HALT, acrynom for Hungry, Angry, Lonely, and Tired, are four risk factors, usually known as the triggers for relapse during recovery from addiction:

Hungry is referring to physical hunger and/or thirst - or craving for certain treat even when you're not really hungry; Israelites were guilty of this one as they were discontent with the manna and craving for pot of meat;

Angry could be a temper tantrum, a general bad mood, or any kind of negative emotion that clouds your judgement;

Lonely, either being isolated all by yourself or surrounded by strangers with nobody to talk to;

Tired, being stressed out at the lowest level of energy after a long day, brain's foggy, eyelids are heavy, limbs are like jelly;

On top of HALT, I'd add two more - Embarrassed, when being caught by surprise, being seriously challenged or shamed, or in a compromised situation; and Drepressed, the feeling of frustration and hopelessness after a setback or a traumatic experience.

Spiritually, a HALTED state is a dangerous, vulnerable state that leads to temptation, different people could be more susceptible to one factor more than others. In a HALTED state, Satan's voice is as loud as thunder, one or more of my old issues, obessessions, desctuctive behaviors which I thought I have buried long ago are suddenly roaring back to life. A decision made in a HALTED state could be a deadly mistake which I would never make with a clear mind and I would certainly regret afterwards. Satan doesn't bother me when I'm all pumped up and full of spirit, I could recite the same bible verses that Jesus recited when He was being tempted; but when I'm HALTED, I couldn't even think straight, so any advise on how to fight the spiritual battle like Jesus did at the end of His trial when He was HALTED?

The Apostle Paul experienced all of those things . . . and yet he used himself as a model for us to follow about 18 times in Scripture. I love that guy!

We are created by God in His image, a creation to think of with awe. When we add Christ to this creation, we are cleansed of all sin. We have Christ for us, the facts of our life makes it strange we have those down times.

In my understanding, this depends on our spiritual training, our daily walk with Christ. When it comes to a HALTED moment, that training will be automatically activated like muscle memory.

What I wrote about depends upon the Circumcision of Christ. From there, the ability to repent is granted, thus a person is enabled to turn from sin. The Holy Spirit is also and subsequently given, hence, a teaching and guiding Spirit that establishes ownership, proven by a life that is governed beyond the scope of freewill.

The Circumcision of Christ. When will this become meaningful? When will the Lord allow this group of "Christians" to see, hear, and understand?

Frustrating.

I have some struggle with this particular terminology. I understand that circumcision of Christ means soften the the callous, hardened, desensitized heart, but whenever circumcision is mentioned, what immediately comes to my mind is always circumcision of the dick, and it's kind of limited to that. Not that I'm against it, there has been ample evidence showing that it lowers the risk of various STDs and improves hygiene, nor do I suggest that it's required for salvation, it's just kind of hard to dissociate from that procedure and see it from a spiritual perspective.

Like I said, the Lord doesn't allow many people to understand this core doctrine of the Bible.

putting what we learn into practice causes us to become strong and temptation to become less influential in our lives. Have less of a pull and enticement towards us.

if we learn and learn and never apply it to life it leaves us complacent and vulnerable knowing what’s right and. NOt doing it stifles us in our spiritual growth and warfare
