And why do you skip over this part of 1 John 2 that you quoted? See the underlined. I have included the words you put in brackets, and will come to that in a minute. But first, what does it say? It says, if any man sins - that includes regenerate men or women - then he or she has an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous. And why? Because Jesus Christ is the Propitiation for our sins, the sins of Christians, just like He offered His Life also for the sins of the whole world.

[1 John 2:1-2 KJV] My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin ((the world)), we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

As for Hebrews 10:26, yes, it means believers should not deliberately/willfully go on sinning. We may sin out of weakness, and those sins will be forgiven when we confess them. Think of King David, he had the Holy Spirit from his youth. Yet he committed adultery with Uriah's wife. The Lord forgave him when he confessed the sin, but also disciplined him in that.

2 Samuel 12: Nathan rebukes David:

"12 The Lord sent Nathan to David. When he came to him, he said, “There were two men in a certain town, one rich and the other poor. 2 The rich man had a very large number of sheep and cattle, 3 but the poor man had nothing except one little ewe lamb he had bought. He raised it, and it grew up with him and his children. It shared his food, drank from his cup and even slept in his arms. It was like a daughter to him.
4 “Now a traveler came to the rich man, but the rich man refrained from taking one of his own sheep or cattle to prepare a meal for the traveler who had come to him. Instead, he took the ewe lamb that belonged to the poor man and prepared it for the one who had come to him.”
5 David burned with anger against the man and said to Nathan, “As surely as the Lord lives, the man who did this must die! 6 He must pay for that lamb four times over, because he did such a thing and had no pity.”
7 Then Nathan said to David, “You are the man! This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you from the hand of Saul. 8 I gave your master’s house to you, and your master’s wives into your arms. I gave you all Israel and Judah. And if all this had been too little, I would have given you even more. 9 Why did you despise the word of the Lord by doing what is evil in his eyes? You struck down Uriah the Hittite with the sword and took his wife to be your own. You killed him with the sword of the Ammonites. 10 Now, therefore, the sword will never depart from your house, because you despised me and took the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your own.’
11 “This is what the Lord says: ‘Out of your own household I am going to bring calamity on you. Before your very eyes I will take your wives and give them to one who is close to you, and he will sleep with your wives in broad daylight. 12 You did it in secret, but I will do this thing in broad daylight before all Israel.’”
13 Then David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the Lord.”
Nathan replied, “The Lord has taken away your sin. You are not going to die. 14 But because by doing this you have shown utter contempt for the Lord, the son born to you will die.”

No believer should go on sinning, especially deliberate/willful and deadly/mortal sins, as there will be consequences and Divine Discipline if we do. Nevertheless, if we confess and repent, as King David did here, we will be forgiven, as he was.

if you are still in your sins ...CHRIST isn't Raised in your heart.
[1Co 15:17 KJV] And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.
You do not understand the verses you are quoting.

King David? See this in Psalm 19 which he wrote:

"10They are more precious than gold,
than much pure gold;
they are sweeter than honey,
than honey from the honeycomb.
11By them your servant is warned;
in keeping them there is great reward.
12But who can discern their own errors?

Forgive my hidden faults.
13Keep your servant also from willful sins;
may they not rule over me.
Then I will be blameless,

innocent of great transgression."

So King David says we all have hidden faults for which we have to pray to God for forgiveness.

He then asks God to keep him, His servant, free from willful sins. So that they do not rule over him. This shows he too committed some minor sins, and asked God to forgive him periodically for those sins.

You do not understand the verses you are quoting.
k, here is some more i got wrong then:

John 8:34
Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

1 John 3:6
No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him.

2 Corinthians 5:15
he died for all so that those who live SHOULD LIVE NO LONGER FOR THEMSELVES, but for him who died for them and was raised up

[1Co 6:19-20 ESV]
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? YOU ARE NOT YOUR OWN, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.

