God knows the end from the beginning and knows at our birth who live holy lives and who won't, He isn't arbitrary in anything, He is a God of purpose.

Hmm... I think I remember the Bible saying God hates things, actions, not people. A proud look, a lying tongue, etc.

As for what that priest is talking about in the video: I can't agree with that. God taking care of you because you need more does not equate with God loving you more. It just means you need more help.

Besides, we all need God equally. Some of us may have more money than others, but we all need God just the same. Rich people have a harder time seeing their need than poor people, thus the parable about the camel and the eye of the needle.

Yes I think I agree with you. God does hates based on what we do. He created each one of us, and He loves what He created.

On my question about Judas my answer is that it was necessary for Judas to be created to fulfill prophecy. That may seem "unfair" but everything He does is perfect, He is so far above my thinking I accept and thank Him for whatever He does. Sold out!

It does seem that He does leave the 99 to find the one lost sheep. Finding the lost sheep could be seen as loving the one more than the others that He left. However, I have to yield to your opinion, much of what the priest said is opinion. Serves to help us think about if does God love one more than the others.

I think is true: If you draw close to Him, He will draw close to you. He can choose some (because He is God) like Paul who was at one time a murder of Christians. Nothing ties His hands in what He does.

Very possibly if a Christian worships Him, Tells Him they love Him, loves His word, becomes yielded in His hands to His wishes, God sees that and will respond in love. That revealed love can be very great, and He can tell you how precious you are to Him.

The Bible teach us that "God is love". He is not capable of hate the way we hate people but He can hate the way we hate broccoli. So like brother Lynx said, he hates the action.

We are either in covenant or out of covenant. If we are out of covenant God hates it because there is a division between him and us. Our purpose is to glorify him

So if Peter tells us to be holy we need to be in covenant and that leads to "completely in love with God, never wanting to offend Him"

Hi there! I'm new on the block. thought I would check out the fellowship. I've thought of this quote before "Does God love some more than others" It does seem that way sometimes in scripture like say John "the disciple whom Jesus Loved and Lazareth then you have Mary Magdelene. They seemed to be really close to the Lord. Maybe it's how we respond to that Love that emanates from Him and we desire to be closed to Him and Therefore He in return He pours out his love on us. For God so Loved the world that He gave His only begotten son! Praise His Holy name! BEHOLD, WHAT manner of Love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God. John 3:16 and 1 john 3:1 God is Holy and awesome and to be feared! Yet He chose to manifest Himself to sinful man. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for good man would one even dare die, But God demonstrates his own love toward us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:7-11

The way I see it is that God loves and that it is very extensive. He loves us, the poor, the hurting, the sparrow, all the animals. He has a very big heart. I know He loves me dearly and I am precious to Him. Although since I am saved, He is living in me all the time, there is also the felt presence which He gives me when He wants to, to my mind and spirit. That presence is very much pleasure. To love Him in return is pleasure. When i worship Him, I don't seek the pleasure of the experience, I worship Him because He is worthy and I love HIm and because I am so grateful to Him. He takes care of giving me the "Felt" presence part whenever He wants, but that is quite often and is not predictable! What I am saying is I am not seeking the experience of the felt pleasure of His company, I am seeking to obey, to love, to adore, to worship and to be loved by my lover. when He wishes.

How He loves each individual is in what He wishes. We can't understand how He thinks. One example is Paul. He killed those that God loved, yet God decided to save Him and love Him. So its not always our immediate love for Him that causes Him to love us all of the time. He is a person and a person that decides sovereignly according to His wishes. " I think that is how He deals with me and you. Do we want to draw closer? Do we want what is offered by this world that is passing away? Do we want to be His living sacrifice, Holy, never wanting to offend Him in the least? For myself I choose to focus on the One I love as much as possible, all of the time, to love Him, to worship Him, to learn more about Him, to talk to Him, to give whatever I can so others will love Him greatly and experience when He wishes the pleasure of His felt love.
