This is the simple faithful obedience that saves. Many do reject the call of the Lord (Calvinist false doctrine maintains that one cannot reject salvation.) Receiving salvation is not a work, but it is a choice. Works should follow salvation as a fruit of it, but works can never merit salvation and are never the cause of it. My favorite passage on this is...

Ephesians 2:
8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

The part about "not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: " means that we cannot merit our own salvation; it is made possible by God's precious gift of Jesus. Calvinists like to mutilate this and trick people into thinking that salvation is not available to them. They try to trick people into thinking that salvation is only "gifted" to a chosen few. We know that this gift is the atoning blood of Jesus and that it is available to whosoever will call upon the name of the Lord and receive it.
God's gift is a state of being. You can't refuse it because you are already in that state of being. His gift is not like an object that you can accept or reject. Repentance, faith, and being filled with divine love are all states of being and all are from God. The road to damnation is wide because people want credit for making the right choice to believe instead of giving it all to God.

Why would God offer Salvation to someone that He knows is going to reject it. God gives salvation to whomever He wants.

You seem to be missing the point. Since God holds all men accountable to Himself, He offers salvation to all. Those who refuse or fail to obey the Gospel bring judgment upon themselves. Therefore the righteousness of God is vindicated. No man can ever blame God for failing to offer him salvation. And He does not give salvation "to whomever He wants". He offers eternal life FREELY to ALL. Since all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, all men need to be saved. But all will not be saved because many will reject Christ and the offer of salvation.

The main problem with Calvinism is the wrong focus on the sovereignty of God. The Gospel does not emphasize the sovereignty of God. Rather it emphasizes the GRACE OF GOD. So the Calvinistic "doctrines of grace" are actually "doctrines of anti-grace".

TITUS 2: THE GRACE OF GOD BRINGS SALVATION TO ALL MEN
11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

Hi Magenta,

I believe you are right. As to the `meek,` Jesus was talking to the people of Israel under the law NOT us who are IN Christ and will be in glory forever. Don`t let anyone sway you from the truth.

regards, Marilyn.

BTW love the pic.

There is a `door,` and on the outside it says, whosoever may enter, then when the person has gone through the door, on the other side it says `elect` of God.

Revelation 3:20 KJV
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

Paul said that out of faith, hope, and charity, love in action, works, that charity is the greatest.

And faith works by love.

No love which can only be done in action then no faith for to have faith you have to have the proper perspective of God's kingdom which is love.

Paul said he could have all faith so that he could remove mountains, but if he did not have charity then he is nothing.

Paul said if a person teaches that godliness is gain from such withdraw thyself having food and clothing be content.

For the love of money is the root of all evil for it neglects the poor and needy, and love is the fulfilling of the law, which people who seek after money for their wants have erred from the faith.

James points out caring about the poor and needy if a person has the means to do it, and if not then their faith is dead for they do not love.

So we are justified by works and not faith alone because we have to have works of love for love only applies if it is done in action.

John said if a person has the means to help the poor and needy and do not do it then the love of God does not dwell in them, so do not love in word nor in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

Love can only be done in works for it to apply and we have no faith without love, so we have to have works of love to have faith apply in our life.

To not have works of love means you do not have faith for you do not have the right perspective of God's kingdom that is love and we have to love people and help them with their needs.

Anybody that goes by their wants like Joyce Meyer fall victim to thinking godliness is gain, and the love of money is the root of all evil.

There are many television evangelists that are millionaires that say that they are knowledgeable in the word of God but cannot see they are not supposed to love money and live a lavish lifestyle.

Do they believe the Bible or did they find a way to make money.

We are supposed to withdraw from people like Joyce Meyer.

God's gift certainly can be refused.

No one is in a state of salvation until they call upon the name of the Lord, believe, and receive.
Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
1 John 1:10 “If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.”

His gift is not like an object that you can accept or reject.
It certainly is. The price has been paid, but we must receive it. We must open the door, We must call upon the name of the Lord.

The road to damnation is wide because people want credit for making the right choice to believe instead of giving it all to God.
The road to damnation is wide to make room for Calvinists who spread lies and false doctrine. They will get credit in the most negation sense of the word.

Love.

God gives salvation to whomever He wants.
God offers salvation to all.

These are elementary principals of sound Christian doctrine and the core Gospel. What you teach is not Christianity.

Galatians 1:
6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

Please let me know if my thinking is Calvinistic. God knows everything about everything. When He offers His grace of salvation to individuals, He offers it to people that He already knows will accept it. To infer that God offers His grace to those that will reject Him is blasphemy.

So who elected you, you or God? Do you even know what the word "elect" means.

I didn't mean to be rude, but you have to know the meaning of the word elect in order to figure out who elected who. It was an honest question and I apologize if anyone got offended. I still would like to know the answer.

God does offer His grace to those that will reject Him and that is biblical. God's Son gave His life for every man, women, and child without exception. That is the core Gospel.

Perhaps you should check the definition of grace. Christ died for all sinners. All have a choice. Not all will choose wisely.

As I believe you already know, election is based on foreknowledge. It does not logically follow that anyone lacks the opportunity or ability to choose.

Matt 26: 39 And He went a little further, and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt. John 6: 38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will but the will of Him that sent me. From these verses we can see that the Father and the Son have different wills although the Son subjugates His will and obeys the Father's will. Christ is the God who is active in both the Old and New Testament and fulfills the Father's will.
Exodus 6: 3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, anJohn 6: 38 d unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them. Christ appeared to them in the name of the Father but His name is Jehovah. It was the Father that appeared in Spirit because Christ is filled with the Father's Spirit and and the Father's Spirit talks through Christ ( JEHOVAH) (who is also a spirit).
Christ is our Savior, our Lord, and our God, but the Father is the father and God of all. Christ died for all mankind and wishes that all be saved but the Father's justice demands that only a few be saved.
The problem arises because many believe that God the Father and God the Son are the same entity. The Son is the God of all creation, but the Father is God of all. Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, ... Yes Christ lowered Himself to become a man, but He was sent ( while in heaven before He became a man) to do the will of He who sent Him (the Father). Both are referred to as God.

To infer that God offers His grace to those that will reject Him is blasphemy.
The Bible says that God offers His grace to ENEMIES AND ALIENS. So the one who blasphemes is the one who (a) limits the grace of God and (b) limits the finished work of Christ to only the so-called "elect".

God offered salvation to the entire nation of Israel, but did they all repent and believe on Christ? Hardly. In fact quite the opposite. So there is the clearest example of your total misunderstanding of the grace of God (which the Bible says brings salvation to ALL MEN).
