Not the postles because in their day the tabernacle of David was not builded again nor the ruins thereof or set up. The gospel cannot be compared to ruins builded up again.
So is it some still future time? Here is NLT of Amos 9:11-12
11“In that day I will restore the fallen house of David.
I will repair its damaged walls.
From the ruins I will rebuild it
and restore its former glory.
12And Israel will possess what is left of Edom
and all the nations I have called to be mine.”
The LORD has spoken,
and he will do these things.
Notice James says 'Gentiles' where Amos says 'Edom' and commentators seem say much about this.
From Bengel's Gnomen The sentiment of James is established by both modes of reading the passage: for Edom stands on the same footing as all the heathen or Gentiles.

Jesus was truly conceived in the manner that you just described, but that has nothing to do with him being the only begotten Son of God.

I'll try to start a blog on this topic tomorrow.

Still at work...
Ok cool. Do you blog here at this site?

Since Jesus Yeshua came to earth, Judaism came into being. This, like all denominations, is aninvention of man, scholars and the like..
The faith of Jews up until the avent of our Lord had always been the faith of Abraham Our Messiah made converts to this faith for we are all grafted into the origina..

This is spoken, written, throughout the Bible, but most seem to overlook this. A true Jew is one who paises God in spirit and truth. All who believe are the Israel of God, the Jew first and then the Greek.

The day of judgement is not come yet ....

I'm going to say something bold

The church has not got the doctrines concerning the last judgement right.
So you think certain non-believers in Christ will have salvation even though Christ specifically says that is not the case?

Mary conceived Jesus through a miracle by the Holy Spirit of God. He wasn’t born of man, but literally born of God.

No one else has been conceived this way according to the Bible, thus in this sense Jesus is the only begotten Son of God. I hope you agree because I’ve been seeing people deny this more as of late.
Not doubting you but just asking, when you say you’ve been seeing people deny Christ being conceived by the Holy Spirit, are you seeing this from Christians?

The Jewish religion is antichrist.
Keep in mind that if not for the Jews salvation would not be a reality for the Gentile population!

"Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:

21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.

22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again.

24 For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?

25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:" Romans 11:20-26

Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. John 3:18

Some folks believe Jews are saved because they’re Jews. I don’t see how an unbeliever has salvation.
amen if they accepted the gospel that will be saved if they didn’t they won’t be the gospel came to them first and then was sent to everyone else through those who believed

people think that because they don’t understand israel broke Gods covenant and cursed themselves to this end

“I am sought of them that asked not for me; I am found of them that sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not called by my name.

I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts; a people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face; that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense upon altars of brick; Behold, it is written before me: I will not keep silence, but will recompense, even recompense into their bosom, your iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together, saith the LORD, which have burned incense upon the mountains, and blasphemed me upon the hills: therefore will I measure their former work into their bosom.

Thus saith the LORD, As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one saith, Destroy it not; for a blessing is in it: so will I do for my servants' sakes, that I may not destroy them all. And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah an inheritor of my mountains: and mine elect shall inherit it, and my servants shall dwell there.

But ye are they that forsake the LORD, that forget my holy mountain, that prepare a table for that troop, and that furnish the drink offering unto that number. Therefore will I number you to the sword, and ye shall all bow down to the slaughter: because when I called, ye did not answer; when I spake, ye did not hear; but did evil before mine eyes, and did choose that wherein I delighted not.

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, my servants shall eat, but ye shall be hungry: behold, my servants shall drink, but ye shall be thirsty: behold, my servants shall rejoice, but ye shall be ashamed: behold, my servants shall sing for joy of heart, but ye shall cry for sorrow of heart, and shall howl for vexation of spirit.

