SHEPHERDS, FISHERMEN, SINNERS, POOR, AND THE SICK

When Jesus performed His ministry on earth, He looked with kindness and centered His ministry on 'Common People'. Shepherds/fishermen/sinnners/poor/sick. He sort of shunned the powerful/rich/Pharisees/Scribes, they weren't really interested in His Gospel message.

This gives me great hope, because I am just a common person, no power/wealth/influence. Jesus came for me.

Jesus never ever shunned anyone to sit with Him or to eat with Him ----if the rich ---poor ----Pharisees or Scribes came to Jesus and wanted to sit with Him ---talk with Him or eat with Him ---He accepted them --

paul later actually says that having a lot of wealth is a spiritual gift in the church meant to be shared with the poor among them even commanding them to be generous and help

T he issue is when money is more important to us than generousity and helping those we can help with whatever we have little or alot mammon can’t be something that we chase and value so much like zacceus we need to be quick to share generously if we have wealth and mammon to spare it can otherwise become this

We have to carefully attend our heart we’re commanded to love other people and if we have a lot of money that means we can really help them out in deed and truth

airs definately the heart because he knows what we do comes from the condition of our heart if we’re serving money and possessions we need to repent and start sharing with the needy around us

One of the proofs and comforts Jesus send back to John the Baptist, when he sent message asking if He was the one, was that the poor have the gospel preached to them.
Through out history the average joe and the poor have been neglected if not persecuted by elites, and the religious. Jesus, did not do this. He set out to the down trodden directly.

Actually Christ shunned no one. He even went to have a meal in a Pharisee's house, and specifically told Zacchaeus the tax collector that He wanted to dine with him. But the religious leaders of Israel hated Jesus without a cause. He told them to repent but when they refused to do so, and hardened their hearts, He pronounced terrible woes on them.

At the same time, the Lord Jesus Christ came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. And sinners did flock to Him. Also Christ deliberately chose ordinary men to become His apostles, and one who was a "devil" was chosen to do what he would do -- betray Christ. Yet there came a time when all His apostles forsook Him and fled. But that too was anticipated, and Christ did not hold that against them.

Today the ones who are most receptive to the Gospel are still ordinary people who see their need of a Savior and turn to Christ for salvation. But the Gospel must be preached to "every creature" regardless. Some very wealthy people also became sincere disciples and shared their wealth with the less fortunate.

1 Corinthians says the same. God chose that which is lowly in the world.

People who are well off just don't care for the Gospel in general, they have gotten their reward in this time and hell awaits. Anyone who has done soul winning will know what I am saying is true, the poor neighborhoods are always more receptive.

Jesus teachkngs are going to challenge us at whatever point has got a hold on our heart could Be mammon and money riches and wealth and greed he’s going to challenge it

could be many many things hat have corrupted our heart for God and our fellow man having possessions doesn’t disqualify being greedy with possessions does choosing those things over the lord and his gospel
