is Psalm 119 the Son's prayer for life because of His obedience to the law in giving His life to save us?
Psalms 119 is a wonderful guide for saved Christians. It tells us how to live as Christ's own, how to be successful, contented and happy. It does not tell us how to be saved, it is for how to live as a saved person.

The bible is truth for everyone. Being a Jew or a gentile does not change the truths given in our bible. The sermon on the mount explains this in the fifth chapter of Matthew. Matt. 5: 18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.

The rest of that chapter explains how the old testament gave the law in stone (fleshly) and how Christ gave that very same law in the spirit. The law is not changed, it is fulfilled.

Christ fulfilled all Passover celebrated, we were told to always celebrate Passover.

The Passover should certainly bring us closer to the Son. It is amazing how His sacrifice completely matched up with the Passover, Unleavened Bread feast and First Fruits. Can it be any more obvious it is all true and was arraigned by the Creator from long long ago?

The most amazing thing is how people do not get it, especially those who regard the Passover. The good Friday thing does not help. The Christian Church should closely follow the Passover calendar. The feast of First Fruits is always on the Sunday following the weekly Sabbath so celebrating resurrection Sunday could always be on that day. If Nisan 14 falls on any particular weekday it could be recognized as the day He was crucified. This year the days line up the same with Nisan 14 being on Wednesday.

One of the main things Psalm 119 teaches us is how the Son conquered death through His obedience to the law and His Father and how He depended on His Father through it all. None of us can be saved by the law but He was saved by His obedience in giving His life to save us as the law required of Him. No one else could pray Psalm 119 in truth. Only He could and He asked to be raised to life again because of His obedience throughout the Psalm. There is no way to understand Psalm 119 without it being the Son's prayer.

THE PASSOVER BEGINS Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at sundown.

WHAT THE PASSOVER REPRESENTS The Passover commemorates the exodus of the children of Israel from Egypt by the hand of the Lord. Israel had been in captivity in Egypt for over 400 years. Because of Pharaoh's refusal to release the children of Israel from bondage, God afflicted Egypt with plagues. The last plague issued was the killing of all the Egyptians first born. A death angel was to pass through the land, and to ensure that their first born would be spared, the Israelites were instructed by God, to mark their door posts with the blood of a lamb. The death angel would see the marking and thus pass over the house that had blood.

The Israelites were only in the land of Egypt for 215 years, and for 135 of those years they lived as free citizens.

And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.”

Jesus' last supper was a paschal lamb, and his men ate it with him the night
of his arrest. (Matt 26:17-20, Mark 14:12-17, and Luke 22:7-15)

The Jews ate their paschal lamb after he was dead and buried. (John 13:1-2,
John 18:28-29, John 19:13-14, and John 19:31)

The Jews were somehow unaware that their religious calendar was tardy the
year that Christ was crucified. He, being a prophet in direct contact with
God, would of course have known the precise moment the Passover that
year was supposed to begin; which is no doubt at least one of the reasons
why Christ commenced the feast before the Jews did.

Ironically, the Jews were careful to avoid going after Jesus during Passover.

Matt 26:3-5 . .Then the chief priests and the elders of the people
assembled in the palace of the high priest, whose name was Caiaphas, and
they plotted to arrest Jesus in some sly way and kill him. But not during the
feast-- they said --or there may be a riot among the people.

Due to their religious calendar's error, the Jews inadvertently crucified Jesus
during the very season they wanted to avoid.

Is Nisan 14 the Passover preparation day when the Lamb was sacrificed and prepared for the meal after sunset at the beginning of Nisan 15? If so, then wasn't the Last Supper eaten at the beginning of Nisan 14 after sunset on Nisan 13? It would have been on Nisan 14 which is the Passover preparation day for the Lamb that would be eaten in the early hours of Nisan 15. Lamb is not mentioned in the Last Supper meal. It was a Passover meal eaten on the Preparation day of the Lamb when He would be killed. Wouldn't the meal the the Apostles and disciples and women ate in the early hours of Nisan 15 the first day of Unleavened Bread have been the Passover Lamb meal? He became their Passover.

John gives the most detail. Thank you for the verses that you provided. Does John say the Jews and leaders were mistaken about the days of the feast? John seems to indicate they were correct that He was killed during the preparation day when the Lamb was sacrificed.

Exo 12:11 And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the LORD'S Passover.

Apparently I have to do this in two posts..... days on following post

The following information is primarily to distinguish the days leading up to the crucifixion and the correct day when Christ was raised. It does not agree with religion but it does set the proper timeline biblically.
The significance of the days may seem miniscule when you weigh this in the balance of what was accomplished on the cross …. But since God thought this important enough to have it recorded in his Word….…. it is important.

