What do you do when you need or strongly desire something, that thing God has already promised in His Word, you've prayed about it, maybe God has promised to deliver that thing to you, but time has passed and you still haven't gotten that thing?

How do you handle 'waiting' for it?

What do you do as you wait?

And if you have experienced this and have also received the promise, what happened and what is your advice for people who are waiting for God's promises?

Do as the Angel told Daniel

God spoke these same words to me but in different context.

Daniel 12:8-9
New King James Version

8 Although I heard, I did not understand. Then I said, “My lord, what shall be the end of these things?
9 And he said, “Go your way, Daniel, for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.

I heard God tell me to not worry about how things will occur but to simply go my way.

Meaning to keep doing the simple commands of God and be faithful in what is given in the moment.

I would say that we have to find out what it is Jesus promised in the gospel because that’s our promises

often we’re trying to get Jesus to give us this worlds material thkngs , or thkngs we want but he doesn’t want for us , but what Jesus said we have is what he’s actually promised

he actually never really promised us this world or anything that is of this world

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭2:15-17‬ ‭

the things people long for and want and pursue material possession , big bank account , second vacation home third vehicle all the things humans lust for in the world the things that drive humans greed lust pride self promotion vanity the material

often we’re asking for the things he never promised so I’d say the most important part is to hear the promises of Christ to his disciples spoken in the gospel they are better than anything the world can offer because they are eternal and last beyond death which this world and its things cannot go beyond death but Jesus promises the best ones he makes start at a persons death

Spoken to a believer who was about to draw his final breaths after having his legs broken with a hammer he was facing the end of his time in this world and Jesus is offering this dying man life beyond his impending death

“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?”
‭‭John‬ ‭11:25-26‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Jesus promises are bigger and better than this world this temporary illusion where we’re born with a guarantee of death

when we’re born into Christs kingdom we’re born with a promise of life everlasting and no death In a perfect world where Hod himself dwells among the people a Father and his children forever

often our prayers are for our own personal wants and desires and imaginations but when we start letting the things jesus promised us it’s going to begin to change what it is we pray for and see waiting on

things like this is what leads us to where we need to go

“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”
‭‭John‬ ‭8:31-32, 34, 36‬ ‭

we need tbat promise to come we need to hear and learn the truth of Christs word and continue on following after where it leads we want that promise of truth and freedom from sin to come to pass it’s a promise of Christ

we want this promise to be true because it’s a promise we won’t be condemned and Unforgiven and judged without mercy

Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.

Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned:

forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭6:36-38‬ ‭KJV‬‬

that promise is worthy and something he did promise

I think if we let the gospel into our heart of belief it’s going to change our entire perspective of life , of our own selves , of God , and ends up conforming our wants and desires to the things he promised and the things he wants and desires himself and for us

many of the things we hold in high regard and lust for and want after are abominations to God

“And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭16:15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We’ve warped ourselves and this world and now we as humans lust for the wrong things imagine the wrong things and spend our lives chasing after the wrong things waiting for the wrong things

he promised to go through this world with us , endure hardships with us , provide for our needs , he promised earthly blessing and earthly hardships and said I’ll be with you and I’ll keep your everlasting soul safe.

but mostly our promises and rewards are not for this world or this temporary life but for the eternal Kingdom that the gospel proclaims in his true promise to believers

Life is short and eternity is long. Try to focus on future blessings that are eternal. I'm just glad to be here and have the glorious hope that salvation brings.

We know Gods promises are yes and amen. So God said it He will do it. What's written? Delight your self in the lord He will not maybe by will give you the desires of your heart and commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this. There are so many more but jump to Christ. What ever you desire when you pray believe you receive them you shall have them. Faith...calling those things that be not as though they were. I didn't say that nor am I twisting it.

Time its like asking when did Jesus die and rise? Over 2 thousands years ago or just a tad over 2 days now? Then what we ask for there are most of the time real people with wills of there own that God can not go against. Yet I have seen Him answer before I even asked for it with in 5min and to answer it all the things to come in to play would have taken days yet.. He had already set in motion days for before I asked the answer. When I asked .. well before I finished I said "..wait. You already knew what I was going to ask for. You already set in motion the answer. I had no doubt what so ever I knew He would answer it.

