Realizing that Jesus said GOD is a Spirit, I was looking at the difference between His Deity and His Divinity:

And there is a difference between these words! "DEITY" means: the rank or essential nature of God. It refers to "essence". "DIVINITY" means: relating to deity, proceeding from deity. It refers to "quality or attribute" rather than "essence".

Deity vs Divinity - What's the difference?
As nouns the difference between deity and divinity is that deity is the state of being a god; divine characteristics, godhead while divinity is...

God, deity and divinity
Hello, What are the differences between the three following words: god, deity and divinity? Note that I'm only talking about the word "god" with a lowercase "g", not the word "God" with an uppercase "G" whose meaning is evidently far from the other words. Here are the definitions of these...

One must be careful about making too much of a difference of theology between two different English words. It really has little (or no) bearing on the meaning of the Greek text of the New Testament.

All three people of the Trinity: Father, Son, and Spirit are God. All three are deity, and yet they each have a distinct function and role in their display of divinity.

It might be helpful to provide dictionary definitions of the two terms rather than simply saying what they mean according to some web site.

Words have objective meanings, based on actual usage by speakers/writers of that language. Meanings can change over time, and staying relevant requires staying current. "Deity" and "divinity" are not true synonyms, though they are related.

From the Oxford Online Dictionary:

deity: (noun) a god or goddess

divinity: (noun) the quality of being a god or like God or a god (emphasis added)

That "divinity" encompasses "like" means that it is not exclusive to God in its application.
