It's possibly my favorite portrayal of Jesus in any media I've watched. Jesus is usually portrayed as stoic and sometimes robotic. In The Chosen, he has a personality since he was human. He tells jokes, hangs with his followers all while showing his true divine self. They way they balance it is really well done. The Jesus in this show is actually someone I would feel not intimidated to talk to and actually hang around with while also sit around and listen for hours to his great wisdom. Overall the show is great, has great acting, the stories and characters may take some liberties but none of the events of the Bible are changed and it's an overall great experience.

In the portrayal of the sermon on the mount, Jesus is shown creating a script with Matthew's help. Leading up to the sermon, He's depicted as nervous and unsure of Himself. "Backstage" some women have to give Him a colorful garment to wear so He'll look good for His performance. He has to turn to His mother for comfort. This is the Son of God who has just spent 40 days alone in the wilderness fasting and being tempted by Satan, and he has to memorize a script and turn to His mother for confidence? When the time for the sermon finally comes, He steps from behind a curtain onto a stage like he's delivering a monologue in a play.

How is all this not changing the Bible? It's wishful thinking to say this show doesn't change anything in the Bible. Someone who would say such a thing probably doesn't know what the Bible actually says or doesn't care. If you enjoy the show, great; but don't say it changes nothing in the Bible because that simply isn't true.

How accurate is the apostle with a limp that Jesus chose not to heal?

I have seen the first few episodes of "The Chosen". Recently, I was confronted by some church members that recommended I not watch it. They said it is close to "creating an image" and by watching it, we put Jesus in a box, because the show would never capture what he was like and would do a huge injustice just by trying.

Anyone have any thoughts on it? I know I've heard some preachers have spoken out against it (not sure who) Curious to see what you all think.
Thanks in advance!
If you enjoy the series watch it.

The opinion others give means nothing unless you allow others to make up your mind based off their fears.
Which in the case of their claim of a false image of Jesus and whatnot, is absurd.
Every movie made of the Bible stories would fall under that judgement.

Don't take it too seriously. It's a good series.

Haven't seen it but where have you been? Our movie The Frozen Chosen has been on ice so to speak. There are problems galore. Diva actors who don't like subfreezing temps, a donkey with a cold...I could go on but what's the point. I made you first grip on this project so get a grip :D
Let it go.

I've really enjoyed the series! And I didn't expect to at all. Half the time in Season One I held my breath just waiting for Jenkins to screw it all up. Sad commentary on me.

About time a truly wonderful Jesus series has made it into the big screen again.
Me, and all my relatives and friends (who are Christian’s) have enjoyed this and loved it.
Couple of guys from work who are atheists saw it and it has gotten them more engaged in God.
Worldwide this has changed the lives of many people atheist and theist alike.

I think that song is already taken but since Eli1 has come out of hiding perhaps you can audition an alternate sound track.
Okay-- so he didn't exactly say Let it go... he said: Be kind and loving to each other, and forgive each other just as God forgave you.

Same thing!

Did you watch the special where they got the reactions from some Gen Z's?
I haven’t watched any extras yet Magenta. I usually do all those extras at the end of the season. I just enjoy the series first and then check the extras after.

That this whole project has been crowd funded is amazing :D

It is the first multi-season series about the life and ministry of Jesus... ever.

Just talking about Frozen Chosen!
Ah...OK. So you don't think my cheapo knock- off of a successful series has merit. Hmmmm...I guess many successful endeavors had their share of detractors at their inception.

Indeed and this is part of its success because it hasn’t been diluted by the Hollywood lens.
I have found it to be very moving. I watched the first season on Netflix and the the rest on the Angel Studios website.

The funny thing is, when I started watching it recently, it was apparent I had seen some of the beginning before, but had not gone far into the first episode before stopping, possibly because it was a bit slow moving and also probably because it was not following a Biblical narrative. I got over that quickly this time. How they fleshed out the back stories of some of the major players added a rich layer to the story telling; some scenes are almost nail-biters and others are tear inducing with how powerfully portrayed the effect Jesus has on His followers. It is better by far than much else available for viewing.
