What does “alone” really mean?

Jesus said let you’re yes be yes! & you’re no be no!

Be intellectually honest and mean what you say, and say what you mean!

Is it absolute that nothing can be added to anything that is alone?

In reference to the five sola’s

Thanks

The five solas state that Christians are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, as revealed by Scripture alone, to the glory of God alone.

I hope this helps

Jesus said, "Let your yes be yes," not "Let you're yes be yes."

It is an absolute fact of English grammar that "your" and "you're" are different words.

If by "alone" you refer the five solas where it says by grace alone faith alone and so on, it is a protestant invention they came up with to push back against the abuses of the roman catholic church.

The idea of faith alone is completely unbiblical as the only times you find the words "faith" and "alone" in the same verse is in James, where the teaching is refuted.

The thing about faith is, it is never ever alone, because faith worketh by love and if you have faith, it will manifest it some way. Now: ALL protestants believed this, they believed that dead faith saves no one, but why did you make a sola fide then? Because it sounds catchy and its something to make a separation to the catholic church with.

How about this: get rid of infant baptism, now thats a good way to separate.

Grace alone (not grace plus merited favor) Faith alone (not faith plus works) Christ alone (not Christ plus something else).

Then who their statements contradict this?
Luther: “we are justified by faith alone” but that faith is not alone!

Then it’s not “faith alone”!

Thanks

Ignorance of basic English usage diminishes your credibility. However, you are free to look stupid if you choose.
