Paul's question, "Have you received the Holy Ghost SINCE you believed?" makes the point that being indwelt by the Holy Ghost does not automatically occur when a person believes the gospel message. After being told about Jesus, Paul baptized the group, that had been previously baptized by John, in the name of the Lord Jesus. It was only after Paul laid hands on them that they received the Holy Ghost. Something similar happened to the Samaritans as referenced in Acts 8:12-18. The Samaritans believed the gospel message, and submitted to water baptism in the name of Jesus yet did not receive the Holy Ghost. until days later.
I am glad you believe the true water baptism is to be baptized in the name of our Lord Jesus. I can truly call you a brother. I assume you have also received the Spirit's baptism?

Please notice the last clause of the same verse, "baptism" was omitted. If i believe and was not baptized am I saved? the bible says, yes I am saved. But if I don't believe and was baptized? Am I saved? No, i am damned. So in essence, water Baptism is not necessary for salvation, baptism in water is necessary because you have the salvation.
If someone does not believe, water baptism will not save them.

I was baptized in the titles prior to becoming aware that Jesus said to baptize in the name of... And that the apostles consistently water baptized in the name of Jesus. I obeyed the actual command and was baptized in water in the name of the Lord Jesus. Paul pointed out that people are to be baptized in the name of the one who was crucified for them. (1 Cor. 1:13) And that is Jesus. Also, I became aware that submitting to water baptism is when people are buried with Jesus into His death as Paul states in Romans 6:3-6. My prayer is that in sharing these truths people will come to realize that baptizing in the titles of Father, Son and Holy Ghost does not reflect what the scriptures convey.

And yes, praise God, I received the indwelling of the Holy Ghost prior to my being baptized in water in the name of Jesus. As God's word promises the Holy Ghost will lead us into all truth.

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.
Hello Oyster. I love this scripture that the bible gives three times:
Joel 2:32 Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved
Acts 2:21 Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved
Romans 10:13 Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved

Amen, God Bless :)

If you have a Bible you could read it and find his commandments there. I recommend that you read the 6th chapter of Hebrews. You will find repentance, faith, the baptisms, laying on of hands, the resurrection from the dead, and the eternal judgement are foundational principals of Christ.

Those teachings are expounded upon in other scriptures. It takes some time to learn all this and to comply. Every journey begins with the first step.
Hmm...
Matthew 22:37-40
New King James Version

37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

There are those who do not believe in the deity of Jesus Christ yet administer water baptism. As such, they are still lost. Both are required according to Jesus.
So that the determining factor is to believe which is for salvation even without water baptism. Thank you

right the end will come after the only gospel is preached to all the world until the world ends and Jesus returns like he said in the gospel the one Paul became a believer and witness of

Your arguments aren’t making any sense

are you saying as paul wrote that sentance the gospel now somehow changed lol ? And that’s your reasoning for inventing a second gospel that erases the gospel Jesus preached and then becomes the word grace ? Which now means no one now needs to do anything god said will save them in the gospel he sent to all people ? Thier saves regardless of what the savior said ?

I must not have the extra special gra ce lens to see which verses are true and which verses are lies
Well, I’m starting to understand the difference between the gospel of Jesus Christ and the gospel of the kingdom of God…

To be saved, we need to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ unto salvation.

AFTER we’re saved, we need to hear the gospel of the Kingdom of God/Heaven.

Gospel = Good News for the Hearer

Jesus Christ = Authority to SAVE the Hearer

Kingdom of God/Heaven = Authority a Believer has been given to do the works which are good deeds of obedience and also authority to cast out demons, heal the sick, raise the dead…all of which have to be according to the leading of the Holy Spirit and NOT our flesh.

So, there is ONLY ONE GOSPEL of SALVATION which is Jesus Christ alone.

And there are MANY Gospels of the Kingdom of God/Heaven….which we learn and operate in as we mature in Jesus Christ.

We need to keep this in context. The one baptism mentioned here is the baptism with the Holy Spirit. In this baptism Christ is the Baptizer, and John the Baptizer made this very clear right at the the start. This is the gift of the Holy Spirit. But that does not nullify water baptism in the least. So for Christians there are in fact TWO baptisms, one internal and one external.

That's works to achieve salvation sir. Eternal salvation isn't about acts of service. They are a right response to being given salvation.. but not the vehicle which it is given in.

Demons believing Jesus-- is not the same as sinners entrusting their salvation with Jesus. Demons-- they know who he is.. but dont and CAN'T believe in Him for their salvation. So .. the verse about those who Jesus says I never knew you.. it isn't that they had to go thru some hoops and steps for salvation.. it's that they didn't believe in the first place.

