lol, if it was me I would have fired the lawyer the day I found out he made that mistake(it would have resulted in a miss-trail)... other than that I am from Texas and moved from the Houston Area to Buffalo Texas about the same time of the Waco siege and was there when AJ went was helping to rebuild the Banch Davidian compound. This all was around 40 miles from where I lived at that time(no longer live there) https://www.google.com/maps/place/B...e803b520c751f3!8m2!3d31.5957812!4d-96.9879347 Anyway I know he's sort of famous in the rest of the US but in Texas the people who are actually around him are of the mind that well,,, you can make anything sound good if you say it real fast...
lol

''I'm a multimillionaire!''

Sounds good. 😉 Ain't so.
Darn it.

Jones found out about that phone thing when he was on the stand.

That means his attorney kept that from him for all that time before.

Yes, they should be fired and on that same day.

I'm sure his attorneys will hear about this. And it's not good advertising for their firm.

Yes, they should be fired and on that same day.

I'm sure his attorney haven't heard the end of that. Legal malpractice being just the beginning.
Not to mention their foul up was announced to the nation.
Not good local advertising for their firm.

lol, it's like all the lets reverse the blame game where they all say it ain't so about their own records. Like when they try to completely avoid being responsible for all the potholes in Texas roads or Texas being a beautiful place in the 70's and then descending to where you should not even eat the wildlife from the vast majority of it's waters https://tpwd.texas.gov/regulations/...ulations/fish-consumption-bans-and-advisories

And so it's easy for them to blame it on someone else as long as they say it real fast but then again there's that big problem where there hasn't been any Democrats in control of Texas politics for like what 27 years?(sticks out like a sore thumb) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_governors_of_Texas And doesn't that just jump right out at you that it's really best to distract everyone's attention away from explaining the last 27 years and the condition Texas has fallen into by saying we need a border wall while you distract everyone away from you being the number two state in the US that employees them? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Illegal_immigration_to_the_United_States My suggestion is that they don't run on their own records and hope for the best and maybe the vast majority of Texans will fall for the blame game and vote them back in. It's real funny if you think about it "I'm real mad at the government but I'm so slow I cant remember the politicians who ran my state the last three decades that did this to me and so I'm just gonna vote for....."

Who painted this marriage that the Sandy Hook victims were actors and it didn't really happen and they were part of this Grand conspiracy to take everyone's guns away.
These lies inspired people to harass and threaten grieving families
That's why he should also be on the hook for all I'm in resources the police had to spend to protect the families he defamed
So he didn’t threaten anyone nor tell anyone to go harass anyone. His alleged “crimes” are subjective. That was like a kangaroo court; feels and opinions aren’t regulated by the law. I think they just didn’t like him nor respect him so they “threw the book” at him.

Personally, I think they made a martyr out of Alex Jones.

Free speech doesn't cover slander and defamation.
Show me that exclusion in the first amendment. Its not there. The problem is that people love their double standards. I despise them. Politicians are protected from such law suits and our Supreme court held up that pornography is free speech. Our news agencies cause tremendous harm in their lies but they still get to call themselves news. One objective standard for all or go home. The constitution lays out one objective standard. That standard is that people can say what ever they like. Its up to others to not listen.
The only other possible objective standard would be provable factual truth. If you want to go to that standard then make it your own standard, and hold all to that standard by not listening to anyone who tells an untrue thing, and do what is with in your power to keep their messaging out of the public. By using your vote, via your money, your ear, your literal democratic vote, or the money you control due to advertising dollars statistically.
Sorry that the first amendment doesnt say as long as your words dont cause someone stress or offense.

So this is my question, and I know this requires some different kind of thinking but bare with me. (Bare or bear?)
Why sue an idiot for saying stuff about a thing rather than those who caused the thing to start with? Why not sue the drug company that made the dope that this mentally ill person was on? or the doctor who prescribed the dope knowing that stuff is dangerous? On the box there is a warning to consult your doctor if you have suicidal or homicidal thoughts. So when some kid is having some mental malfunction we give them danger dope and expect them to be cognizant enough to tell thier doctor that clearly dont give a tinkers dam about the boy's mental stability to start with, or he would have done something beside prescribe dope.
Why not sue them? Why not sue the FDA who approved such danger dope?

I'm highly against doping people especially kids.

No. Freedom of speech doesn't mean you won't be held accountable.
Defamation is a criminal offense and if you are proven liable in court, you will be held accountable
Same reason you can't threaten to kill me and then say free speech.

Where does the constitution delineate between protected speech and unprotected speech?

Maybe read this.

Takes about five minutes. Less time than it takes to write a post.

OK, maybe not one of my posts.....

I feel like you're just trolling because we've already been over this. If you can prove in court that someone's defamation has caused you damages then that person is liable

Alex Jones said that the Sandy Hook shootings were a hoax, AND he also said that no children died. It doesn't get any more defamatory than that..

I'm not asking you for what ever is common practice, or opinion. I'm asking for an actual legal law or constitutional document statement.

Thanks for posting this, I understand that this is the practice. Its my assertion that this practice is anti-constitutional with out an amendment to the first amendment that allows the courts to do this. This really is just judges making law.
The Constitution says the government can't infringe on your free speech. It doesn't say you can't be held liable in civil court if you defame someone and cause that person damages
Or do you not understand the concept of accountability?

Material damages? Like loss of finances or damage to property?

Damage is like death threats due to his false accusations against them.
Same reason the Catholic Trump kid got to settlement for defamation.
He should also be on the hook for paying back the city for the time and resources because the family had to have around the clock protection because of him

If he said that He is an idiot.
I dont listen to these types of talk show people. I find them all to be a bunch of alarmist idiots and liars, both political stripes are equally so.
