It is written of the men of Issachar that they "understood the times and knew what Israel ought to do".

I was just reflecting on the droughts that are affecting various parts of the world and how long hidden things are being revealed by the absence of water. And then, on the other side of the spectrum, the deep floods that are creating generational disasters for millions.

I caused me to meditate on a couple verses:

“No one, when he has lit a lamp, covers it with a vessel or puts it under a bed, but sets it on a lampstand, that those who enter may see the light. For nothing is secret that will not be revealed, nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light. Therefore take heed how you hear. For whoever has, to him more will be given; and whoever does not have, even what he seems to have will be taken from him.”

and

"And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken."

Consequently, these things caused me to reflect on the many scandals that are being uncovered, especially among those who claim to represent God.

The Russian Orthodox Church supporting the invasion of Ukraine
The physical and sexual abuse crimes of the Roman Catholic and Southern Baptist churches
The many church leaders caught in scandals of varying degrees: adultery, abuse, theft, homosexuality, etc.
The Evangelical Church caught up in political support of a known philanderer, liar, and thief

Judgement is simply establishing the truth of something. We often conflate it with sentencing. But judgement is neither sentencing or conviction: it is merely the established truth.

As things become uncovered those who are led by the Spirit will see things for what they are. Some of these things will be activities or people or ideas that we once supported but are found to be evil and corrupt. When you see it, when the thing is judged and seen to be evil, move away from it quickly. Change your mind quickly and move forward. By this you will escape the sentencing and punishment that is sure to follow.

These are serious times.

Your post brings to my mind the matter of denominations. They all claim the Bible as truth, yet by virtue of having each a denomination which agrees fully with no other denomination takes me back to how Jesus teaches we all become of the faith of Abraham when we believe.

Are denominations the very evidence of apostasy? I am satisfied, joyous, in knowing I am of the faith of Abraham, though I am not of any denomination, and I cannot say any one is correct for me. Perhaps it is time for those who believe to come out of her.
