To win a defamation case you have to prove actual damages and the plaintiff did that. That's not the same thing as politicians talking trash about each other
So while politicians are encouraging people to harass Supreme court justices they get a pass. Ok. Never mind there is no conversation to have.

No. When a radio host uses his platform to harass bully and defame a grieving family, then you're going beyond just a simple opinion.
He should have gone to jail that time he claimed his vitamins supplements cured covid
Interesting. I am not saying he said good things, but what are the charges for talking about people in a non-threatening manner?

Pro Se ,,,should have been instructed of malpractice of representation and afforded the right to proceed Pro se ...
Do you really think Jones has the legal accumen to go Pro se?

He is on air broadcasting his show when he doesn't have to be in court. Badmouthing the proceedings daily.

This Economist is devastating to Jones claiming he can only afford a limited judgement.
AJ is evil.

Yeah a lot of people a few in this forum included are deceived by that guy.
Im glad he’s in court answering for the BS he says all day long.
I liked the plaintiffs closing that told the jury they aren't able to change what Jones is. Nor will Jones learn from this.

There's a video I can't post for obvious reasons wherein Jones attorney flips off the plaintiffs attorneys during their post court arguments.

Jones and his attorney are one. 🙄

Politicians are a protected class and cant be sued by average person. Just like judges are.

Kind of an interesting aside. The message today at our church was about not listening to the false prophets and messengers of today. People like Alex Jones and many others wouldnt be a thing if we as Christians discerned the truth and just didnt listen to lying messengers.

as a regular listener of his, i think most of you are hearing chopped up 20 second soundbites of what he says, not the full context of what he says.

you get a lot more Bible and God on infowars than you do in many modern churches.

Even the Devil can appear as an angel of light and quote scripture.

If a politician were to deliberately defame someone then I imagine he would be subject to being sued also
It happens every day, and not a single politician has been prosecuted. There is a double standard and the Left hates Alex Jones because he exposes their lies and fraud every day. Jones should be commended for InfoWars, not attacked by Christians. He is more prescient than most commentators.

lol, no that's not what I was meaning at all,,,I just found it odd that the judge, his own lawyer nor even the prosecuting attorney did not instruct him that he was within his rights to dismiss his counsel when he found out he faxed his cell phone records to the prosecution by accident. So it make's no difference how I feel about AJ it's an issue over him being explained his rights or not. The prosecuting attorney did hint at such with the fig leaf covering his own malpractice pun and so another attorney will probably take his lawyer to court for malpractice of law and probably end up winning as much as AJ was ordered to pay.

The liberal socialist media have attacked him since the 1990s. Last time I was invited to a "holiday" celebration of a coworker, all socialists, there was an obsession with the man. I never spoke of him and was polite. Democracy NOW was playing in the background and I was polite and friendly. The subject of"Gay" frogs was like a chant over and again......obsessive. We couldn't have an intelligent conversation about water quality. The kitchen had one gallon jugs of fluoride added "nursery water."

Gay frogs mantra.
This week it's Sandy hook mantra.
Next week it'll be something else the propaganda machine promotes.

Well, I dont know him or his show so I can not throw stones. What I do know is that I believe in free speech even idiot speech. And I hate a double standard.
If we are gonna castigate this guy then we definitely need to do the same with politicians. And news anchors and stations.

OK, I got ya. 😊

I'm with you.

I don't think the judge or his own attorney team are doing right by AJ.

I don't like Jones but I really dislike corrupt jurisprudence. Especially when it's made so public.

I've noticed that in other broadcast trials too.
Impossible to miss. And yet it's obvious those bad actors don't care it's so public.
Just thank God it's not you on trial.

It's a warning in that way. Gives a whole new reason for Lady Justice be be blindfolded. She can't bear to see what's happening behind her back. And secured to that marble platform she can't bring corrective justice with her sword.

yet, covid cases have been in decline for the last 3 weeks.

will c b s news out of atlanta get in any trouble? NO!

People hate Alex Jones because he is a vile and evil human being and I hope he rots in hell. He used his platform to profit off of harassing and bullying and grieving families

Who painted this marriage that the Sandy Hook victims were actors and it didn't really happen and they were part of this Grand conspiracy to take everyone's guns away.
These lies inspired people to harass and threaten grieving families
That's why he should also be on the hook for all I'm in resources the police had to spend to protect the families he defamed

It can be seen as a free speech issue.

However, after watching the trial and going back to Jones original broadcasts about Sandy Hook shortly after the massacre, I can see why he'd be on trial.

He's deplorable. Keep in mind he's only in the courtroom when he was scheduled to testify.

Otherwise, he's on air as scheduled on his show.
And he's not smart enough to keep his mouth shut about the ongoing case. Because everything he says that pertains to particilars of the trial and case can be used against him.

Now, there is a chance his dream nightmare team failed to tell him to shut up until all of these cases are resolved. With his bunch, entirely possible.
They 'accidentally' sent an electronic copy of 2 years of AJ's phone files to the plaintiffs attorneys.
Two weeks later they're asking the judge to forbid their using the material, or passing it to officials who want those same files.

However, if AJ is a qualified journalist able to talk about government coverups and corruption, he should be intelligent enough to know in an ongoing defamation case to keep his mouth shut and not give more evidence against himself.

He can't defend his actions. Why would anyone else?
🥺 Those children really were ripped apart by a gunman.

Alex Jones said that was a lie.

Then from the safety of his studio, he called the daddy of one of those victims slow. Claiming he is on the spectrum.

Turns out, at the same time that grieving dad was on the stand sharing his victim impact statement.

He's live time defaming a grieving dad during his own defamation trial!

What?

Free speech doesn't cover slander and defamation.

lol, if it was me I would have fired the lawyer the day I found out he made that mistake(it would have resulted in a miss-trail)... other than that I am from Texas and moved from the Houston Area to Buffalo Texas about the same time of the Waco siege and was there when AJ went was helping to rebuild the Banch Davidian compound. This all was around 40 miles from where I lived at that time(no longer live there) https://www.google.com/maps/place/B...e803b520c751f3!8m2!3d31.5957812!4d-96.9879347 Anyway I know he's sort of famous in the rest of the US but in Texas the people who are actually around him are of the mind that well,,, you can make anything sound good if you say it real fast...
