Jesus blamed it in unbelief, love of sin. not on them not being redeemed.. I think that is a stretch we all were unredeemed at one point.
Do the unredeemed fail to believe and love sin? And morning stretches are good for you. Limbo?

John 3:16-17 . . For God so loved the world the elect, that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent
not his Son into the world to condemn the world the elect; but that the world the elect through
him might be saved.

1Tim 4:10 . . God, who is the savior of all men all the elect
_
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭3:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭3:3‬ ‭KJV‬

Let me make this very simple. To interpret "every man" in Heb. 2:9 to mean every person who has ever lived or will ever live you MUST have the context to show it means that. Compare the following with the same wording,

"The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it." (Luke 16:16)

Just as in Heb. 2:9, the context of Luke 16:16 requires it to be restricted by the context. In both verses it refers to believers, NOT everyone who has lived or will ever live. If the meaning is not restricted by the context you have universal salvation and not one goes to hell. We know not every man as Jesus spoke was pressing their way into the kingdom of God!

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. ” (Romans 5:8–10).

He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world(1 John 2:2)

“The next day he saw Jesus coming to him and said, ‘Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”” (John 1:29,)

“I am the living bread that came down out of heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread also which I will give for the life of the world is My flesh” (John 6:51,)

“And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself” (John 12:32,)

“For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony given at the proper time” (1 Timothy 2:5–6)

For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God,who is the Savior of all people especially of those who believe. 1 Tim.

The point is that if all would believe all would be saved, since Christ died for all.
amen it’s profoundly simple

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;

but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭24:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:11-14, 16-17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And the gospel must first be published among all nations.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭13:10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God has made a way for anyone to be saved all that matters is true sincere belief of the gospel he sent into the world as a witness of salvation

Not sure what this is about. I can not interpret for you.

I can question you, as you can question me. But only you can interpret for yourself.

I praise God people questioned me, or I would be stuck in alot of false beliefs I grew up with.

Regarding the OP...

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life." John 3:16

Christ died for every single person, those who have died, those who are alive, and those who are yet to be born.

If God had his way everyone would be saved. But thank the heavens, He is not what satan says, and wants us all on a lease doing his whim.

That lie caused 1/3 of heaven to rebel. That same lie caused the fall of mankind..

God is not just out to save that which was lost. he is out to shut the mouths of the rebellion so their will never be a rebellion again.
There are times when you post things that are really good, then others, like now, when one is shocked that you made such a claim. You said: "If God had his way everyone would be saved."

WHAT????? What kind of god do you worship?

Do you not believe in the Sovereignty of God? Do you not believe that God is all powerful? Do you not believe that which Scripture says is True?

Isa 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create calamity: I the LORD do all these things.
Isa 45:8 Drop down, ye heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness: let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness spring up together; I the LORD have created it.
Isa 45:9 Woe unto him that strives with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands?

If God had desired or decreed that all would be saved - then all would be saved. Who do you think could stop HIM from carrying out His will?

Isa_46:10 declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done; saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure;

And why do you pit one verse of Scripture against another? You were given Eph. 1:11 and you replied with 2 Pet. 3:9. Do you think that one verse of Scripture can nullify another? Instead of giving a verse of Scripture, why don't you discuss this intelligently? Why not tell everyone what Eph. 1:11 or 1:4 mean in your opinion?

I personally, would love to hear what these verses teach because it is apparent, that you see in them, something different than the obvious teaching.

Wow you really had to start a post this way????

You said: "If God had his way everyone would be saved."

I worship a God of love
I worship a God who loves his creation so much he was willing to die for them
I worship A God that wil lnot force you to reject him, or force you to believe him.
I worship a God who is not a respector of persons (chose one while ignoring the other)

lol. Yes, God is soverign

He also is a God of perfect Love

He is also a god of perfect justice

All three of these work together to form Gods plan of the ages.

In perfect justice. God has placed all have sinned and fall short. hence all are condemned

In perfect love, He died to offer salvation for all. But he in love will not force you to receive his gift. He wants you to take it. as any loving father would do.

Yes we know about the proof texts.

And no it does man "universal salvation" because we know by other verses that each person needs to come to faith on an individual level.

What this verse simply states is the Jesus died for everyone.
It is just the doctrine of limited atonement which requires that the verse be adjusted to mean something beyond what it states.

Jesus died for everyone.

Shocking to see how wide flung is the erroneous teaching of CAlvin & those who hold to it !

Just wow !
Agree.
Same old proof texts, same old responses, it all sounds programmed.

Wow indeed.

Thanks for your response. However, it seems in way to many cases, individuals on this chat refuse to engage in meaningful conversation or debate. Here in this post, you answered what type of god you believe in but did not respond as to your interpretation of Eph. 1-11. It was upon these verses that the conversation should be detailed. For in these type of verses the Doctrine of Election has it's being. If the Doctrine is a lie, then give the proper interpretation.

You said you believe in the Sovereignty of God. Yet, you give know explanation as to the paradox you created. when you said: God desires all to be saved and yet, we know they will not be. How then is God's will subverted?

Does God work on the unredeemed to draw them to himself?

John 1:1-9 says that The Word illuminates every man who comes into the
world. For centuries; His work of universal enlightenment has been going on
without the Bible via the cosmos

Ps 19:1-4 . . The heavens tell of the glory of God, the skies display his
marvelous craftsmanship. Day after day they continue to speak; night after
night they make him known. They speak without a sound or a word; their
voice is silent in the skies; yet their message has gone out to all the earth,
and their words to all the world.

Rom 1:19-20 . .The truth about God is known to them instinctively. God has
put this knowledge in their hearts. From the time the world was created,
people have seen the earth and sky and all that God made. They can clearly
see his invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature.

Do some resist the calling, while others look for answers.

Scientific thinkers like Michio Kaku, Carl Sagan, Neal deGrasse Tyson, and
Michelle Thaller are aware of the possibility of intelligent design but prefer to
explain the existence of the cosmos on their own terms.

For crying out loud, Jesus Christ died for everyone. John 3.16-18 makes that emphatically clear. Whoever espouses otherwise is a disrespectful heretic to Christ crucified, dead, buried and Resurrected, and is completely void of any Truth given by the Holy Spirit.
That was a really strong statement.

Now that you have called me and others a heretic and devoid of Truth, perhaps you could do something meaningful and give the proper interpretation to my previous post. POST #21.

You hear that boys and girls?
You’re all worthless and weak.
Get in the back of the bus and be quiet.
Yesterday wrote a reply to a common tater and I decided to refrain from entering it but the idea still lingered and hangs on even now so far into this morning.

so, here is what I had written, "
In general, we are always right in your own mind but can't pretend to know what's in anyone else's mind.
And the LORD said to Moses, "I have seen this people, and indeed it is a stiff-necked people!" There'd be better odds of going into a mosque and convincing those 'faithful' to change their minds."

Then I looked up 'stiff-necked' and got as many opinions of its meaning as there are minds coming up with opinions.
And then I pictured when you place your hand on someone cheek and say, "hey... look at me..." and they're like... "no, nuh uh, nnnn" and stiffen their neck so you can't make them look at you, even when all you were trying to tell them was, "you're right."
