Sorry to the OP but this has to be one of the best BDF threads ever. lol Now where do I find this spensive syrup, sounds like my hubby would love it!! Maybe he'll the other way when I shop Hobby Lobby. rofl.
See....us men have to stick together on this one.
You can find the concoction from the Amish and Mennonite communities...
They are usually pretty good about tapping maple trees with spiels and cooking it down. (Birch ain't bad either)

They also have the blueberry bushes too.

But together? Tiny whole wild blueberries and real maple syrup put into canning jars together....it's just too good on your pancakes or waffles to resist.

good question. i think this comes from the fact that many bible verse contradicts itself if you just pit two verses against each other.

for example:

1 John 3:8
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

1 John 1:8
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

these are in the same book. no author is foolish enough to just write two contradicting statements like this in the same book. so what comes from this is that people dont harmonize the bible with the totality of it. and you have one side of the people quoting the verse below to excuse their living in sin and total rebellion against God, and you have the other side quoting the verse above preaching sinless perfection and if you sin you just aren't saved, no one is saved (except for they of course)

this is how these problems arise. another similar situation:

Romans 2:13
For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified.

Romans 3:20
Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

here we are again. one side posting the other verse etc.... this contradiction can easily be solved by reading the context, without chapter breaks its clear that what st.paul says in Romans 2:13 is true, if you do the law of God you will be justified, but if you keep reading you notice the problem is that both jews and gentiles have not kept the law and they both need God's grace to forgive them their sins and that is why in actuality, by deeds of the law no one will be justified.

Romans 3:9-10
What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;
As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one;

hope this answers some questions. i know these are just couple verses, but this is how different demonations and interpretations come.
A very good reply. You obviously have experience in dealing with interpretations, that fail to understand the wider context of any letter.

May I correct your post?
But if you keep reading you notice the problem is that both jews and gentiles have not kept the law
Gentiles will never be accused of not keeping the law, the Gentiles were never under the law. Paul explains the sin that the Gentiles were guilty of in Romans 3:9-18. I do not expect many folk to notice what Paul is actually saying.

Nor do I expect many to understand that Paul is directly addressing the Jews, within the Roman church.

Its fundamental to human faith.

People believe what they want to believe. And then they filter everything through that.

Very few people actually search for Real Truth, or really want to find anything that contradicts what they want to believe. It reminds me of the story of the Tower of Babel. How our understanding and communication is confused.

It is not Gods Desire that we come to each other to learn Truth. Those of us who have come to God to learn Truth must be very few.

Matthew 22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen.
It reminds me of what the apostle Paul said in Acts 20:28-31 -Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood. For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock. Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves. Therefore watch, and remember that for three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears.

Hey - I'm happy if everyone is enjoying the food discussions, etc. :)

Who wouldn't rather talk about food?

The thread may as well be a cherry-pickin' food-fest... (y)

(Better than a never-ending argument.)

Carry on...

Yes...and I've been told walnut is good too.
The cooking process of first straining out the bugs then reducing the sap until its syrup is messy....it gets on everything worse than frying foods in your kitchen does. So do it outside.

In every survivor show where it's man vx nature these guys never go for a spiel...and they really should. It's easy and lots of calories. And necessary to keep weight on yourself. Otherwise it's a keto diet of nothing but meat and occasionally fat...and they constantly lose body weight and get weak.

I watch them complain about how they couldn't find any food while standing in a birch Grove. Literally surrounded by groceries but too dumb to eat any of it.

Yes...maple is famous but birch trees can provide syrup too.

I like blueberries too! I grew up where the claim to fame is blueberry capitol of the world. But I think there are others that claim that, so maybe it's just Canada. Either way, we ate a lot as kids.
I have strawberries, blueberries and rasberries about 4 times a week with my morning cereal. I also have Naval oranges and Nanners too. I eat a lot of fruit it seems.
:)

Just so as you know...pine tar is poison.
Just for future reference.
Socrates didn't know that Hemlock was poison and you know how that ended.

Hmmmm...

My normal, every day breakfast consists of 3 blueberry pancakes, a navel orange, a banana, a bowl of cereal, and either a strawberry, blueberry, or raspberry yogurt.

(He glances in the mirror to make sure that he's a bear and not an elephant)

P.S.

And sometimes a nice refreshing glass of lemonade.