I have noted the days along with an event or two, but there is a ton of events that take place between the scripture … however the purpose of this is to distinguish the days. (Always keep in mind that the new day began at sunset ….not midnight)

The Sign

Mat 12:39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:

40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

There are many scripture that give reference to Jesus being raised the third day …. but this account in Matthew ….. Jesus states that He would be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. That was the sign to the unbelieving scribes and Pharisees to whom He was speaking.

Whenever the term day or night is used singularly in the Bible it can mean all or part of a day or evening (night). But the term night (evening) and day together always indicates a 24 hour period. In Gen 1:5, 1:8, 1:13, 1:19,& 1:23 …. God sets the standard for a full day… of which Jesus was fully aware of as noted in John 11:9.

Religion tries to qualify Jesus’s statement of 3 days and 3 nights with their own twisting and reference to an idiom … The problem is --- they are trying to qualify man’s tradition to fit their belief …but it doesn’t work that way. God sets the standard for truth …not man! …..Man can be right and they can be wrong…. the only way to verify what man states…. is to check it with what God says. My personal belief…. the things I have learned … are irrelevant if they do not line up with the Word of God …and for me…. the Word is the final authority for Truth.

We can track the precise day that Jesus was crucified by counting forward or backward. Forward from John 12:1 or backward from the Passover (which is Nisan 14) or The feast of unleavened bread which was Nisan 15 ....at sunset of the 14th….. (as that is when the next day begins.)

Passover is always the 14th but the Passover meal is eaten at the beginning of the 15th (evening). The feast of unleavened bread lasts for 7 days and the first day (Thursday 15th) and last day (Wednesday 21st) of the feast are high days … (that is not 4/20 with the devils lettuce 😊) A high day is a special sabbath as dictated by God → Num 28:18 and Num 28:25 . A special sabbath is different from the weekly sabbath which falls on Saturday. A special sabbath would be like when Christmas (which is always celebrated on 12/25) fell on a Wednesday …it would a special sabbath …but does not negate the weekly sabbath on our Sunday. The special sabbath (high day) for the first day of the feast of unleavened bread (Thursday Nisan 15) is noted in John 19:31 The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) …

The Jews' holy days began at sundown the previous day, whereas their
normal days began at what we call 06:00 am and lasted no more than
twelve hours. (John 11:9-10)

Folks unaware of the physical difference between holy days and normal days
invariably end up with very confusing complex chronologies of crucifixion
week.

* Days divided into twelve equal periods of sunlight were regulated by
what's known as temporal hours; which vary in length in accordance with
the time of year. There are times of the year at Jerusalem's latitude when
daytime consists of less than 12 normal hours of sun, and sometimes more;
but when Jesus was here; the official number of hours was always twelve
regardless.

I don't exactly know why the Jews of that era divided their days into twelve
equal periods of sunlight regardless of the seasons, but I suspect it was just
a convenient way to operate the government and conduct civil affairs;
including the Temple's activities (e.g. the daily morning and evening
sacrifices)

NOTE: The first hour of the Jews' civil day always began at 06:00 am which
can be a bit tricky to navigate, for example:

Passover 2023 begins at sundown on April 5. Now the interesting thing
about that time of year is that natural sunrise in Jerusalem will occur at
06:23 am.

Well; some of the women went out to the graveyard on the third day before
the sun was up; and found Jesus gone; strongly suggesting that his
resurrection was in accord with the Jews' temporal days rather than natural
days.

The fourteenth day of the first month of the Jewish year, which was the first Passover ever, was the day in which all the firstborn sons of Egypt were killed. Around that time the volcanic Island of Santorini or Thira as it is also known, which was situated in the Aegean-sea, on the Anatolian plate, which is subject to the forces of the over-riding African Plate that grinds against the Arabian plate in its Northern migration, exploded with many times the force of Krakatoa, which was a volcanic island that exploded in 1883, and that explosion was heard 5,000 kilometres away, and caused a tsunami that killed at least 36,000 people. It has been estimated that when the island of Santorini exploded, 35,000 kilometres of material was lifted into the stratosphere, and that the explosive force would have created tidal waves of anything up to 130 ft high which would have traveled at speeds of around 150 miles per hour.

A cloud, that turned day into night around 1,500 BC, has been recorded in Chinese history, and would have covered all of north Africa. The African and Arabian plates intersect in a line that runs through the Red Sea and up the Jordan valley through the Dead Sea.
Look at the strange phenomenon that was occurring at the time of the Exodus. The cloud that blanketed north Africa and most of Europe, and turned day into a night so dark that a man was not able to recognise his own brother who was standing at arms-length from him. The rain of sulfuric acid that caused so much crop failure and the death of the livestock which were forced to feed on the polluted pastures, the following series of shock waves along the great rift valley and the fractures in the Sini peninsular which is situated on the Arabian plate, the bulging of the earth’s crust beneath the Red Sea which caused a highway to rise from the waters, with its following tremor when it collapsed and tidal waves that rolled in like two walls of water on either side of where the highway had been.