And ye shall leave your name for a curse unto my chosen: for the Lord GOD shall slay thee, and call his servants by another name: that he who blesseth himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God of truth; and he that sweareth in the earth shall swear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hid from mine eyes. For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭65:1-3, 6-9, 11-

being born a Jew of the flesh can’t help anyone they are in the same boat as gentiles and need to accept the gospel to be saved

God offered them a new covenant and to wash away thier sins but when he came they rejected and killed him but some , a remnant believed and were saved and then after still more repented and believed just as many gentiles did and do still.

your right ehat nationality we are doesn’t mean anything they broke the covenant given to them it’s why it came to that in isaiah 65 he was always warning them from the law itself and they continually worshipped idols and false gods so eventually his word came to pass

“But if ye will not hearken unto me, and will not do all these commandments; and if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant: I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it. And I will set my face against you, and ye shall be slain before your enemies: they that hate you shall reign over you; and ye shall flee when none pursueth you. And if ye will not yet for all this hearken unto me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins. And I will break the pride of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass: And if ye walk contrary unto me, and will not hearken unto me; I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to your sins. I will also send wild beasts among you, which shall rob you of your children, and destroy your cattle, and make you few in number; and your high ways shall be desolate. And if ye will not be reformed by me by these things, but will walk contrary unto me; then will I also walk contrary unto you, and will punish you yet seven times for your sins. And I will bring a sword upon you, that shall avenge the quarrel of my covenant: and when ye are gathered together within your cities, I will send the pestilence among you; and ye shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy. And when I have broken the staff of your bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver you your bread again by weight: and ye shall eat, and not be satisfied. And if ye will not for all this hearken unto me, but walk contrary unto me; then I will walk contrary unto you also in fury; and I, even I, will chastise you seven times for your sins. And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall ye eat. And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your images, and cast your carcases upon the carcases of your idols, and my soul shall abhor you. And I will make your cities waste, and bring your sanctuaries unto desolation, and I will not smell the savour of your sweet odours. And I will bring the land into desolation: and your enemies which dwell therein shall be astonished at it. And I will scatter you among the heathen, and will draw out a sword after you: and your land shall be desolate, and your cities waste.”
‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭26:14-19, 21-33‬ ‭

thier covenant was a blessing if they honored it and a horrible curse of they dishonored and broke it

any former jew can be saved but they absolutely have to accept the gospel just as any man does and if they reject the gospel they aren’t going to be saved just as any man

Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. John 3:18

Some folks believe Jews are saved because they’re Jews. I don’t see how an unbeliever has salvation.
Great verse, Snacks!! There is a companion verse that uses the exact same phrase, and both verses PROVE that eternal security is from the moment of faith in Jesus Christ.

iow, once belief, always saved.

Jn 3:18 - Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

2 Thess 2:12 - and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.

The key to who will be condemned to the LOF are those who "have not believed". Plainly stated in these 2 verses.

What this means is that once a person has placed their faith in Jesus Christ for salvation, regardless of what may happen in the future, they will not be condemned.

This aligns perfectly with John 10:28 - I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.

The words "shall never perish" refers to never being condemned to the LOF. And the sole condition for never perishing is having received the gift of eternal life.

Some people will claim that if a believer apostatizes from the faith, they become (or revert back to) an unbeliever. But this isn't technicially true. Why not? Because at the MOMENT of faith in Christ, John 5:24 is in play: “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.

iow, the believer "has crossed over from death to life (eternal)", from the moment of faith. The believer has (possesses) eternal life, and John 10:28 comes into play. And the believer is promised that they "will not be judged (condemned to the LOF).

Further, the believer is said to be born again, or made alive, or regenerated. This is irrevocable. The believer is justified. Rom 5:1.

1Jn 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
1Jn 2:23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

1Jn 4:2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
1Jn 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

2Jn 1:9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
2Jn 1:10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
2Jn 1:11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

The Jewish religion fits the Biblical description of antichrist . Please notice I did not say there is no Salvation for the Jew, Jesus is

the Way the Truth and Light for all people.

Keep in mind that if not for the Jews salvation would not be a reality for the Gentile population!
And all my life i thought Salvation came from God .

yes I’ve seen it from a Christian here on this very forum and on a different platform.

His reasons was that “God’s only begotten Son” refers to when Jesus was resurrected and not pre-crucifixion Son of God if I understood him correctly. He said he would write a thread about it, but I looked for a couple weeks and still haven’t seen it yet. 🤷‍♂️

We tend to believe based on our feelings yet OP you are right. Today anyone that hears rejects Jesus Christ are lost. He came to His own before sending them out into the world. They saw Him face to face and reject Him. Many will try to get in.. as He said to His own.. I am the way I am the truth I am the life no one comes to the Father but by me.

