Yes, Adam and Eve are the first people. Genesis 1 and Genesis 2 are talking about the same event. Genesis 1 is about the entirety of creation and how God created everything in all of existence. The origin of the true cosmology. Genesis 2 is focused on the creation of man and woman, their roles, why they were created and their original blessings, and of course the original commandment pertaining to the tree of the knowledge of good and evil which figures pretty heavily into the next chapter when everything goes all wrong.

First off...
The OP is forcing scriptures to say what it doesn't say with many assumptions and conclusions.

Secondly he is applying his westernized mindset to the scriptures as if the author was writing to him. That's a huge fallacy.

Thirdly,
The Genesis account of Creation may contain history but it is not a history book or manual of "How God created the universe ".

Fourth,
These lessons were given to us for the valuable lessons it contains. God wanted us to understand these lessons and not so we can build our own universe.

Scriptures approached with any other thoughts are going to be eronius.

You know within the one hour and 44 minutes it would take to watch that you could probably get through at least 2/3rds of the actual book of Genesis
I've read the book of Genesis numerous times.

Anyhow, I wasn't disagreeing with what you said.

Instead, I provided a video which I believe rightly answers the question "Is Genesis history?" in the affirmative.

Break's over.

Back to work for me...

I think some folks overlook so much… I think it is naivety. Whom was Cain afraid of when he was marked? Evolution.. or man observing GOD’s blue print and adding their theories to exalt themselves amongst men? The Bible lightly tells us about the beginning.. The Bible is True. It is our understanding of what is written that does error.. for we see that GOD made man in His image whilst telling a second party.. In our Image.. after our likeness. Clearly stating the fact. My inquisitive nature once did contemplate such. Then throughout the Bible it references a story.. But my friends need us not overly concern for our Faith, Trust and Love is not in knowledge of the beginnings.. but in Hope, Love and Faith in the End. When our Lord and Saviour will give us our Royal pardon. The tree of Life is more important than the Tree of knowledge… one kills.. the other saves us. If a man wishes to believe Adam and Eve were the first creation and everyone came from their lineage.. no harm is done. For Salvation is in the New Covenant. The flood wiped much out.. for strange beings did walk the earth. Much immorality indeed. Yet we have Salvation through our Lord. All that came to pass is part of the story of life. Be found written in the Book of life, be not consumed with needing the exact beginning for we are set here in this age.
If you do not understand what happended in the beginning you will not truly understand the end.

Oh no problem, not saying you do disagree. Lol just saying Genesis could be read in that time ironically. I think people get hung up on the evolution stuff when it comes to Genesis, but that's all really the first like few chapters of the book. Really in terms of solidly being historical the immediate post-flood era of the patriarchs is where the rubber really meets the road since they are the fathers of all the most ancient nations and all the races existent today.

Oh really? How about you define "white"? This is a political term invented by the communists. If that means ancestry of western europeans, then that's a wide range of skin tone, some Italians and Greeks could be as dark as Indians and Arabs. And speaking of, people from Middle East and North Africa are also classified as "white", but by no means would you consider those muslims as "white", would you?
This is why I wanted to stay away from this.
Strong's #119: 'adam (pronounced aw-dam')
to show blood (in the face), i.e. flush or turn rosy:--be (dyed, made) red (ruddy).

If you want to twist the scripture to fit your doctrines, your traditions of men all of which make void the word of God. That is your choice.

The Genesis account is a history book though. Most of the Bible's books are.
A history book, it has history but it is so much more; It is the inspired word of God. It is or road map to following God. The bible is the love letter God has given us to know and understand Him.

No twisting needed, it is as it is.

True. This is why the overall cosmology and its creation and then the more detailed account of man and woman's creation and the promises made to them are pretty important. Beyond just the history, these declarations of God are the foundation of many things in the Bible whether man obeys or disobeys and what the consequences are.

I beg to differ my friend.. the people are saved through Faith in the Lord. What came to pass exactly isn’t going to change that. It merely was in preparation. Some people fail to question How the Lord’s Birthday is recognised as the 25th of December yet His death and Resurrection observed on different dates according to the moon… spring equinox.. We were given a light account and need not concern with the details. Trust in GOD above all else.

I’m fully aware that different Books exist but have chosen not to read them. I have picked up parts where some believe the serpent seed etc.. but in the end.. there is one Heavenly Father whom sent His Son to save us. I know there is a Great story touched upon in the Bible.. but so many try to discredit the Bible. It is true throughout. Line upon line, precept upon precept.. it doesn’t need to be solved, decoded.. the heart that seeks, receives.

When I was a young child, I believed Eve ate literal fruit.. poisoned fruit because a snake tricked her. GOD was mad because she didn’t listen to Him. Does that resemble the Truth? The apple logo is a bitten apple, to me that is a reference to the eating of the forbidden fruit. GOD knows how to teach us mortals.. knows our ability to understand through symbols. Amazing indeed.

Kenallen, what is troubling you my dear? Are you troubled by Genesis account? What if you are correct.. there were people created.. male and female..that went forth to replenish.. then later on Eden and Adam are separate creations.. Eve created through His rib whilst asleep… They were expelled from Eden.. where did they go? Were fig leaves their clothes? What will you gain from knowing these things? Does it cast doubt? Whom was Cain afraid of? So many things we can speculate upon.