Wisdom of Solomon 19: 7-8, ‘Then was beheld the cloud that shadowed the camp, and dry land rising up out of what was before water, Out of the Red sea an unhindered highway, and a grassy plain rising out of the violent surge.”
Look even where the Israelites camped on the shore of the Red sea, which was smack bang in the middle of a major coal field in Egypt.

The bulging earth rising from the surging sea before them, pressurized gas screaming from the opening fissures creating towering pillars of fire to burn behind them, a strong east wind blew all that night causing the thick smoke to blind the pursuing Egyptians while lighting up the camp of the Israelites on the eastern side of those wild fires.

All these events were caused from pressures that had been built up over tens of thousands of years and would have occurred in their proper time, irrelevant as too the Israeli situation. Where the miracle lay, was in the fact that an unseen deity of the future, was able, through his prophet Moses, to organise the events leading up to and including the exodus itself at the precise time in history that this cataclysmic event occurred.

In the book “The Wisdom of Solomon, 16” Solomon has much to say about the days of Moses; he speaks of the strange hails that fell from heaven. Burning balls of frozen gases, some with the ability to burn even in water, some which burned with a heat so intense that they incinerated anything they came in contact with, while other hail, burned with a cold fire through which animals could walk unharmed.

Solomon also speaks of the cloud that covered the Israelites in the desert and of the Manna that fell from heaven during the night. According to Solomon, the heavenly covering was a cloud by day and a host of stars by night, (a night sky ablaze with falling balls of burning hail stones). Then concerning the heavenly Manna, he says, “And that which was not injured by fire, [Burning hailstones] simply warmed by a faint sun beam melted away.

Each morning the desert floor was covered with the residue of the melted hailstones, mounds of a flaky cellulose substance, which looked like coriander seed, and would melt and breed worms and stink if left out in the sun, and yet could be preserved when cooked, and tasted like biscuits mixed with the purest of olive oils.

Carbohydrates are any of a group of chemical compounds, including sugars, starches, and cellulose, containing carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen ‘ONLY’, [of which there was an ample supply in the cloud from the volcanic explosion] with the ratio of hydrogen to oxygen atoms usually 2 : 1. Perhaps, if our scientists could simulate the same conditions that occurred in the stratosphere when the island of Thira exploded, they may come up with an inexpensive and environmentally friendly source of food production to feed the starving millions on the earth.

The early Egyptian magicians or scientists, were able to duplicate some of the miracles of God as performed by Moses. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if our magician/scientists of today were able to perform the more mysterious of God’s miracles as seen in the days of Moses, and provide an abundant and cheap source of food to feed the ever-growing population on this earth.

As I have already said, all those things that happened in Egypt at that time, were caused from pressures that had built up over many, many, thousands of years. Where the miracle is found, is in the fact that some invisible entity from some other time dimension, was able to instigate the Exodus, at the precise time that the destructive forces beneath the island of Santorini, were beginning to awake.
Although radiocarbon dating of an olive tree imbedded in lava would appear to indicate a 1600 BCE eruption of Santorini/Thera, that is, if the lava that it was imbedded in was from the actual eruption that devastated the island and its surrounding districts and not from an earlier minor lava flow, there are many archaeologists who still believe that the date is contradicted by findings in Egyptian and Theran excavations.

Buried Egyptian and Cypriot pottery found on Thera were dated to a later period than the radiometric dates for the eruption, and, since the conventional Egyptian chronology has been established by numerous archaeological studies, the exact date of the eruption remains controversial.

Because of all the contradicting evidence, the exact date of the eruption has been difficult to determine. For most of the twentieth century, archaeologists placed it at approximately 1500 BCE, but this date appeared to be too young as radiocarbon dating analysis of that olive tree which was buried beneath “A” lava flow from the volcano on Santorini, indicate that the particular lava flow in which the olive tree was imbedded, occurred between 1627 BCE and 1600 BCE.

But at Tell el Dab'a in Egypt, pumice found at this location has been dated to 1540 BCE, closer to the traditionally accepted date of Thera's eruption. This matches the composition of the Thera eruption.

The Lord's Passover is just another example of the Old Covenant being fulfilled by the New Covenant.

In the Old, the Israelites were saved by the 'Blood of the Lamb' lambs blood smeared over the residences of each family.

In the New, Christians are saved by the 'Blood of the Lamb', Jesus and His sacrifice on the cross.

jewish men keeping the Passover.

it means jews keep the Passover.

modern gentile Christians do not , as they were never commanded to.

just like the Sabbath. same thing. never commanded to keep it.