I see what you’re getting at, but Jesus identified Himself as God’s only begotten Son prior to His resurrection.

Let me ask a question from a different angle. Do you believe Jesus is the Son of God prior to His resurrection?

True, but definitely not in the way that you or others here are describing. In fact, the only time that Jesus referred to himself as "the only begotten Son of God" was when he was foretelling of his resurrection from the dead and how our salvation is directly linked to our belief in the same.

John chapter 3

[16] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
[17] For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
[18] He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, can be saved without a belief in Christ's resurrection from the dead.

Romans chapter 10

[6] But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above)
[7] Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)
[8] But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
[9] That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
[10] For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

In fact, if Christ isn't risen from the dead, then our faith is vain, and we are yet in our sins.

"And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins." (I Corinthians 15:17)

In order to be saved, we not only need to believe in the "only begotten Son" or in the risen Lord and Savior, but also "in the name of the only begotten Son of God". Jesus wasn't given a name above all names until AFTER he was "begotten" or until AFTER he was raised from the dead and had ascended back to the Father in heaven, and it is this exalted name that we truly need to believe in.

If you think that anybody is saved by believing that Jesus was "begotten" in the sense that you and others here are describing or by believing simply in his virgin birth, then you're greatly deceived. Without Christ's resurrection from the dead, ascension back to the Father in heaven, and sub sequential glorification, there is no salvation at all available to anybody on the planet. That's reality. Jesus was "appointed heir of all things" (Heb. 1:2) AFTER all of these things transpired, and nobody can be made a "joint-heir with Christ" (Rom. 8:17) apart from faith in these very things.

Let me ask a question from a different angle. Do you believe Jesus is the Son of God prior to His resurrection?
Was Jesus "the Son of God" prior to his resurrection? Yes, he was, BUT he was NOT "the only begotten Son of God" prior to his resurrection because Jesus was "begotten" on the day in which he was raised from the dead.

Furthermore, Jesus wasn't declared to be the Son of God with power until AFTER his resurrection from the dead.

Romans chapter 1

[1] Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,
[2] (Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,)
[3] Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;
[4] And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

Anyhow, eventually, I'll start a blog on when Jesus was truly "begotten". When I do, I will address every single time in scripture that the word "begotten" is used in relation to Jesus Christ. At that time, it will become clearly evident, to anybody who doesn't stubbornly shut their eyes to the truth, that is, that every single time that the word "begotten" is used in relation to Jesus Christ it is used in relation to his resurrection from the dead.

I disagree with your answer....heres why..
Jesus is referred to as the second adam. Adam was made from the dust of the earth. Molded and shaped by the hand of God. All other men from that point came from the womb of a women from the seed of man.

Jesus was born of a virgin not from the seed of man but by the Holy Spirit....both are exclusive.
Adam was created but Jesus always was in fact JESUS created adam but JESUS was not created but always was therefore Jesus is unique in all of creation being not created but clothed in flesh and bone.

Jesus is the only begotten son of the father..one of a kind...the only one.
Well, apart from your opening and closing statements, I agree with you.

Your attempts to link when Jesus was "begotten" to his birth are truly futile.

Again, here is the verse in question:

"He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." (John 3:18)

Using your terribly faulty logic and total misapplication of scripture, one would have to conclude that a belief in Jesus' virgin birth is what saves us in that you're insisting that this is how the words "only begotten Son of God" apply to Jesus.

If you truly believe what you're postulating here, then you're greatly deceived.

Jesus was "begotten" on the day in which he was raised from the dead, and nobody can be saved apart from belief in that.

So you think certain non-believers in Christ will have salvation even though Christ specifically says that is not the case?
I believe there will be day of judgement when God will come and judge all the people with perfect equity.

Let me ask you this, in the days of Joseph when there was famine throughout the whole earth and Jacob sent his sons down to Egypt for bread lest they die. Did Joseph save the house of Israel before they knew him? or did they discover after that it was their brother Joseph who they had long ago treated spitefully?
