The OP did not define what he means by a "true believer" as opposed a mere "believer". He will affirm the responses that agree with his unstated definitions, and reject those that disagree. We're wasting our time responding further.

If we are furthering understanding of the Kingdom we cannot be wasting our time.

You're only wasting your time if you presume that discussions surrounding your understanding of God are extrinsic in value. When in reality, evangelism, apologetics and evangelism are equally intrinsic in value, and our involvement in these being perhaps even more beneficial to oursevles.

You either believe or you don't. No such distinction or differentiation in the bible.

Jesus spoke to the 12 when they asked Him why He spoke in parables to the masses, He differentiated in that the 12 were more privy to His teaching, signs and wonders than the masses.:)(y)

Correctly or Incorrectly?
Are you trying to use the minimum number of keystrokes in your posts? Here is the post to which you posted the above response:

"You either believe or you don't. No such distinction or differentiation in the bible. "

Perhaps you are asking whether you believe correctly or incorrectly, or you don't. That's nonsensical.

Or you are asking, If there is no such distinction or differentiation in the Bible, is that correctly or incorrectly. That's foolish.

Come on, man! Step up and provide some more words so that we can understand what is in your head. We can't read your mind.

Thread Title ----
What's the Difference Between a “True Believer”

And a person who calls themselves a Believer ---------

Maybe there isn't a difference.[/QUOTE]

I say ---OH! but there is ------

Jesus said ---in Matthew 7 ---No everyone who says Lord --Lord will enter the Kingdom Heaven ------these are who just call themselves Believers

1666457843773.jpeg

I say -----Many SAY they Believe in A God ------Many Say they Believe that Jesus is the Son of God ------but have not accepted Jesus as their Lord and Saviour in their hearts ------

So a believer can just believe in the person of God but have not acted upon that belief to receive God in their heart ------so they are not a True believer ------they are just mouthing words with no action ---which is dead Faith ------

A True Believer---doesn't just Believe--- they accept that belief and receive it in their hearts -----they are a New Creation in Christ by and through their Faith that produces ------Right -Faith always requires a positive response ------

You're making the assumption that thd masses were all believers and not a combination of curiosity seekers, jews that hated him such as the Jewish heirarchy, the needy, etc., but not his chosen 12 which is way different.

Don't know what you mean. Belief is pretty straight forward: you either believe that Jesus is the Son of God, the Christ, or you don't. Belief and correct doctrine are two different things which you're mixing together as one on the same. Belief and doctrine are apples and oranges.

Jesus Christ taught correct doctrine; to believe Jesus Christ is to believe correct doctrine.

and a “Believer”?
Sorry I'm late to the thread here but I thought I'd throw my two cents in anyway.

I believe what you're expressing here is the difference between intellectual assent to a set of facts (God exists, Jesus Christ died and was raised from the dead etc etc) and a pure heart believe - something that is deeper than intellectual so that you trust God in all things, especially for your salvation.

So true believe is both intellectual and soul deep.

Satan believes in God - no doubt in his mind. But he doesn't love God, didn't put his trust in God, wanted to be like God instead. There's no heart to that kind of belief.

Thank you for your contribution.
Yes, and in fact satan is in relationship as well, one criteria I am accustomed to see.
We are seated with Christ in the Heavenly Places.

Kenneth Copeland is a false everything.... teacher, preacher, prophet, & christian.
Yet he claims to be a christian.
What do you think the majority of his followers are?
If they are blind, it's because the Spirit of God isn't in them. Yet they will claim to be saved.
The RCC isn't even a real church, yet its constituents claim to be saved, all the while they are spiritually blind, not knowing they are drowning in heresy.
There are many who believe to be saved that are going to split the gates of Hell open wide. They will believe a lie & be damned.
So, there's those who 'say' they believe, and then there's true believers that do.
The final sum of it all is sayers vs. doers.
The doer is blessed in his deeds.
