I might look at the full video later but right off the bat this guy saying people are not special or privileged in this world is completely ignoring the fact that humans can reflect and consider and comment on what they experience. The existence of the soul in humans separates them from the rest of the animal kingdom.
We are not on the same level as apes. They don't have a conscious.
The other thing is tik tok videos are a very thin/unreliable source of information. Good for personal opinion and entertainment, that's about it.
Anyway, I'm being blunt I know, but it's because I'm frustrated with people completely throwing out ages past of real objective truths and facts, in favor of political ideology and personal preference
there exists a soul, so how do we measure it? can it interact with anything and if not, how do you know there is one? as newtons flaming laser sword states, if something can't be settled by observation and experimentation, it isn't worth debate.
a past of real objective truths and facts? being thrown out? well, last i checked many animals exhibit signs of consciousness, if they weren't conscious they wouldn't be able to make the decisions they do. plenty of animals including apes and even some fish use tools and dolphins play with their food for no discernible reason other than fun.
his tiktok videos aren't his sources, that's just were he had his following before youtube so that's where he could reach his audience. also what is so unreliable about short form video? i personally don't like it, but there's no real difference from that and a normal length video other than the amount of information you could fit in there, which doesn't make it less reliable, just less dense, that's why he made the youtube video instead of continuing to make 30 60 second tiktoks.
anyway, i do really hope you watch it and some more of his videos nonetheless, they can be really helpful in wrapping your head around stuff like this. reading the 233 sources he used in the video i listed alone is unreasonable.
