I don't want to write a book. I'm just curious about how one would do it.
A lot of people pay a publisher to print their books for them. I don't really consider this as being a published author. It's not like they have an agent and have a publisher pay them an advance and royalties. Paying to have a book published is called vanity press. Others create a website and offer their book online for a price. This is called self-publishing.

Your manuscript has to be accepted by a publisher willing to publish it, otherwise, you need to do it yourself, its can be expensive, you take the risk though and keep all the profits.

However you wont be able to sell as much as a publisher because, imagine having to hawk your book to every bookshop, or maybe could only do it on amazon, but thats only if you content to do print on demand or kindle editions. Which is not REALLY a book IMHO.

I dont want to read a book I have to print out on paper for myself I dont have a printer or the equipment to do that, nor a kindle.

I prefer to read my books on paper that I can hold in my hands.

It has been a bit slow on this site lately. Alot leaving or being banned. Maybe the weather is getting warmer and more are going out and about. For us it is starting to cool down and I will spend this winter in my new rental if that goes ahead.

I do too.
When it's on screen I find myself scrolling around, reading/skipping ahead, and being way too distracted.

Even though it is spring here in Tennesse the weather has been unseasonably cold. Off and on snow showers yesterday and today. Supposed to be 70F and sunny tomorrow. We'll see. Stay warm in your new rental Ruby.

confession

when Im interested in a topic I will keep posting in it until I have exhausted everything I have to say about it. It doesnt matter if nobody else is interested in it or even responding. I need to get it out there lol

I dont think I do that in real life or I'd probably get the autistic label ...

I remember a workmate who would have probably qualified for aspergers label being obssessive over the Bible to the extent he could remember obscure chapter and verse and expect me to instantly recall whatever reference he made. But Im afraid I didnt know what he was talking about. It turned out he was part of the christadelphian cult where they read the bible in a strange manner, taking it very literally.

But I also remmeber he had no notion of personal space and would zero in on you and you couldnt get away, and he had pet topics (complaining about his family) that I couldnt do anything about. So I suppose that turned me into a listener cos I wouldnt interrupt and say well heres what *I* think. But he wouldnt talk about anything else much. But that was because...he only had set topics and he got boring and repeated himself a lot.

I wonder if I come across that way! haha however, with online forums its a bit different because im more one that sticks to the topic and if its going somewhere else I just make a new thread on a different topic otherwise youd on,y have one thread that is like Lanolins raves and nobody would read it - theres Lanolin going on about stuff again

You don't wish to frolic in the snow?

Yes, Ruby, cold, damp, fluffy, white stuff. You pack it into tight balls and cream your loved ones with it.

sort of like a frappe, but without the coffee. Or a slushy, without the artificial colour and flavour. Ive heard it falls down from the sky.
In late winter in Tennessee the cold, white, fluffy stuff tends to be like a slushy.

why nobody has cure for common cold?

ugh

I also wondered why lack of plants in urban areas..shopping malls, talking about you
I think should be mandatory to have at least three plants for every indoor area, to provide oxygen, and as an indicator like canaries in goldmine, if a plant cannot grow in that place then humans wont survive either