Jesus does the saving.. aside from acts of service.. aside from a commitment by us.. aside from obeying commands. It has to be that way.. because we have nothing to give to Jesus of ourselves that is gonna save us eternally.
The Samaritans believed the gospel message, and submitted to water baptism in the name of Jesus yet did not receive the Holy Ghost. until days later.
Those that were asked by Paul have you received the Holy Spirit when you believed.. well...

1) they were as a whole group.. so therefore .. a whole group receiving the Holy Spirit... well that's different to an individual receiving the Holy Spirit. For a group.. that's becoming one of God's churches.. or being empowered as a gathering. a gathering of already saved folks.

2) Apollos was their discipler.. and was mighty in the scriptures. His followers were called disciples. They had believed already. This tells me they were converted before baptism. Just because they hadn't heard of the Holy Spirit.. doesn't mean they weren't converted and indwelt by Him. At salvation people learn about Jesus. Usually that's all they know. The Holy Spirit coming in to their spirits.. isn't something you may know of.. yet it happens.

3) Again have a look at all the times in the bible where water baptism is not part of the salvation process. And again.. being baptised for the remission of sins.. is being baptised 'in regards to'.. 'in reference to'.. 'symbolic of'.. not that without water baptism there is not salvation.

Anyway... been over and over on this.. it's insanity. I want to leave this Wansivic.. but the fact is baptism for salvation is a non-christian religion thing.

I see the baptism of fire as the fulfillment of the water baptism by John.

Have you ever wondered why the gospel of Matthew, is the only gospel. That uses the phrase, 'kingdom of heaven'. While the other three gospel use the phrase, 'Kingdom of God', and never the kingdom of heaven?

I see the baptism of fire as the fulfillment of the water baptism by John.
We should take a closer look at that since it speak of divine judgment and eternal Hell (Mt 3:10-13): And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

Although it sounds as though all the words apply to the same group of people, there are actually THREE GROUPS presented here:

1. The Jews who repented and were baptized by John. Those who refused his baptism were destined for Hell, but that was their choice.

2. Sinners who have repented and believed on the Lord Jesus Christ and received the Baptism WITH the Holy Spirit. This is since the day of Pentecost, and it is the gift of the Spirit.

3. Unrepentant sinners who will be cast into the Lake of Fire.

So you say there's one gospel of Jesus Christ ? I agree that's the gospel doesn't matter what you call it

mark labels it this way when he wrote " the gospel according to mark " one of four written witness accounts of the gospel of Jesus Christ

"The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;
Mark 1:1"

marks account of the gospel ends like this after you read his account of the gospel

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
Mark 16:15‭-‬16‭, ‬20 KJV

To understand the gospel of Jesus Christ, that offers salvation to all creatures and saves all who are willing to repent and hear the truth and believe it, we have to read the true one in the bible and believe it and resist the temptation to accept the ones found in a devotional book someone wrote that is teaching you about a second and third and fourth gospel mark calls it the gospel of Jesus Christ the son of God.

Sometimes they just say" the gospel "

For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!
1 Corinthians 9:16 KJV

Sometimes they call it the gospel of peace

and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Ephesians 6:15 KJV

Sometimes it is called the gospel of God

Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,
Romans 1:1 K

Sometimes the gospel of Christ

which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
Galatians 1:7 KJV

Every time they refer to the gospel it isn't a different gospel the one gospel is all of those things it's faith and grace and truth and hope and salvation and it's all about Jesus Christ from his birth which you hear about in Luke and Matthew the birth of Jesus Christ

Later you hear about this baptism and he begins to teach those who believe in him about seternal life about God and mankind about how were supposed to treat each other , you hear witnesses of his miracles and raising the dead healing crowds , you learn from Jesus teaching things !Ike your a child of God who is !oved because you believe in Jesus , that he came to save us and all we have to do is believe in him and accept the truth he's telling us that will save us

It is the eye witness accounts after he did all that to him laying down his life as an atonement for sins of mankind and then he rosemup and commanded then to go preach the gospel to all people of the world for salvation

You will find many names for the gospel in scripture there's just the one that saves anybody and it's the one written four times in the bible by eye witnesses which all of them believed and preached the gospel of Jesus Christ who is the eternal king God promised who's kingdom is all of creation that's why it's a!so called the gospel of the kingdom or " kingdom of God "

there is one true gospel Jesus lived it and preached it made promises according to it and died for it and it's the same forever

Why preach? If they are already saved, chosen, elect, part of Calvin's system, then they are already saved.
It's not inconsistent necessarily to believe in election and preach the gospel.
Faith still comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.
Not to preach the gospel is directly contrary to a command of Jesus.
Tares look alot like wheat. So even the most ardent and discerning of your "frozen chosen" wouldn't know who would need to hear the gospel.