So we praise Him for the answer. If we doubt we will not get anything as is written. You/we don't put Him on some time clock nor do we look around us at others to then judge how God will answer us. So when doubt tries to come in.. praise Him.. say no!

I will toss this out.. kinda hard meat if will. After this life its not over. What He wanted us to do will still happen!

Good grief.:rolleyes::rolleyes: "Closed up and sealed till the time of the end"? I sure hope that isn't God's final answer for me.

I get what you're saying here: "I heard God tell me to not worry about how things will occur but to simply go my way. Meaning to keep doing the simple commands of God and be faithful in what is given in the moment."

He told me the same thing from here: "Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the LORD, and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD; trust also in Him, and He will bring it to pass" (Psalm 37:3-5).

The message of that is to keep living and doing what I'm doing until God delivers the promise. Time passes and humans age. I would really have liked some of these things sooner rather than later, but when God sets an appointed time, no one can change it.

Most promises are realized in eternity. I'm talking about the promises that He expressly made for life on earth-- desires He put in me, not worldly desires.

In His good time, not ours. He knows best. Just trust Him. We will understand someday.

The ones I'm thinking of He told me are His will and I believe they will come to pass. The passage of time is for me the hardest part. I like to hit the ground running, but I can't any running right now.

Read Psalm 40:1-3 and 128:1-4 as examples.
Psalms 40
1(To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.) I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. 2He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. 3And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.

Psalms 128
1(A Song of degrees.) Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways. 2For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee. 3Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table. 4Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the LORD.

I'm still waiting for a wife also. We shall all be gloriously and wonderfully married someday, in His time. ;)(y)

I don't wait, i live as though it is or that i am that in Gods direction so He can see it/me what He was already believing for so that He can make it manifest. When you play the waiting game your hopes just going to be defered over and over again and it will just make you angry and doubtful over time, i know because that was me. We never really consider that maybe He is the one who's waiting for us to be or identify as what He believes so He can finally paint the truth around us to support His belief....It's like imagine if God created the spirit of a cat but cat spirit for some reason refuses to identify itself as a cat, so because of this God cannot in good conscience give it a physical cat body while the cat spirit is having an identity crisis. The body/manifestation only exists to support the spirit of whatever God says/believes and will have you to agree to first. God wants you there first identifying as it so that it can support and affirm what you already are.

Just like with healing you have to be identifying as healed to be able to have it manifest, but you identify as healed based on His own belief about you. It's never been about your own personal belief or ability to see or understand it but your agreement to what He believes about You. The promises of God are His own beliefs about YOU. You are God's belief so instead of trying to take and understand/believe it and things for yourself stop because you can't and never will...Instead make the transition from trying to be a believer of God and what He says to just being the believed of God.

Read Psalm 40:1-3 and 128:1-4 as examples.
amen !!!

“I waited patiently for the LORD; And he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: Many shall see it, and fear, And shall trust in the LORD.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭40:1-3‬ ‭

his word accepted and sought after brings things to pass

Us
Delight thyself also in the LORD;

him

And he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭37:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Us

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness;

him

and all these things shall be added unto you.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:33‬ ‭

“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭11:6‬ ‭

if we make our life about seeking God through the gospel , he will bless us in His Will our part and our word to hear and believe and form our desires is here

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, ( us) He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, ( his gift resulting from that) hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, ( us) If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

( his gift from that ) and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
‭‭John‬ ‭8:31-32‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We have our part to redecorate our lives to him who gave his for us and then he takes care of the blessings and annointings

God bless indeed as you pursue your heart in him

are you applying the things Jesus taught in the gospel while you wait though ?

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness;

and all these things shall be added unto you.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:33‬ ‭KJV‬‬

While we’re waiting we’re meant to be his disciples as far as start learning what he taught do for instance we want to practice the things he said to do we don’t need to wait for that part

for instance

“Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭6:36-38‬ ‭KJV‬‬

we need to start letting this conform us and everything he taught and start seeking the kingdom and e righteousness of Christ as we don hat it’s amazing how faith begins to come forth and manifest things we didn’t even imagine in life

we want to wait while we’re walking in the gospel it’s where all the blessing is
