Do you know of any scriptures that teach a great end-time revival?

IDK my sister and I were discussing this the other day. I hear people use Acts 2:17 speaking of the last days. But then I think revival has been a misused word and not applied correctly. I think many don't know the difference between a revival and a renewal.

That's a good scripture in general principle, but it doesn't teach that people will humble themselves, pray and seek His face. Can't see that it teaches a great end-time revival.
And jesus said to the Pharisees.....thee stones themselves will start to sing. Are we not the stones of the church?

Acts 2:17 ; Peter was using that prophecy to speak of that moment in time. Not some future occurance.

The "last days" Peter quotes from in Joel 2 is indeed an end time prophecy yes. But what Peter is pointing to merely a PARTIAL fulfillment in that peculiar point of time.

Joel 2:28-31 is a SEQUENTIAL series of events prophecy (many are), key word "before" vv. 20. Several things do in fact happen "before" the DOTL, such as the Pentecost event. The devastating judgment parts come later......

Act 2:20
The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:

True, time will tell. True revival is not about staying in one place searching for an emotional feeling, but true revival stirs up people where they depart and go out and preach the gospel both publicly and privately. What we are seeing could actually be doing more harm than good, people seeking an emotional experience rather than truth from the word of God.
I've noticed a lot of fruit here that might be of interest. There are many churches preaching the gospel publicly and from house to house, but I've not seen the zeal of such a percentage of the assembly. That is encouraging to see, but will receive no good media coverage.
The grace of God is what makes me emotional, but it's a response to His Word and answers to prayer. The biggest blessings are seeing someone turn from trusting in their good works to trust the Savior.
I agree that emotional devotion is not a substitute for doctrine. We have football stadiums full of emotions that will have no redeeming value. Many TV mega churches seem likewise because of the false gospel messages too. Their enthusiasm is of no consequence without the proper Object of faith.

I agree with your point. I disagree however that this passage shows there will be a great end-time revival. First, the text doesn't say that. Second, if locusts from the bottomless pit, the waters turning to blood, etc. can't convince them to repent, why would an angel preaching the gospel change their minds?
Excellent point. If they won't hear Moses and the prophets neither will they hear if one is raised from the dead even. Faith still comes by hearing...not signs.

Honestly, I think there are a lot of fake charismatic churches; and I don't think their goal is to say what is actually in the bible- it's to distract people from what is actually in the bible and make church look stupid to future generations and maybe take advantage of the ignorant to launder some money in the process.

God is just, long suffering, gracious,
He cannot judge them, unless they have heard the gospel. They will be without excuse.
Where in scripture does it say God cannot judge someone without them first hearing the gospel?
Romans 1 says they are without excuse and makes no mention of the gospel being preached?

We used to have this kind of service in the 90s at my church in Texas and nobody claimed it was revival. More churches had it. But now it's rare. Just a pentecostal service.

It's not just in charismatic services but across the board. When gifts become more sought after than the Giver, His presence is soon removed.

Question is:
Were the pastors asleep at the wheel? Or what?

Renewal is a Charismatic word. Revival is an old-fashioned non-Charismatic word. They mean the same thing.

I think it's a shame that if everyone gets in tongues really loud it's called revival when revival would be if people started loving their neighbors and starting charities.

Renewal is progressive speak, we all got a happy, got our blessing and went home. Revival is indeed an old fashioned word that means we were so changed, we went out into our community and brought them in and they were changed and it and it continued and changed everyone it touched. Not an in house I got a blessing renewal but an outreach change the community, bring in the lost, addictions broken, marriages saved, wayward children come home. Total difference to me.

It's a non- denominational school. No one is pushing anything that I have yet seen, nor do I think the school has labeled it a revival. People are so desperate to see some move of God they are labeling it. I think it would be better if everyone would back off, stop speculating and labeling and let God take care of it. If it's false it will fail all on it's own, it won't need our help.

I haven't been to any of the services, they are still continuing. I don't think it's "just those people" or "just like such n such revival". Our youth need a touch of God desperately. And I think instead of putting it down or talking about what none of us know, we need to pray it is real and for our youth. We need revival, this has happened in 20 colleges now. It would be nice, for once, if Christians would pray before making judgement calls.

Mark 6:11 KJV
And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

Thanks for taking the time to answer. So you extrapolate from that verse that the gospel must be preached to a person for them to be judged?
In Romans 1 Paul has people without excuse because God can be known through creation and through conscience.

Matthew 24:14 KJV
(Thanks so much for the response.
I am not judgemental on those who don’t respond. We are to be examples.
1 Timothy 4:12 KJV
Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
But we are human and can slip up/fail sometimes)

And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
In the judgment court there must be a witness, so the right judgment is passed.

Yes, I knew God through creation, but I didn’t know that He sent His Son to die in our place = the Gospel, until the day I was told.