1 Peter 2:21
In fact, to this course you were called, because even Christ suffered for you, leaving a model for you to follow his steps closely

John 8:12
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Heb 9:14
How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Gal 5:24
And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

1Co 10:9
Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.

1Co 10:21
Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.

James 1:21
Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.

ohh, what do you think willful sin is? hidden faults that you hope GOD doesn't see?

Do you think you have no hidden fault? For hidden faults, pray to be forgiven, like King David did.

Also beware of spiritual pride, like Christ taught. Don't you remember the Pharisee and Publican?

Luke 18: The Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector
9To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable: 10“Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. 12I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’
13“But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’
14“I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”

the deceived bring this Scripture up as if the publican (tax collector) continued to swindle people after Repenting ...but there is a clear example a few Verses later:

Luke 19:7-10 KJV — And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner. And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold. And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham. For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

i don't ask GOD for separation to perform an act of death. getting mad in traffic isn't a death sin.
Getting mad in traffic is a deed of the flesh.

Galatians 5:19
Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: sexual immorality, impurity, indecent behavior, 20 idolatry, witchcraft, hostilities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions, 21 envy, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Surely you commit much more sin than getting angry in traffic?

Paul is talking about the deeds of the flesh. Your worldly passions and desires, your interests, your passions. Everything that distracts you from that obsession with Jesus.

Put to death the deeds of the flesh and walk by the Spirit every step of the way.

Ok, do it then. Fully Repent. Deny yourself giving into it anymore. Die with CHRIST to be Raised to a New Creation.

  • He, being Sinless and guiltless asked for our Sins to be imputed to Himself... that He would accept the Just punishment that was due do all Sinners.
I was thinking of this before, but hadn’t thought of it in a while so thanks for bringing it up.

What punishment did Jesus that would have otherwise been ours?

No one can fully repent, perfection of the flesh is impossible. We are in a war, our flesh rages against our spirit. If you are putting to death the deeds of the flesh then you will live.

There is a trick to putting to death the deeds of the flesh.

Have you noticed that the deeds of the flesh are the antithesis of love?

Obey Christ's commandment to love others, and you have actually won the battle.

God is love.

We have a two word vocabulary, boast in JESUS and love the brethren with a fervent LOVE.

1 John 3:23-24
This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us. The one who keeps His commandments remains in Him, and He in him. We know by this that He remains in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.

Yes, both Paul and James teach that as well.

Paul: Romans 13:8-13: Love Fulfills the Law
8 Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law. 9 The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” 10 Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

James: 2:8. Love of neighbor as the royal law:

8If you really fulfill the royal law stated in Scripture, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing well.

Agreed that Zacchaeus completely repented, and was completely forgiven by the Lord. But that doesn't prove what you said.

Answer the example of King David quoted earlier. David was indwelt by the Holy Spirit for a long time, yet he sinned by adultery.

What do you think that means? That he never had the Holy Spirit to begin with? Or that, when he sinned, the Holy Spirit left him? Then he was restored by repentance.

Can we stop pretending we don't know what this is really about? If you don't do this, Awesome ...but it still applies to other sins where it's your own will and not HIS.

lusting after a woman with porn is adultery in your heart ...that means it is spiritual adultery against GOD. You are giving into your flesh with your own will saying you want literal separation with GOD to perform the act. it is death. JESUS Said to pluck out your eye before doing it ...He couldn't be more Serious.

Matthew 5:27-29 NKJV — “You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ “But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. “If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.
Deliberate lying would qualify as willful sin. Would it not?

Avoiding the question won’t absolve you of your sin and the truth.

You think i'm lying about porn being an act of death? You have rejected The HOLY SPIRIT so many times Grieving you that your conscience is seared with a hot iron. You have become reprobate. REPENT!

My question has nothing to do with porn.

Have you been on this site before under a different name?

Let's see if you will willingly lie. And by not answering, that is the same as lying. And would also betray cowardice. And you know what God says about cowards!

Revelation 21:8
New International Version

8 But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”
