Does he allow worship of other false gods ? And what happens when people do that ?
Notice how often in the ot he says “ Israel has provoked my wrath and anger and jealousy because they keep rejecting me and worshipping false gods “
It seems to be that like any husband , when your wife starts sleeping with your enemies your going to be provoked to jealousy
everything negative from God comes because man provokes him after he tells them clearly up front what will happen if they do that
Even if it says “ God repented of the evil he was going to do to his people “ like this
“And the LORD repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people.”
Exodus 32:14 KJV
that isn’t the whole story it’s not as if God arbitrarily decided to destroy them foret he explained “ do not create any heaven images and bow down to worship them and give them my glory , you will surely perish if you do it “
then after that they used thier trwawires God gave them to create a golden calf and bowed down and worshipped it thanking this golden cow for delivering then out of bondage in Egypt
they clearly provoked his response and then just as was commanded beforehand he decides
“And the LORD said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves: they have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, and said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. And the LORD said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people: now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation.”

Then Moses intercedes and God repents based on Moses intercession but even though it says “ The lord repented of the evil he thought to do “ it’s always based on what he tells the people first and then what they do according to it
It would be an evil to see many people destroyed but God doesn’t do evil we provoke his word that’s always stated clearly and he tells us up front “this will result of you do it “
when man worships a false god it provokes the holy jealousy of God because we take our hearts made for him alone and give it away to fake things that don’t even exist but in our fragmented minds we think up other gods because we reject the true God who created us and gave us life , blessed us , wants to give us eternal life
Id say that all the wrath of God that has come and will come on creation is rooted in man straying from the true God and bedding down with false dieties created by men

I don't know what the problem is with the difference between languages.
The meaning of jealousy, and the meaning of envy.
We use jealousy嫉妒 not envy羡慕 in the Bible.
And God is not a jealousy God in our Bible.
He is the God who avoids evil, of crouse including not worship of other false gods which will cause evil things happen.

Nearly every translation has Jealous capitalized, yet most Christians don't live like He is. This is the most overlooked name of God in the Bible. Maybe because it's not "me-centered".

The first commandment is to have no other gods under penalty of death it’s not his name it’s an attribute of his character if man worships false gods they are going to receive his wrath. He’s telling them up front don’t do it this is how I am