Let's take a closer look art the scriptures and see what it says in Exodus 43: 43 And the LORD said unto Moses and Aaron, This is the ordinance of the passover: there shall no stranger eat thereof: 44 but every man's servant that is bought for money, when thou hast circumcised him, then shall he eat thereof. 45 A foreigner and an hired servant shall not eat thereof. 48 And when a stranger shall sojourn with thee, and will keep the passover to the LORD, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one that is born in the land: for no uncircumcised person shall eat thereof. 49 One law shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you.

So it looks like a stranger, or one from another nation can keep the Lord's Passover, but if a male, he must then be circumcised and bought for money.

Jesus was the Passover…

Jesus never had the opportunity to have Passover with his Apostles.

One indication is Luk 22:14 And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him.

The Passover was never eaten sitting down.

The last time Jesus had dinner was Monday Nisan 12 which was dinner at Simon the Leper.

I can give you more details if you want it.
A little patients, because to be continue, that's in the next post.....thank you

JESUS BECAME OUR PASSOVER The following will show that Jesus became our Passover, and that is why we should commemorate the Passover, in remembrance of Jesus, shedding His blood for us. In addition we will find that Jesus not only became our Passover, He actually died on the Passover day.

Peter in the following verses reaffirms that man was redeemed by the blood of Christ and nothing else. He refers to Jesus as a lamb without spot, because Jesus who as our sacrifice, was without sin, that is why He was acceptable as a sacrifice presented to God.

(I Peter 1:18) Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; (19) But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

Paul states in the following verses that Jesus is our Passover. But even more interesting is the fact that Paul is instructing those at Corinth to keep the Passover feast. We will find later that Paul is the one most quoted when people support the changing of the Passover into the various titles you have today, The Last Meal, Communion, etc. Now one needs to admit themselves that something is not quite right when the individual (Paul) whom they quote in changing God's feast day, namely the Passover is here telling the people at Corinth to keep the Passover.

(I Corinthians 5:7) Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: (8) Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

(I Corinthians 11:23) For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: (24) And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. (25) After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.

The following scriptures will show that Jesus died on the Passover day, which He had to in order to adhere to the commandment, which states that the sacrificial lamb, must be killed on the evening of the Passover.

The following verses will confirm that Paul is talking about the Passover. Note what's said in verse (25) Jesus says as often as you do this, do it in remembrance of me. Jesus is stating, that each time you do this, do it in remembrance of Him. Not that one should do this as often as they wish or do it whenever they wish, because the Passover has a set time for observance.

First, Jesus tells us in Matthew that He will be crucified on the Passover. (Matthew 26:1) Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified. At verse (21) Jesus while eating the passover meal, with His disciples ,told them, that one of them would betray Him. In the Gospel of John (21-29) you will find that the disciples were unaware what Judas was about to do, even though Jesus told the disciples, that He was to be betrayed, and Jesus said to Judas, to do what he had to do quickly. They thought Jesus was sending Judas to buy something, since Judas held the money bag. Now Jesus identified His betrayer by giving him sop.

Pay close attention to when the activities of the following verse took place. John (13:30) He then having received the sop went immediately out: and it was night.

When Judas betrayed Jesus it was at night, the evening of the Passover. The following verses from John further confirm that Jesus was taken the night of the Passover.

Note in verse (3) when they came looking for Jesus, they came with lanterns and torches, letting you know that it was still nighttime. John (18:3) Judas then, having received a band of men and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, cometh thither with lanterns and torches and weapons. Jesus is going to address those looking for Him and you will see that Judas is with them, letting you know that this all happens the night of the Passover.

(4) Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye? (5) They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth, Jesus saith unto them, I am he. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them.

The following verses also show that Jesus was crucified on the Passover. The first verse states that while they had Jesus, the Jews did not want go into the judgment hall because its still the Passover.

John (18:28) Then led they Jesus from Caiaphas unto the hall of judgment: and it was early; and they themselves went not into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled; but that they might eat the passover. (29) Pilate then went out into them, and said, “What accusation bring ye against this man?”

In the following verses it states that Pilate was conscious of the Jews custom, and would release unto the Jews a prisoner at Passover. We know that the Jews selected Barabbas to be released. This left Jesus to be crucified and by now one should realize this is still the Passover.

John (18:38) Pilate saith unto him, “What is truth?” And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all. (39) But ye have a custom, that I should release unto you one at the passover: will ye therefore that I release unto the King of the Jews? (40) Then cried they all again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas, Now Barabbas was a robber.

The following verses will still yet further confirm that Jesus was crucified on the Passover. Note verse (14) states it was the preparation of the Passover. The Passover is at times also referred to as the day of preparation, because it is the day before the Feast of Unleavened Bread.

John (19:1) Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him. (2) And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe. (14) And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the “Jews, Behold your King!” (16) Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away.
