Sure is Lee. He is referred to as both the Holy Spirit and the Holy Ghost. The translators we're correct in doing so. They are exactly the same. In the 16th century, Holy Ghost was used in the following. On the cross when Jesus finished atoning for our sins, He "gave up the ghost". That wasn't a spooky demon portrayed in modern Halloween. That was the holy Son of God . He left His body until the third day.
You and I will recognize the definition from context. It's not always that clear, but just keep reading the KJV and you will see a lot of words defined by their usage.
I've only heard a few pastors cover this topic, so it's a common question, rarely addressed from my limited observation

The Holy Spirit should never had been translated as Holy Ghost. Our Father is not a spook!

The KJV says in John 4:24 that "God is a Spirit" (the NKJV renders this as "God is Spirit").

From what I understand, in folklore, the word "GHOST" was used to specify the spirit was of a creature of the natural world, and not a demon or some otherwise "otherworldly spirit". So, the spirit of God would not understood to be a "ghost" until after Jesus.

In the bible, "ghost" and "spirit" are both translated from the greek Pneuma: and most people, from what I can tell, use the terms interchangeably with reference to the Spirit of God.

It may have something to do with previous version of the Bible. The KJV team consulted previous translations, they didn't translate from scratch. For example, in Luke 11:13, the Tyndale Bible says "holy sprete"; the Geneva Bible, "holy Ghost"; the KJV says "Holy Spirit."

The KJV wasn't the first to use Ghost.

Yes! If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

Have you received the Holy Spirit since you believed? As it is written, they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. And unto what were you baptized?
