“Repentance And Remission” “And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.” Luke 24:47. THIS verse is among our Lord’s last words to His disciples just before He left them to return to Heaven.

Luke 24:44-48

44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
48 And ye are witnesses of these things.

The Great Commission

Acts 1:3-8

King James Version

3 To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:
4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

I consider Paul's commission to be the great commission for the church.

Acts 26:
16 But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;
17 Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,
18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

Do you suppose it was preached to all the people that hadn't even been born yet? Probably not.

Isn't it exciting to know that we can fulfill the Great Commission right here and right now? :D

Here I go....

We have all sinned and come short of the glory of God, but God allowed Jesus to die on the cross as payment for our sins so that we could be washed a made clean and go to heaven someday. All you must do is repent and turn to Jesus. Ask Him to come into your heart as Lord and Saviour today!

Revelation 3:20
“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”

I consider Paul's commission to be the great commission for the church.
But the Church was established on the day of Pentecost, long before Paul was saved. So your Hyper-Dispensational idea does not jive with Scripture.
Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved. (Acts 2:47)

Also, we read in Romans 11 that believing Israel is the "good olive tree" into which the Gentiles are grafted from "the wild olive tree". The New Covenant was given to Israel, and only believing Jews were in the Church before Gentiles began to to added.

God's Son was given for all men. This was the plan and the good news from the beginning, long before there were any distinctions.

Amen , I like to look at the contemporary verses also each seems to add detail

so how would this be accomplished ?

“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭24:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

so in Matthew we see the great commission pointing to the right doctrine

“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28:18-20‬ ‭

in mark we see the result of what’s going to happen to the people as the witness gospel spreads through the world

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;

but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

and the luke explains the law and prophets were fulfilled in the gospel they were foretelling Jesus and his word of life that calls sinners to repentance and remits thier sins

“and said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:

and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭24:46-48‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Then acts continuing the story of Luke

“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judæa, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭1:8-9‬ ‭

this is actually recorded in mark owing how they overlap and make a unified story with several witnesses

“So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

what I’m saying is if we study the gospel looking at all the accounts it offers better understanding they aren’t opposing views but each offers a different perspective and catches different details

Matthew noticed different things than John , mark , and then the witnesses of Luke’s account and each of those accounts adds details mark didnt record

This is why we have four accounts of the gospel , three which are focused on the same perspectives

“But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭18:16‬

to let the gospel accounts blend together offers a clearer and better picture is all I mean to say going from your wonderful post here we can go also to marks account , Matthew account , the book of acts ect and see the beginning of the great commission start to in fold in the acts of the apostles

this then makes the epistles invaluable because it means we finally start grasping what they are saying having first heard the gospel

True. But we must follow the pattern set out by the Lord Jesus Christ.

FIRST Jerusalem

THEN Judea

THEN Samaria

THEN the uttermost parts of the world.

And that is exactly how the Great Commission was executed. The first church was the church at Jerusalem, and for all intents and purposes it was "the mother Church" (see Acts 15).

God's Son was given for all men. This was the plan and the good news from the beginning, long before there were any distinctions.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
‭‭John‬ ‭1:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭5:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth.”
‭‭John‬ ‭1:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭5:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭5:20‬ ‭

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

“I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.”
‭‭John‬ ‭17:4-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭

God did all those things for us it’s God who became the son to save us he himself had to become flesh this is the son God manifest in the flesh is the son of God this now why he did that

“For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,

Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.

Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭2:10-11, 14-18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We needed an intercessor and no one was worthy so God became the perfect man and perfect high priest who overcame the world and all sin even as he partook of the flesh he remained hilt through temptations he’s the only man ever worthy to intercede successfully for mankind

the son is God in the flesh the word born of a virgin without earthly father , all he promised of the Christ and son of God he came and accomplished himself

it’s often referred to as he reaches his arm To us from heaven into the earth Jesus is God reaching out to us who were lost in the world

All you must do is repent and turn to Jesus. Ask Him to come into your heart as Lord and Saviour today!
I do hope that you understand that there are two different groups of people in this world. The unregenerate group, those who have not been born again (1 Cor 2:14), and the regenerate group, those that have been born again (Eph 2:1-5).

The unregenerate will not repent of breaking a spiritual law that he cannot understand., and he will not ask Jesus to come into his heart of stone. The only people whose newly reborn heart can be pricked to feel guilt, is the born again person.

Repenting, confessing, accepting, praying are all, according to you, necessary to get saved eternally. Rom 11:6 - And if by grace, then is it no more works: Otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace; Otherwise work is no more work.

Repenting, confessing, praying, are works that pertain only to those that have been born again. These works can be the cause of the born again person being delivered (saved) as they sojourn here in this world. Salvation = a deliverance. We are delivered eternally, and the born again can be delivered many times as they live here in this world. Rightly divide the salvation scriptures.

big difference between a natural man being able to understand the Mysteries of God and being able to Accept Christ. All men are capable of Accepting Christ. then they become regenerated and able to understand the Mysteries of God. it's why John 3:16-17, spoken by God in the flesh, was explained [[((Whosoever Believeth))]].

I never stated when the church began. I simply stated, "I consider..." You don't have to have my views. I believe our call is to open people's eyes with the gospel and turn them from darkness to light, from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive the forgiveness of sins. What's wrong with that? Btw, there is no such a term of "The Great Commission".

I do understand that we are all born into that unregenerate group and no one is born predestined for Heaven and no one is born predestined for Hell and that all are required to make a choice to open or not open their hearts door to allow Jesus to save them from their sinful state.

The Elect Church is predestined for Heaven, and we choose whether or not we will be in that number when the saints go marchin' in.

God predetermined that Christ would adopt them as his children, Those that God choose in Eph 1:4 are his elect, and are being adopted by Jesus Christ, He paid the adoption price on the cross, and will come back at the last day to bring his adopted children home.

That it true, and we must now choose whether or not we want to be a part of this program. Jesus is indeed the only Way. I beg all to come today.
