

First there was the infernal boasting -- Trump telling us how great the economy is doing, how we are at peace, how they told us he was going to get us into war with Putin and N. Korea but no, he got along great with them. Trump boasting about making peace with Israel when everyone said it was impossible. Boasting about solving the border issues.

Then there were the mean tweets, don't let me recount all that.

Worst of all was the incessant, daily "Orange man bad" that we heard on the News. What about the Mueller investigation? You would think that was the most smoke anyone had blown up your rear end, but then they did that bogus impeachment over Trump trying to root out corruption in Ukraine, followed by the second bogus impeachment for when Trump had left office.

Aren't you happy that all that is over? Now it is the peaceful song of a lullabye singing to you softly to go asleep. Sure crime is through the roof, hush baby, go to sleep, and sure inflation is out of control but that is a good thing so trust daddy and go to sleep, and then all this information about the vaccines and Pfizer, don't you worry your mind about that, and OK there is a war going on and we do have a bunch of people calling for WWIII that will go nuclear, but surely you can see this is really Trump's fault. ORANGE MAN BAD, HE WOKE UP BABY!!!

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/20...-ukraine-killed-364-people-us-funded-biolabs/

Even if this is true it doesn't mean that the US bioweapons labs ever caused any other deadly disease outbreaks. Also Mitt Romney calling Tulsi Gabbard a treasonous traitor for wanting to investigate doesn't necessarily mean he was trying to cover this up. Maybe he was just having a bad day.

Also I have heard that the 55,000 pages of documents from Pfizer are being characterized as convicting them of crimes. But couldn't it just be incompetence? Maybe they never read their studies? After all congress doesn't read the 1.5 trillion spending bill before voting for it.

No it is not. BIG DIFFERENCE. Missiles in Cuba would have been for attacking the USA. Missiles in Ukraine would be strictly for defense. Does anyone imagine that Ukraine has any designs on the annexation of the Russian Federation?
What about tanks in the Ukraine?

Seriously? Giving Romney the treasonous traitor the benefit of the doubt? There is not one thing which Romney has done which is not injurious to America. Just like Lindsey Graham giving Biden a pass while attacking Trump? Just like McConnell helping Biden throw trillions away without a murmur. This is the core issue in the USA. The people who should be resisting the destruction of America are actually helping its enemies.

Maybe that's what the fighters were doing stirring up the Texans in Austin today. It's going from clandestine troops and billions of tax dollars stollen from Americans and given to the dancing queen of Ukraine; to a transition moving to NATO which includes the US military.

The Bible says that Gog and Magog will have hooks put in them and they will be dragged down to fight Israel in Jerusalem. That is what we are seeing, this war is proceeding as Russia is slowly being dragged into it.

A year ago all we had to do is guarantee that Ukraine would not be part of NATO. Today it is a full blown war. Imagine you are fighting a poisonous snake, do you think the snake will let you kill it without trying to bite you? Russia is not going to retreat, they are not going to surrender, not without using their nukes first.
